  1. back to the topic, C2s are awesome, theyve got power, modulation and bite when you need it. ive had mone for 3 years, and its still running strong. no. 5 caliper means that its a 160mm disc, the lower the number the bigger the disc is.
  2. im going to peterboro on saturday with jake, liam (leeson rider) and possibly wing and pinky. any one else fancy joining us?
  3. cant u just feel the air in the brake any way? btw, when bleeding in a bucket, just submerge the lever, cover the hole with ur finger, squeese the lever, let go of the hole, repeat a whole lot.
  4. well, as my frame just snapped, im not sure if ill be there. if i can cobble together a pashley in 2 days i will, but doesnt look too likely.
  5. Im going to be coming down on tuesday, depends what time i finish work, and how much sleep i need afterwards. could be 11, more likely 1. hopefully ill be slightly more awake than last time, and my bike wont make any more dodgy noises :P :'(" tuesdays a bit of a random day isnt it?
  6. sounds like your axle is snapped mate, check by pulling it, if it slides off with the freewheel, you need a new one. dont worry about the freewheel coming off, its meant to for servicing, just whack some chain oil in there and put it back together (pawls the right way round and use the seal to hold them in pace when putting it back in) if in doubt, or its completely fooked, ring hope the'll sort you out a good'n. sorry about the wording, its too early, im off to work.
  7. ill be riding about 5, as im at work all morning, so anyone to ride with would be good.
  8. best to clean them, they leave a little residue as thier cleaner/lubricants. when your sanding your pads, keep sanding till ALL the black sh1t comes off and it looks all spangly new. make sure your rims clean enough to eat off before you put the pads back on, or thell contaminate and hey presto, youve just wasted a cleaning job.
  9. uhhh, where? please do, seems pretty entertaining
  10. sounds like youve mangled it, so araldite in an old allenkey, put a pole on the end and heave. kettle full of water on it normally helps unsiese the welded thread, or some liquid wrench, WD40, anything that will lube it, cover it in it and let it soak in. mole grips, hacksaw a slot in it and turn with a screwdriver (wont work if cranks in the way). couple ideas to keep you going.
  11. just because one of the biggest, roughest riders on the forum has made a couple little cracks in a rotor (which will probably be replaced for free) doesnt mean there "shit" if youve got a problem with your hope, learn how to bed it in properly. personally i would ride that, gives a rougher surface, more grip, unless ofcourse hope changed it for free. im still running a C2, as i know that they wont have knocked out all the problems with thier new fangled designes, and i love the feel of the lever. never had a problem with it. hope are an awesome company. end of. for the 5th time?
  12. so you can do whats suited to mods better. if you dont feel like riding, dont, in a week youll be back out riding. its worse to throw a hissy fit and go on about how your going to quit cause you cant get that 1" up

    Compliments

I'd just like to say thanks to tarty bikes for getting my mech hanger out to me quick, just what i needed. came this morning, but my fault for ordering on friday. just to brighten the mood (Y)
  14. good for a zero stack headset, but a little pointless. go for a hope, near enough same quality, half the price. they last for ever and easy to get hold of spares.
  15. I'll agree with orange Zero, there was a point when it was the frame to have, along with the pashley. basicly a short jump frame, but better than a 14" XC frame. on that note the pashley itself, started the craze of handbuilt, unique geometry frames. V8's, seem to be the standard pedal nowadays, cheap, tough as nails and run forever.

    Koxx

    that is one ugly bike.
  17. Im confirmed for the 7th (if anyone will be there), apart from an act of god. i might be able to ride on the 6th at about 2/3 depending on what time i finish work.
  18. blend one up with strawberries, peaches, cream (what ever you fancy) and wham bam, home made ice cream. tasty enough to go to the effort
  19. where can i get hold of a px mech hanger? do the onza mcbeef hangers fit?
  20. the pro II T looks to be exactly what the bulb wanted to be. my next rear wheel will have one of them supporting it, i know that much.
  21. no worries olly, im up for ridingh this weekend and i can finally fix my bke woohoo. the 6th should be good, i can come down on the 7th, but not the 6th, as far as i know.
  22. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7570 look no further, its what the bulb wanted to be.
  23. any one else coming, wings dropped out aswell tomorrow (N) i got a mech today, exept it came wheni was out, and the post office closed at 12:45 (N)
  24. XTR is pretty damn good, its pre stretched, so it doesnt feel like an elastic band like some others ive tried. comes in at a tenner for a full set with enough to route full outer to the back brake twice. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1596
  25. well, might aswell ride 6th and 7th in that case (if availible, im sure some locals with nowt better to do will be out). if anyone feels like coming down this sunday (24th), feel free, it should be the best cambridge ride in a while. just put your name down in the other thread.
