  1. Yeah, I could have explained it better This was what I meant by big thick washer. Would have thought it's unlikely. If it's all put together right, the axle shouldn't wear.
  2. Not familiar with this particular hub but would it be possible to reinstall the bearings using the axle with a big thick washer on each end? Bit like a headset press. Save twatting a new set of bearings with a hammer.
  3. Imagine this with matching fork, geo of say an inspired hex or fourplay, four bolt mounts on the back and a disc on the front.
  4. Sometime late morning I guess. I live just back from the Pyramids so maybe meet round the back of there? 11?
  5. Think My frame is more like 10-12 years old which is why it's hardly comparable to a modern BMX frame. I'm thinkin post weld heat treated, butted 4130 with integrated headset and Spanish bb. Build a frame like that with a street trials geo and I reckon a fair few people would be interested.
  6. Same although i've heard some BMX companies have stopped using it, even on decent frames. Don't know if it's a cost thing. Still can't understand why there aren't more cromo trials frames.
  7. Mock up looks spot on. Looks like the final build is gonna be rad. Wish they'd make that frame n forks in steel, I'd be all over it like a rash!
  8. Awesome vid. Best brakeless vid I've seen. Rad song too.

Nice little vid. 1.36 brought back some memories. Used to session that gap back in the day.
  10. Cheers guys. Magura's going back on tomorrow but more for clearance than anything, running the old green frog pads. Don't like the brake too grabby.
  11. Finally got a new rer wheel. Hope Pro Evo laced into a Halo SAS. Just need to get some Black Market forks and a front brake and I think she's there. Hopefully get some better pics over the weekend. Maybe even get some action shots
  12. If you're gonna pay someone to do it, I'd get it powder coated. Reckon it'd look rad in satin black.
  13. Bike wise an old matte black Rocket Pro Trials, with shabby home painted gumwalls. Riding wise, street. More rolling kinda stuff than TGS.
  14. Don't ride 24" but I'm in Portsmouth if you're up for some street riding when you get your bike.
  15. Looks good but you should get some better pics up.
  16. With all the spline drive chainrings in BMX now I'm surprised no one has made an adapter to use a freewheel with BMX cranks then you could have a Spanish or Mid bottom bracket. Would be strong as hell I reckon.
  17. Don't have cutouts but I use electical tape on my trials bike with no problems.
  18. Might be able to dismantle the freewheel, grind a slot in the inner part of the freewheel (carefully avoiding the thread) and crack it with a chisel? Never done it on a freewheel myself but it worked a treat on the drive shaft bearings on my capri. This video explains it a bit better but you have to ignore the first bit and fast forward to the second technique they use
  19. Ha ha, yeah, the Rocket doesn't see much in the way of TGS but back in the day I used to be all about the big gaps. Like I already said, ultimately, you'd have to make the decision based on your style of riding and if you're a straight up TGS rider your biggest problem is going to be the take-up anyway but I reckon modern freecoasters are a fair bit stronger than you're all giving them credit for.
  20. Yeah, which bit is gonna break then? Everyone bangs on about trials forces and everything having to be really strong and trials specific. Rubbish. Back when I started riding there wasn't all these trials specific hubs and freewheels. I ran a standard Shimano LX hub for about two years without breaking it, then a standard XTR, a Hope Bulb and then a DMR revolver with a shimano silent freewheel that's still going strong on my missus town bike and believe me I've never been gentle with any of em. Not trying to push a freecoaster as a good hub for trials but if you want to do roll backs n your not so fussed on the takeup Issue I reckon you'd be hard pushed to break one of those KHE Geishas.
  21. Used to run a bit of old tyre but don't really hit the down tube enough to bother these days. If you hit the down tube a lot, it's probably worth protecting it with something otherwise wouldn't bother.
  22. Think that's rad that you're ridin your mates old bike. Would be no point in it sitting around gathering dust + I'm sure he'd be stoked.
  23. Ha ha, watch out kids. Don't get into street riding, you might wind up like that Danny MacAskill fella! Bet he's gutted he didn't work on his comp riding
