  1. Don't know who this is aimed at but that's dedinately what I'm feeling. That's a fair question as it's about the only thing I can think of that might actually cause the chain to slip that i don't think is covered by the pics but there are dedinately no stiff links. It is dedinately the hub.
  2. Cheers for the replies guys. Guess I'm just gonna have to take it to bits again at the weekend, give it a proper clean and regrease/oil n see what I can find. I'm also running the same hub on my road/cross bike but with a bolt on fixed setup at the moment so I've also got the option of trying that freehub in it.
  3. Oh you were so getting up on your high horse and anyway, I never said it wasn't a fair price, I was just suggesting the way he's going about selling it is probably a little to honest for most people.
  4. Yeah, these guys need to up their game. I skate as well as ride and the skate clothing brands put so much more effort into their designs. Just check out brands like Altamont and Obey who are pushing out the sickest stuff at the moment. These guys have got two pretty average designs in a load of colours and that's it. I reckon it'd be cool to have some decent trials based brands but this ain't it. At least not yet.
  5. I'm generally a firm believer in using whatever fluid the brake is designed for and i think "good lever feel" is well overrated but I think it's cool you're trying different stuff and sharing any successes or failures with people on here. I reckon if I was doing it I'd have a go with antifreeze. I know some people already use it in maggies. Bonus for a disc brake is it has a higher boiling point than water.
  6. Yeah, I think we all know I was only having a little jest. No need to get on your high horse about it. You seriously think anyone is going to want to pay for the fuel you used to collect it when you bought it and then their own collection/postage costs on top? Get real. Even if they thought £480 was a good deal they're gonna feel cheated, knowing you only paid £450 for it. I'll be really surprised if anyone that's read this would give you more than that for it now. If I were you I'd put it in the classifieds just say it ows you £480. I'm not just being an arse hole and I hope you get what you want for it but you really need to work on your selling skills.
  7. Here's the drive train pics for you all. As you can see, there's pleanty of chain wrap, good chain line, tension, etc.. There's no way it's the chain slipping + I'm only pulling away on flat ground when it's happening. Had the hub to bits this evening. Couldn't see anything in there that might cause a problem but there was grease in there so could still potentially be something hidden in there. Didn't have time to clean it all out tonight. I'll have to have another go at the weekend. Not looking forward to putting that plstic seal back in again. Was a right bitch.
  8. Rad. Love a ghetto build.
  9. My mate had one of these back in about 98 and it was pretty old then. Think it was a Hans Rey signature bike or something. Badass
  10. Not sure I get this. You're trying to sell it for what you paid for it + cost of fuel?
  11. Could be a possibility especially with it being an intermittent problem. Tempted to have a look inside but I don't want to jeopardise my warranty. Love how people are still speculating whether it might be a chain wrap/slip issue.
  12. Yeah, I did say before that there's plenty of chain wrapped round the sprocket and that I can't put a pic up at the moment. Like I said, I've been doing it for years without any problems so it doesn't seem worth having a bit of cable + the adjuster is prone to getting knacked and messing things up. Used to happen loads when I rode with gears.
  13. Worked on my old bike for about 3years. About as reliable as I need really.
  14. Sorry, I should also have said before, I can tell the difference between a chain slip and a freehub slip. It is the hub.
  15. Running a gusset single speed sprocket not one nicked of a cassette. Chain is wrapped tight round it through both jockey wheels.
  16. Chain n sprocket were new together not long ago, got plenty of tension on the chain and the chainring's still got loadsa life in it. Gotta be the hub that's slipping. For any doubters I'll put up a pic up tomorrow.
  17. Odyssey do a 13t freewheel but they are a bag of shite. To be honest, you generally don't want to go too small for trials anyway. I've seen 9t ti drivers missing multiple teeth and that's on a BMX. Depends on your style of riding though. Don't suppose I'd have too much trouble with a BMX race hub other than the slow engagement but I don't do much TGS type stuff.
  18. Think a lot of the problems with BMX hubs now come from the size of the drivers. I stuck with a 10t driver on my Hazard hub when everyone else went to 9t. Never had any problems while my mates hubs were falling apart.
  19. Yeah, I'm at my parents working on my car at the moment but I'll put up a couple of pics later.
  20. Running an old short cage mech, set in place with the limit adjusters, all lined up nicely with plenty of chain wrap. I'm really surprised it's slipping too, especially with the amount of noise it makes, doesn't sound like there's an engagement problem. Also been running an old bulb hub for the last few months with no problems so not best pleased that this one's slipping. If no one else is having any problems, I guess I'll have to drop an email to hope n see what they say.
  21. Skippin, slippin, whatever you want to call it, it's definitely the freehub. Don't really fancy flushing it with GT85. Pretty sure a brand new hope hub's gonna be lubricated already and I'm not sure GT85 is the right stuff to use anyway is it ?
  22. Got a Pro 2 Evo trials hub on the rear. Only a few weeks old but it's already slipping. Not all the time. Maybe once every other ride but seems a fair bit for a new hub, no? Anyone else got this hub/have the same problem? Runnig 24/12 so hardly torquing it. Always slips just as I start cranking at something.
  23. Surprised to hear that about the g-sport. The Homer was the lick back in the days of overbuilt burly stuff in BMX. Still have one kickin about somewhere. Also remember the ratchet hub taking ages to come out because they wanted to make it bomb proof. Oh well.
  24. Thought my head angle was bad.
