£££'s Watching a few hope bulb, xc, and pro2. Are they all decent? The engagement thing....pro 2s the daddy in this field too?
-
Hey guys, I'm running an old deore rear hub, I'm looking to upgrade to something a bit more suited to trials. How do I find out the engagement of my hub? Which hubs are better? Plenty of Hopes knocking about but are they actually any better? Sure they look great, being all anodised blue and such, but worth it?

Small update. Starting to look like a bike now! Fitted a new XT bottom bracket to the Kona and moved the El cheapo to the zebdi, moved my race face cranks to the zebdi with a temporary ramped inner ring. My proper forks haven't yet arrived so they'll change within the week. Then brakes and finally chain. Thought? I kinda like the mix of colours!

Good progress dude!!!
-
What rear are you running?
-
I like that, will be pretty much how mine will be. Need brakes?
-
Forks are on the way! Front and rear wheel all sorted and ready to go, bottom bracket and cranks sorted! Need grips, cables, pads, chainring....then I get to try out the chain length....eep

Bb7 for £32 for full front or rear on eBay. Or check out CRC for some Clark's s2 for the same monies. Review: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/disc-brake-systems/product/review-clarks-cycle-systems-s2-disc-brakes-09-34871/ I've been looking for a front set of juicy 5/7/deore for about 3 weeks and they're all either £60 an end with no rotor or in need of a fix of some sort. Have you tried bleeding yours?
-
Actually the are from a Scott comp or so I'm told
-
God knows what they are mate. Was told they came off of a ritchey comp but I can only find pics of those on suspension.
-
You need to get rid of those eggs in the wheels mate. If the egg is away from the hub then you need to tighten the egged part and loosen around it, opposite if the egg is a dip into the rim.

Pretty pleased with my bargain Haven't put the front on yet as I need to true the wheel and its easier with a screwdriver

Well a few decisions made this week and a bit of spending. I'm not painting the frame, and I'm gonna run a disc up front since I need new forks anyway. So I'm on the look for disc forks and a cheap hydro disc or bb7. I've got hold of some DMR moto diggers which have barely seen a wheel for £24 delivered, and also some renthal grips for £8 delivered. Its coming together...

hahah i thought about this and my balls have made 2 kids so far with (unfortunately) not much effort. if only this could translate into 10 foot gaps i'd be king of this forum in a matter of weeks.
-
just re-read the first message on this page and that - ^^^ - made me wet my pants. i mustve missed it before! i'd be intrigued where you get your balls from as i think i will also need some soon!
-
considering the adapters are about £10 and the caliper is a bit more i'd suggest the same as that guy ^^^ Hippy, have you had any budget creep? i'm finding it hard not to buy expensive stuff....
-
Now that I've alerted everyone to them I shall start bidding lol

Cool, any shimano in particular?
-
So if I wanted to go hydraulic, what's good? See a few magura Marta sets about, juicy 5s? Shimano any good and do all tthese use standard ISO fitting? I seem to remember some shimano rotors being screw on...

I remember discussing this briefly with you by PM. I must hav been labouring under a false pretence that vee forks would be an easy find!!!

Hi all, I'm struggling to get the setup I initially wanted due to lack of forks in the configuration I need. So now I'm after some advice! I'll be mainly doing streets stuff in the dry, maybe a skate park, maybe some gaps, so I'm not fussed on wet braking just yet. I have a zebdi frame with standard bosses, so could do vee or maybe Maggy rear? I was looking for vee forks but I'm coming up short. So do I get Maggy forks or disc forks for the front? Setup A Hold out for vee forks with 10mm dropout and 190 steerer and run vees front and back Setup B get Maggy forks (like onza) and run Maggy front and either vee or Maggy rear Setup C Get disc forks and run mech/hyd disc up front with vee or Maggy on rear What's best for what I'll be riding? Disc front and vee back seems the easiest to come by. Although if there is a fork and break combo available on here that will suit then I'm all ears! Oli

Looking really good man!

ok - so my preferred options are more forks - eBay for the vee set up i think! another frame with shorter headtube to accomodate my short steerer - eBay again i'm guessing! the headtub on the zebdi is 120mm, the headset cups total 30mm, then theres a race on the top cup at another 4mm. i didn't take into account the race so the steerer has ended up 4mm too short give or take. i'm watching some forks with a 190mm steerer, and also a frame that is more the style of frame i like which has a 115mm headtube. frame alone will give me the 5mm i need, so will the forks. will see what tickles my fancy! so i may have Planet X Zebdi for sale (£20 posted by hermes - same as i paid), or some Scott MTB forks (£11 posted - same as i paid), or both for sale! let's see!
