  1. well to be safe its best to go to a bike shop but if you are experienced with bikes here's a link that tells you how to build a wheel. it will make it cheaper if you do it yourself but youve gotta worry about spoke tension and all that shizz.
  2. ahh cool. looks like im gonna be buying some stuff then... thanks!
  3. I was wondering what websites everyone orders parts from because ive been looking but there doesnt seem too many. Also is Rocknrollbikes a good website? I'm about to order a tensioner and i would pay by paypal but theres no option and im always wary of putting in my card details.
  4. looks pretty good il make sure to watch that.
  5. i'm just gonna get a new hub and rebuild it with the same rim
  6. its a MAD Phase 1.2 which has all original parts except the grips which are rockman foams but hopefully next week i will get my tensioner and single speed kit and im gonna get the 4 jeri tensioner like the one in the pic above and the single speed kit is off superstar components and then im gonna get a hope evo pro II free hub before i kill myself from lack of engagement points EDIT: oh and it also has high roller front and rear tyres, and HS33's
  7. i hate to burst your bubble but that rim looks honk. the wheel may be better as a whole spec wise but pink and blue? also i think all of us on this post have bikes already and the majority of us have mad phases...
  8. im Jacksnell95's friend and thanks for the pics its handy. i heard that you couldnt use a single cog tensioner with mad phases but this has proved that wrong. also i see youve gone for an 18 tooth sprocket on the rear. is it a good ratio because i thought that would be best when i was looking. one last thing about your chain, ive just read a topic about someone who snapped their chain and a few people reccommended this. its not a bad price so i will be buying it soon i think. EDIT: do your grips hurt your hands? my hands were too big for them and they cut my hands after 2 hours of riding so ive now got rockman foams and theyre so nice to use.
  9. i noticed this but for the 26" free hubs on select bikes but them hubs were alot cheaper than tarty. it will work out cheaper for me just to buy a free hub off tartybikes and get a 36h one rather than getting new rims and then because it will be over £100 il get a tartybikes T-shirt so i can be a cool kid
  10. and are the mounts level? this shows how to file down the mounts to make them level.
  11. there are also video tutorials on there
  12. i dont know how much you can do but TrashZen is pretty good and it has anything from the very basics to more advanced stuff like doing gaps and putting a 180 in it.
  13. im not going anymore. i didnt realise i have work to be in by monday and ive got alot to do. sorry guys
  14. il be there but il be going early again
  15. for two days riding without brakes you seem to have adjusted pretty quick! great riding
  16. im not being harsh (well not intentionally) im just saying its hard to tell what you mean. and no doubt you are a better rider than me as im pretty much useless. also beginners arent going to learn to look on the for sale thread if they know that they can find stuff here but i dont wanna argue so il let you do what you want.
  17. you have no idea what we're on about when we're making sense so im guessing you can imagine what it's like for us to understand you. anyways that is alot better explanation. now people will know what youre on about they know what theyre buying. not that they should be buying anything in beginners chat in the first place.
  18. pretty certain that isnt a hub. it sounds like a load of random stuff that you made up in your head EDIT: or your spelling has let you down.
  19. Revolver's guide to bleeding brakes
  20. maggies feel nicer to pull the brakes and feel powerful but if you have a leak in the hose thats your day screwed

  21. im not too keen on the idea of disks so i doubt il ever go for a front disk. i dont really understand them. theyre probably easy but theyre also alot easier to damage and hard to repair if you bash the disk and protectors dont work a tall apparenty

  22. i know someone who has V brakes and as long as his tyres stick he will stay on a wall. his brakes dont move at all so dont think you need to get maggies

  23. i will get a 4 bolt one when i can because it will perform better
  24. i thought i may as well get a 1.2 because it comes with maguras and its lighter.

  25. its not completely gay... im pretty sure someone's mum was mentioned... P.S. all of the recent stuff i've posted isnt actually me.
