  1. ben good to see the positive attitude be good seeing you on a comp bike again, least then i can watch and learn. I'll keep digging my heels in and keep practising though thats for sure.
  2. Good trial the day, was a good day out with good sections and weather. Thanks for setting trial out kev & ross!
  3. tried them all and the heatsink yellows win hands down!!
  4. just got it, been out all night and forgot my phone. will see if i can sort something, am training all day sat then going away till late, crazy busy sorting stuff for ssdt next wk.
  5. i've went lite weight but strong i'd say. comes in at 8.7kg
  6. Not going to turn us away lewis. If i didn't do motorcycle trials so seriously i would be doing all the rounds plus british cups etc but for me my calender is full of trial comps and that comes first. my entry should be with kevin by now if not am not worried as i'll sort it on sunday.
  7. kev did you get my entry?? 9 doesn't sound great!! still hoping to come down but things could change.
  8. got a mint set for sale ryan, there xtr only used for afew wks. on my for sale bit, i can also give them to jack sheppard if you want, he's up myway the now as we have a british round tomorrow. just a thought cheers garymac
  9. mega!! Your control on the rear is brill and the gap to fronts are silly smooth. good riding bud!!
  10. hi david, not not tryied the plastic backings but i bet there just as good only thing will be, they won't have the solid feel like the cnc backings.
  11. Nice wee vid man, i think they really help when looking back at them and studying the technique!! As said by most the guys here its really the back wheel control that needs mastered first as you sidehop looks spot on! Since am trying hard to suss the sidehop i'll take a video tomorrow of my technique and pop it on. was up at 47inch but needed to use the front to help me as i just can't get the power to go streight to both plus my technique still aint right. Def try to get the balance point on the rear and relax before preloading.
  12. Just what i have been saying all along, great solid bite but lack hold plus not great in wet. find the hsb cousts very good up front just not on the rear. cnc yellows are simply the best pad that works for me, ok maybe not for every one but i'd sure recommend that every one give them a go, solid bite and hold dry or wet.
  13. massive gap to fronts, awesome riding.
  14. grind lasts for ages on the sl rim with hsb yellows!! not heard many updates of the boys who are trying these, I DIDN'T feel or see any difference with the 2 cousts pads. yellow wipes the floor with them .

class act!!! to be at that level at 14 is fantastic, actually being at that level at any time of your life would be fantastic!
  16. Thats a fair height your doing!! right since i started learning to sidehop one thing i have found works when setting up is to totally relax when on the back wheel, loads of small hops just make you rush and go when your not ready, you really need to get make them into small but controled hops then before you go balance on the back wheel (no hoping) then the pre load comes in. i'll try get a video this week if i can, am still not getting a massive height but the technique is getting better as i was utter crap when i started.
  17. well so much for having kind of sussed the hook up, went out for a hour there and can't get the 4.5ft hook i was getting the other day, can't seem to get the correct lift from 2pedal stroke, might try 3pedal stroke before see if that helps?? must be a off day lol. On the other hand managed the 45inch sidehop afair few times, finding am tucking alot more and finding more power from the pre load. Also figured out why i always near killed myself trying gap to fronts , on the pre load i always had my arms pulled in then go for it, resulting in my front wheel going under the object so it just clicked, on the edge when pre loading i have my arms near at full streach when i lower the front, then explode forward and upwards, front wheels lands right on top edge when front brakes locked on.
  18. Nice wee video there!! i remember some of those spots.
  19. Nice video dude, one thing i noticed, is it you riding all the time or a friend also?? I noticed the first part the rider was right foot forward and rockman slate with black forks the 2nd part the guy was left foot forward with silver forks on bike.
  20. he beasts them hook ups!! some are very big, all seems so quick, hits the wall forward/upwards pull and he's up (simples)
  21. Yeah i was really bad when i was younger for going at things for hours and hours untill i did it but then realised its best to try for awile and if you don't get it go try something else then go back, most of the time you'll get it first shot when you return.
  22. nice, glad your pushing yourself more, and look forward to seeing the video!! you need to brake barriers to get better so working out of the comfort zone is a must. Since i started the push bike all i have done is try learn one thing at a time and its slowly coming all together. hope the weathers ok tomorrow as i hope to get a hour or two in after work if i get a chance. got out 3hours on tuesday as didn't go out on motorbike and pushed myself to get the hookup, still shit at it but i have learned the basics of it now to go for it, plus the sidehops come together now, don't know how i banged out 45inch is just happend with out thinking about it. Well i started this wk with 8blue pallets at a height of 4.5ft. i find the smaller the step the harder it is to do. bent your forks woo that could off hurt by the sounds of it.
  23. excellent man go for it, well the way i have trained all my life due to having very little time to practise is to make it quality training. so you get guys going out doing 5hours messing and they call it a good day but have they learned anything?? probably not much, so i practise deadly serious for 2hours after work and really think about things, non stop so am wrecked. this way i learn or keep my standerd at a level thats good. If only i had money to have gone full time pro to late now as am to old lol. pop a video up man so we can see your riding!!
  24. cool go for it, the main thing is to enjoy it!! never get wild as it will make you worse, if you fail something go try something else and go back to it then it will all work out at some point.
  25. 1 maybe 2times awk if am lucky after work, would be every night if i didn't do motortrials as this comes first even before my other half lol. Am a retained firefight aswell so after work on a monday is drill night, tuesday is motorbike practise, wednesday cycletrials, thursday motorbike, friday some times cycletrials, sat morning motorbike then comps on sunday. so about 2/4 hours awk i would say. Wish i could just go for it and practise like a mofo but theres not enough hours in the day, since the clocks have gone forward i'll try do some more after am of the motorbike if i have any energy left.
