    Apple Ipods

I don't think I can surf the web on mine. Maybe there is some program and an attachment for Wifi or something but I have no desire to do that. That's what laptops are for :) Some of the newer ones have wifi in them so yeah you can surf the internet on a 3" screen :S I just use mine as a diary and I have loads of very useful medical-type programs/textbooks on it which I use every day. But I reckon the average TF user probably wouldn't make full use out of it. Having said that, you try getting a cheaper touch screen pocket MP3/video player :P
  2. True. Lord knows why you've got your hard drive formatted in FAT32, but some muppet has done it like that. If you really want to open that file, you'll have to either use someone else's computer, or make an NTFS partition on yours. You can do that with Partition Magic, so download a trials of that or something. And then just make a 5Gb NTFS partition at the end of your hard drive.
  3. If you are going for a gap record, then why on earth would you make the landing higher than the take off?
  4. Not infinite but I think he can accomodate most people. I don't think he can do some colours (Purple) but he can do any normal colour. Have a look at the bike pics on the Leeson site to get an idea of what he can do.

    Apple Ipods

I like the idea of a video iPod. I always thought (as I'm sure lots of people do) that video on a small handheld thing like that is pointless. But I'm all turned around now I can play videos on my PDA, it's really good - I can sit on the bus and watch trials videos (Richard III is my favourite at the moment (Y) ). And it was under £100, and is a touch-screen MP3/video player. I probably wouldn't use it very much if I didn't spend a lot of time on a bus/train/in a car (as a passenger (Y) ) though.

    Paypal

That is right (Y) It takes money automatically out of your account if it needs it, but it won't put any money back into your account automatically. Because you need to pay Paypal to do that. Pisses me off so much. It's not as if eBay aren't making enough money already, they still feel the need to whack extra charges on (Y)

    Trial Noir

:D Rest of the video was a bit dull but that was immense!
  8. There is no forward/backward movement in the caliper though. You might just be able to get away with a 200mm disc anyway, because it would only be 1.5mm out at the caliper. But why not just get the proper size eh?
  9. Does the network work? Can you ping the other computer (start > run > "cmd" > "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" (both without the quotes) where the xxx are the IP address of the other computer)? If you can, then chances are they are not shared properly. It is possible that you have made the folder private, if that's the case then you need to un-make it private. That option should be on the same tab as for sharing the folder. Or the other thing that springs to mind is if you are using a different form of file sharing you may need to enable the guest account on the PC that is sharing the files (control panel > user accounts > guest account > enable).
  10. Considering it is 98% the same as your other ratio I would be incredibly impressed if you could tell the difference :D

    Echo Urban Fork

Stick with the Fattys. Urbans are OK and everything, but mine developed a bit of a creak and Fattys are just so solid. I certainly wouldn't pay for the Urbans over Fattys anyway.
  13. They are on the website as in stock. And I know that Dixons were getting the new Powerbooks (released at the same time as the new iPod) in yesterday/today, so I would have thought the iPods would come in the same shipment.
  14. No it isn't, they are two different elements. But they are in the same group or "precious metals". That is what doesn't make sense about this question - it requires you to know exactly what Palladium and Platinum are - hardly a prerequisite for an economics student! So I think they must have given you more information in the question or something, unless you've studied platinum before in your economics lessons (Y) . Even now you know they are different elements in the same group, I don't think you can really answer the question very well without knowing whether they are exact substitutes for each other. I suspect they are not but I don't know. I would say Palladium is probably a competing material with platinum, so if the price of one goes up, demand for the other increase. But I don't know. And I never did economics anyway (Y)

    Eek

Are they different to the valves in schraeder inner tubes?
  16. The would do so many tests on the poor guy it would be unreal. They would need to know exactly what was going on in every part of his body. The thing I don't understand is why he was tested again for HIV. Surely if they had a positive test that they were sure about then they wouldn't need to do it again. My money would be on one of the tests that they did being wrong (I.e. He never had HIV, or he still does).
  17. Yeah, definitely. Laptops are slow for that very reason - I've got a 4200rpm drive in my laptop and it's noticeably slower than a "proper" computer of a similar spec. Don't solid state drives die when you lose power to them?
  18. That was a common misconception that was spread by the Catholic church in Africa. They basically said that HIV gets through condoms and that condoms were therefore evil. But there is no evidence for that at all, and all they have done is propagate the spread of HIV throughout Africa. Well done.
  19. Just get some GOOD tyres. Not ones that look nice. There is nothing available in red that will be anywhere near Maxxis-quality.
  20. Pete did actually say he was using two drives in RAID 0. I've not really heard anything good about RAID for home use. Raid 0 is potentially faster, that is until one of your drives dies and you lose what is on both drives. But seek times are not improved, and that's what makes the big difference in terms of general windows usage. I think Pete would be much better off with a 72Gb Raptor (Or even SCSI seeing as he seems willing to throw money about), and then a few 7200rpm 250Gb drives for all the storage he "needs". And no RAID anyway. I thought Monkey's analogy was quite good. But anyway, prove me wrong my CustomPC :P
  21. The AliBongo is a trials frame, and an ok one at that. Quite short, so if you like that sort of thing you could do a lot worse. But the Hammerhead is not a trials frame so don't get it :P
  22. No they're not. They both use the same network, as Bennifer said :P

Just put them straight on the hob. Or get a blowtorch on them.

    05 T-mag

It's Supercycles that are selling it, so it's like totally Kosher :P
