  1. I've bought one now but thanks for the offer
  2. I just bought a bb5 off pinkbike and i need a 160mm rotor now. I have little money and so i am looking to spend as little as possible but i want to get the best i can with my money. I have looked and there are a few on Chain Reaction Cycles but I'm not sure how good they are. Anyone know a good, cheap rotor?
  3. Did you see someone there in a dinosaur onesie? He's the one quoted in your signature. We ripped him so bad for wearing that
  4. I could never do much on the back wheel but i eventually learnt after watching a mate try it. Make sure you use both your arms and legs because i didn't at first and couldn't get anywhere. Also can you roll up things? If so this will help you to learn and i will explain how next.. Try to rock yourself forwards and then back onto the back wheel and lean so far back you are going to fall off and then when you roll up something and you lift your rear wheel up the object, apply that motion and you will hop backwards. Keep trying that and get used to it and try to hop a smaller distance back all the time until you are no longer moving back. An example, but don't land on 2 wheels, land on one: http://www.trashzen.com/animations/anbkhop1.php This might not help but i had the same problem as you and i was told this and i could do it after i tried it. I would definitely recommend new pads and a grind though, that will solve the slipping brake issue. If you are not comfortable grinding your rim yourself, ask someone you ride with as I'm sure they can do it or know someone who can.
  5. By any chance did you get a dead arm? I tried to bike down a slide once. Never again. I couldn't move my arm for the rest of the night. The worst part is that i came off getting onto the slide not even when i was going down it. Edit: And when i say dead arm, i mean it feels like that for ages. My arm was painful for weeks afterwards.
  6. I just used some old bars and tapped it out evenly round the cup and it came out. ezgondo they do actually look really good considering they're homemade. I was watching videos on how to get it out and i saw a headset remover just like that used. It's a shame i don't have the materials or i would give it a go. That and i would make myself a bikestand because a few of my mates have done it and trying to hold a bike and carefully tap in a headset seemed almost impossible yesterday. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  7. All's good the new headset is in. It is the M:Part Sport headset and it doesn't feel as nic ebut it doesn't really wobble at all any more. I should be all set for radfest now!
  8. I've done it now. I wasn't worried about the old headset it wobbled since i had it but it was getting worse and so i decided i should replace it before radfest. I hope the headtube isn't flared but the new cups aren't going in too easily either which worries me. I'm having to very gently hit the new cups in but keeping the bike still while hitting it in is a challenge. Thanks for the advice.
  9. Any advice on how to get out the cups in my headset? i decided to replace my headset because it wobbled a ridiculous amount and now the cups wont budge when i try to get them out.
  10. And i thought i was the only one
  11. Being ginger i can see quite clearly how people get burnt in this country haha. Although i have been to Florida and it was hot there but i never burnt but i was covered in suncream.
  12. This is exactly what i was thinking!
  13. I used tar but it wasn't much use i found but i think it was just the tar. Anyway i use hairspray and that holds well. It leaves a white mark on the tyre where it's spray on but it comes off.
  14. I have high rollers and i got a puncture last time i rode. I've got punctures before but that was a while back and I've hit some objects pretty hard and they haven't punctured. I think the other day was a one off because i also came off and landed funny on my foot and sprained/strained my foot. It was a bad day I can't offer much advice though I'm still using the same tyres that came with the bike when i first started
  15. they will be along the beach somewhere i think. i will inbox you ryan edward's number, give him a call and they should all be out.
  16. I got asked wednesday night if i wanted to trade my bike for a golf ball. I didn't know what to say.
  17. try hopping backwards a bit when you're on the rear wheel, i got told it helps so i tried it myself and i learnt it pretty quick after that.
  18. how riding going for you?

  19. I agree with this. i ended up buying a T-Pro and it looks good in the picture and i didnt know much about trials bikes at the time and i ended up losing £100 because quite a few of the threads were messed up and i was told that the most expensive part of my bike was the brake pads. the bike was useless but because i had to replace a couple of bits like the bottom bracket i couldnt get my money back for it. I know its kinda my own fault for not having a better look at the bike but i didnt know much and there was an awful lot to learn considering i knew nothing about bikes before i started riding and i would hate for someone to be ripped off like i was.
  20. I started by hopping on the back wheel and then getting better balance and control so i felt confident enough to try a pedal hop/kick without thinking im going to fall off. once i had the balance and control i could pedal hop pretty well and once you learn that you will realise hopping up walls and things like that is pretty much a pedal hop but with more height to get you up it. I dont know if this will help you but ive been riding about 6 months and this is how i learnt the basics.
