It just depends what you lie for, some people lie for personal gain and others lie to protect people... it's not always so clear cut though, I'm sure your dad has some reason

yes he had. money. it is a very long story ( about 18 yrs old and still going) but if it is not a problem i will not tell it here i am not drunk enough for that

I was lied to by my parents on quite a few occasions.. I confronted them on this and proved that they were lying... We now no longer go to church..
