Are you checking the right Library folder? If you go Harddrive>Library>QuickTime you should put the file in there, if that folder doesnt exist, then just make the new folder called QuickTime and put it in there. However I wouldnt advise installing seperate codecs, I would just install this http://www.perian.org/

Yeah I know, about 6kb/s max. It sucks, but I like the customisation options and the fact its really stable. When I ran aMSN i always used the latest SVN build, which was usually just as stable with more features than the standard build.

Get Adium http://www.adiumx.com Best Mac MSN client going. (aMSN comes in a close second, only cos it can view webcam and you can see all the slutty girls getting naked on cam, but as youre a girl, that probably doesnt interest you in the slightest)

Note: He said pint. My housemate downed a pint of piss/sick mix, it was someone elses too. Did it on stage and won a surfboard. Then a week later downed a pint of tobasco sauce, again on stage and again, won a surfboard. Sold the two boards for £200 each!! The joys of living in Newquay haha.

If you want to get a job in graphic design please please please go to uni. I wasnt going to but I'm so glad I did, the opportunities it's opened up for me have been huge. Chances are in 2 years time I will be thinking about moving abroad due to work. This November myself, 3 of my uni mates and 1 current uni lecturer are exhibiting our personal project in Slovenia, for Break 2.4 Festival [http://www.break-festival.org/] We're currently working on loads of different ideas for this and basically, its going to be awesome. If i had never gone to uni, this wouldnt have happened, also I wouldnt have met half of the people ive met being at uni, and I wouldnt have as much of a clue about life. Basically uni is amazing, please make the most of your youth. While you're at it, learn to spell WANT. EDIT: I rent a house and share with 5 guys, here are our expenses per month Rent: £173 (super cheap, next year we're moving into a different house thats gonna be £260 a month) Food: about £20 a week each. Electricity: £10ish a month, each. (Thats 3 fridges, 2 Tvs, 6 computers, 360, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, SNES, Stereos, etc.) Gas: £10ish a month, each. Broadband: £5 a month, each. We dont have a phone line as we all have mobiles, we dont pay council tax but when they sent us a bill accidently it was... £450 I think, for 3 months, or something like that, so it's not cheap. Also I dont drive, but my mate reckons he spends about £200 a month on insurance, petrol to get to uni, going to supermarket, etc. Generally I cruise around with my overdraft around -£1000, I have a job where i get £40 a week, and that allows me to go out (but I dont drink or smoke), buy food, top up my phone, get the odd takeaway, etc.) My student loan gets blown and i end up rinsing my overdraft paying shit like rent and bills, then all of a sudden something happens, like we had to find a new house so we had to pay a £260 deposit for it, and then you end up completely screwed for money for a while, until you manage to sell something/take a few nights off from going out. I'd agree with most people in this thread, live at home until youre 18, go to uni until youre 21/22, then move back home for 6 months/a year and start looking at renting somewhere. It's not gonna be fun getting on the property ladder, that's for sure, especially not when youre in a young relationship.

My housemate told us all a story the other week about his mates from back home (he lives in Newquay). Anyway his mates were walking home and were bored, ended up talking to a tramp and then went twos up on her!! sick or what.

NTL 4Mb - £25 a month Shared through 6 computers, all 6 on 24/7 Probably using way over 10Gb a month considering Janson said he was using 1/2Gb a day and that's just him on his own. I reckon we probably use about... max 40Gb a month.

*sigh* Not at all. Virtual desktops are programs like Desktop Manager & Virtue (I believe most Linux distros have it built in) Basically it allows you to have multiple "workspaces" so when you press a keyboard shortcut, or in that video it shows them tapping the screen, it moves to a new empty desktop. This is useful for people so they can run seperate apps in each virtual desktop For example, I have 9 virtual desktops, i set mine up something like this 1: Safari 2: MSN 3: Mail 4: ----- 5: ----- 6: ----- 7: ----- 8: ----- 9: ----- If i'm working then it will be 1: InDesign 2: MSN 3: Mail 4: ----- 5: ----- 6: ----- 7: Safari 8: Photoshop 9: Illustrator Depending on my needs, depends which programs i have open (Flash, Aperture, etc.) Basically it allows me to have all files for one program open on one desktop, so i dont get muddled up with thinking im editing an indesign document when its actually an illustrator file, or im not franticly moving through windows minimising stuff trying to find an msn conversation. The advantage with OS X is obviously exposé, you dont really need virtual desktops because you can whack F9 and all of a sudden you can see all your open programs, I just prefer having virtual desktops because F9 adjusts my backlit keyboard and i cant be assed to hold FN at the same time as pressing an F key. In Leopard it's built in, it's called "Spaces". I can't wait. Nick, you're thinking of Remote Desktops Basically, what you've said is right. I have Remote Desktop server on my iMac which is at the end of my bed, and use my MacBook Pro from in my bed to control iTunes, or VLC when im watching videos, so I dont have to get up. Basically its so if someone came along and said "I've got a problem with my computer can you come and sort it out" all the admin has to do is say, what computer is yours, they can then find it in Remote Desktop, "control" it, fix the problem, and it's sorted. They dont even have to get up (as long as it's software based) Hope that helped fill a post full of mindless shit
