  1. I had a bad fall about 6 months ago, landed on my back wasn't right for a few weeks. I was thinking about getting one for this very reason. Was looking at something like these. Didn't bother though so I couldn't recommend one, the only issue is that they may restrict you a little bit.
  2. Verging off topic. Alpine Bikes are pretty good. They always seem to have a long waiting time to get your bike booked in so they must be doing something right, the staff I've dealt with are pretty sound as well.
  3. Chris, I'm sure you'll be able to switch the axles with ease. You could always pop in to one of the many LBS in town as they will have the correct tools/expertise to do it.
  4. I don't think that filing the forks causes any major issues, many people have done it and I haven't heard anything bad about it. I'll probably use my forks until they break anyway so their value is meaningless.
  5. I never even thought of machining the axle to fit, could of got someone at work to do it too...
  6. The Trialtech forks only have 9mm dropouts, your hub needs 10mm dropouts. You can just get a file and open the dropouts a little bit. Trialtech, click Additional Information
  7. The police are usually okay with riding. My advice is don't ride on the pavements too much, only dicks on BMXs do that. If you are riding by the Parliament the grassy area is absolutely fine to ride on all day (I have asked the police and they are fine with that). The area in front on the Parliament can be a bit hit and miss depending on which police officer is on duty. If you are there before 5pm and there are hardly any members of the public about, it is usually okay. Although if there is an officer standing about just go up to them and ask! Just be polite and understanding if they say no, technically they can arrest us for riding pavements etc so best to try and keep them on side! I got your PM, I'll give you a text when I'm next out. Could you possibly also send your email? Whenever a ride is arranged it is usually done through email and I can add you to the list.
  8. Hey, If you are only going to visit Edinburgh I would recommend visiting a few things: Edinburgh Castle (it is pretty expensive to get it, due to Historic Scotland wanting to rip off American Tourists, but might be worth a visit if that's your sort of thing.) Arthur's Seat (I think this is a must! Takes about 30mins to walk up if you are taking it slowly, It offers some great views of the capital, great at sunset. There is a proper path up it so you won't get lost!) Calton Hill (Another one of the seven hills of Edinburgh, offers some more great views of Edinburgh, some awesome views at sunset) Royal Mile/Holyrood Palace/Parliament (You will eventually walk it whether you mean to or not, it runs from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament. If history is your thing Holyrood Palace is good but again admission prices can be a bit much. The Parliament is free to enter.) There are a few museums and galleries in Edinburgh that you might want to view if that's your kind of thing, most of them are free to get into although there may be a special gallery that you will have to pay admission for.) The night life is pretty good, Glasgow certainly has more variety (but Edinburgh is a bit less stabby). You can easily just spend the day walking about Edinburgh checking out the sites. When are you visiting? There may be a seasonal event that you might be able to catch if you come at the right time of year. Where are you thinking of studying at?
  9. Hey, There are about 5/6 riders in Edinburgh at the moment! There is not a huge amount of spots in Edinburgh but if you are in Bristo Square in the evenings you might bump into either myself or a guy called Alex. Every so often a group ride is organised, there probably won't be too many over the winter due to unpredictable weather. If you go to Ridden. It I've added most of the spots in Edinburgh.
  10. Any news whether there will be a frameset on offer? Edit: and perhaps not in orange...
  11. PSI is basically personal preference. As far as I am aware mod/stock riders have lower pressures as they want to tyre to be able to go 'flat' when on obstacles to get more grip, whereas street riders usually run with slightly higher pressures so they can have more rolling speed. Each person is different through and you will need to experiment a little yourself to find a pressure that you are happy with.
  12. Can you not add spots anywhere? Just add you local spots and tell your friends about the website! Obviously it's only in English at the moment which may limit the amount of international users, something to look at Glynn?

    Minecraft

Does anyone know of any good Survival multi-player servers? I have been playing on the Suicide Gamers one, it's OK it's just not very exciting...mainly due to the fact that the main town on the server is a Communist Dictatorship where you need 10 diamonds to build a house, and even if you have the diamonds they still might not let you in...

Can you not make a boat straight away? You only need 5 planks, well that's what I did anyway...

    Minecraft

Nice find, is there any other land? Thinking I might just make a boat and sail away.
  16. Played the beta for about 10 minutes, terrible. It looks and plays great until you fall down a hole in the ground, more work is needed I think!
  17. I'll be downloading the Beta from the PSN tonight then, see if it's worth pre-ordering.
  18. Hope Pros are excellent for trials! Completely bomb-proof British engineering. If you are riding 20"/26" proper trials it many be better getting a fixed rear hub and running a Front Freewheel as this leads to a better centre of weight. Hope Pros are very popular with street riders.
  19. Is it just online play or the single player campaign as well?
  20. I just got an email about it as well...They probably gave it to anyone who has bought Medal of Honour/Battlefield!

    Blisters

As are as I am aware surgical spirits only reduce the chances of getting them in the first place. Now you have blisters it's a bit too late for that! Just wear gloves or man up!

    F1

I'm sure Massa is very concerned about being dropped but at least he isn't knocking other cars about the track to make up for it. As far a Ferrari are concerned their car wasn't competitive for the majority of this season and he is still running 6th in the Championship and is finishing races in reasonable positions. Massa didn't need to let him past during qualifying, as far as I am aware, both cars were on their out lap. If Hamilton did feel that he was quicker on the out-lap he should have be able to easily pass during the out-lap not on the final few corners almost causing an accident on a street circuit and making Massa have to slow right down and dive out of the way, and perhaps ruined his qualifying lap.

Lewis Hamilton is an amazing driver, all of his previous seasons in F1 and in other Formulas have proved this. Felipe Massa is also a great driver, but ever since his big crash in Hungary he hasn't been as good as he was. I don't think he will be in F1 for much longer unless his performance improves. This season Lewis has been making too many critical mistakes, and almost all of them warranted the penalties that the stewards awarded him with. His after race comments and overly, and often unnecessary, aggresive overtakes have recently been landing him in trouble, Monaco is a clear example of this. Clearly there is something wrong with him whether it be a team/management/personal problem. In Singapore both the collisions with Massa in the qualifing and the race were unnecessary, Hamilton could of waited a couple of corners to overtake in a much more superior car/driver package. Instead he barrels in and causes avoidable collisions and damages both drivers races. But that's just my opinion.
