JonMack replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
Saw the old girl last night, just chatted to her and all was good. Sorted. Met another new girl, shes not into me but she is hotttt. She's mates with some of my mates and she wore one of my tees and my boxers to bed and looked so good. was gonna sleep in my bed but didnt haha it's all good. She smokes though, denied haha. -
Pretty much. Try go to a shop like Currys and have a play with both of them, it's worth it really if you're getting into film making seriously.

Well... if you think about it, it's just "powered" by the screen backlight... as you lower the screen brightness, the Apple dims too, as it's just a cutout in the case. It also doesnt pulse, that's only the sleep light that pulses, to let you know it's asleep. Card reader? I'll stick one in my ExpressCard slot on the side of my computer.

Yes, I'm jealous. Or maybe I just think you're a dick. Yes, but why would you need a top spec Mac Pro to run it! AFAIK.

I claimed on my warranty for a dying hard drive. Took it to an Apple store and they replaced it and fixed the few other things that were up with it. Also claimed for a dead power adaptor and they replaced it no problem. Also claimed for a dead iPod 3 years ago which I landed on skating, got a replacement in 2 days. Generally Apple are sh*t hot for replacing stuff, but contacting them is a ball bag, cos they're all f**king foreign and don't understand english.

Why, what would you do with it that would be useful? Browse the internet and make up more rumours about how you know who the stig is? I'd rather buy a base mac then upgrade the RAM and HDD's myself, would be lots cheaper and more fun.

Well you've just gone on 4 sites to get that information on PCs, I went on MacUpdate, AppleInsider and did one Google search... so it's hardly scrabbling around the internet, especially as the AppleInsider article was in my inbox as i subscribe to their RSS feed. Maybe my hardware is out of date, but I've had this laptop 18 months and the spec is still good, 2.16Ghz core duo, 2MB L2 Cache, 667Mhz Bus, ATI Radeon x1600, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, hardly a shitty computer, well, it runs everything I need it to (AfterEffects, Illust, InDesign, Photoshop, Aperture, etc.) . Here's the base Macbook Pro 17" 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB 160GB Serial ATA drive (5400rpm) MacBook Pro 17-inch Widescreen Display SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) Backlit Keyboard (English) & Mac OS (English) Bluetooth 2.0 Apple Remote Power Adapter Battery £1,799.00 Or you could upgrade it with a faster processor, faster, bigger hard drive, over priced Apple RAM, and a 1920x1200 display: 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x2GB 200GB Serial ATA drive (7200rpm) MacBook Pro 17-inch Hi-Resolution Widescreen Display SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) Backlit Keyboard (English) & Mac OS (English) Bluetooth 2.0 Apple Remote Power Adapter Battery £2,598.99 and they're still portable, 17" and 3kg. Wouldnt really fancy lugging a 20" laptop around with me all day to be honest, especially as it weighs 7kg. I'll stick to my 2.5kg MBP.

Yeah it's an awesome idea. Tomm I see what you mean, that's well cool. I imagine it would be mad hassle, but it would be awesome to intergrate the gallery into the Classified section, cos hardly anyone uses it anymore from what I've seen.

Apple are about to revamp the Cinema Display line, and drop the prices. Plus they've just revamped the Mac Pro line with better specs, ahead of Mac World next week, so I'd wait at least a week if I were you, because there are rumours of a new MacBook Nano and a MacNano too, replacing the Mac Mini. Can all be found on MacRumors.

I assume so, as no one has heard him talking on the show.

Cool, and again from Wiki... It is also rumoured that Ben is The Stig on BBC TV's Top Gear. The Health & Safety Executive report into Richard Hammond's Vampire dragster crash in September 2006 records that Collins "worked closely with Top Gear as a high performance driver and consultant".[1] Footage that shows rare occasions on which The Stig speaks infront of a camera has also been compared to footage of Ben Collins himself talking, the voices seem to match up, although nobody can be completely certain as the voice of The Stig is slightly disguised under his crash helmet.

That would be cool. Not that I could see that cos I'm not registered on there, but sounds good.

"Displaying 1–75 of 1064" So that's the amount of apps on MacUpdate, which is only one download site. I'm sure there are thousands more apps. The look of the GUI is an opinion, I personally think it looks good, and obviously so do Microsoft as they feel the need to steal parts of it. Infact my friend was using Vista the other day and when he was scrolling through his open windows he looked at me and said "That's so stolen from Apple". Also I don't think people can criticise the way OS X looks when they choose to use Windows XP. To me that just screams childish, the big blue start bar, and the simplified control panel because the majority of PC users are so ignorant and stupid that they end up f**king around with stuff that they don't know what it does. Whenever I have had to use XP in the past for more than about 2 minutes the first thing I have done is changed the theme back to classic look, so I'm actually looking at a computer designed for adults. This is quite an amusing discovery too, It's ignorant people like you that make Mac users like myself have to stand their ground.

Yeah you'd be better off with it. If I were you I'd stick to Mini DV tapes and not get a HDD camcorder, Mini DV is a lot more useful. If you want some good info you could check out http://forums.skateperception.com/ it's all skateboard based but it has loads of awesome info about cams and loads of DIY tutorials for lighting, handles, and fisheye mods and stuff, there are some really good guys on there too.

The only problem is coding it all. It would be a lot better, because if you wanted say, a disc brake, you could go to the disc section, and there you have everyones discs for sale instead of having to go through loads of random threads and hoping the search will work for you...

I'm shit at front to backs on thin shit but I can do them okay on pallets and walls and stuff, you just have to get your front up on the wall with a bit of rolling speed, and then pull the bike up, making sure your back is higher than the front, so you're pretty much doing an endo on the edge of the wall, then let go of your front brake, and scoop the bike up with your legs while pulling up on the bars, kind of imagining your bike is in a semi circular tube... then push the back wheel down where the front was... It's hard to describe really, so thats the best I can do, hope it's of some help. Oh! Watch some videos, Danny Fosters new one has some mental front wheel gaps to rails and stuff, might give you a hand with technique...

He's recommended you the Panasonic because it's 3CCD, they produce much better quality images, also the Panasonic is higher resolution, and is 16:9, which is standard widescreen ratio. I don't know that much about video cameras to be honest but I would have said it was worth spending the extra to get a 3CCD than buying something for cheap and being unhappy with the results. I know people who've shot with 3CCD then had skate companies want to use their footage for videos, wouldn't happen with a 1CCD cam because the quality just isn't good enough. Hope I've been of some help, maybe someone like Jonny Jones could give you some more useful advice.

Christ, 2k? I would have so much more stuff if I got 2k a term. I'd just pay my rent all at once and then have like... a grand to play with. Oh well, less money for me to pay back!
