  1. Are you running Kazaa, or any other file sharing thing? Have you done a spyware/adware check recently?

Ok. But I'm just saying that in the real world, as soon as you've done A-Levels, GCSE results go out the window. Maybe in theory someone will care, but I've not heard anyone mention GCSE's since I did them (Y)

GCSE's are only useful until you have A-Levels. The End.
  4. Well, they do with enough pressure. Whether you can make this much pressure in a trials brake with one finger, I dunno. I also have no idea how compressible magura fluid is compared to water.
  5. Haha. I am quite tempted to go back to riding red pads and tar. You would get an amazing brake, cheap, no fagging about with grinding etc. Wouldn't work in the rain, but meh, I rarely ride in the rain anyway.
  6. Make it removeable, so you can cruise to places using the motor, and take it off for riding trials  35hp is a lot for a small light trials bike though!
  7. Premiere is the daddy really, but it's very complicated compared to Windows Movie Maker. It's also not free...
  8. The Avid is good. I had a quick play with a Hope trial and it seems really nice too. Quite grabby (like the Avid), which I like, and possibly a slightly nicer lever feel due the the hydraulic-ness of it. But I would say it's certainly not twice as good as an Avid, so not worth twice as much
  9. Yeah work... I'm probably gonna do 6-8weeks of full-time (ish) work, and then have a holiday at the end of August. All fun

    Interesting

    Then buy buy buy! (Y)
  11. I did? Where? Haha, I dunno. Didn't think I'd ever ridden with you :">
  12. There was a ramp up the other side of the skip. So he hit that with speed, landed on the skip, and then did a 360 off :( Anyone else noticed that the "Rich Pearson 180 up" pic, he has neither feet on the pedals. That's gonna hurt, surely (Y)
  13. Yeah, he's just saying that he has abused his bashplate more than Jay, and his frame hasn't broken...
  14. Looks nice, but 142g for a booster that doesn't need to be there is a bit silly. Plus I don't reckon that's a very good material to be using...
  15. I never had any problems with SRAM powerlinks. I used one for at least 2 years on various chains, never had one snap, although I did snap a chain at another point. Plus it makes it dead easy to get the chain on and off. Having said that, with everyone's stories about how they got nut-rape from using powerlinks, I do feel a bit safer with my KMC Kool split link. They're almost as quick to undo as powerlinks, and they are strong.
  16. Wireless internet. People seem to be pimping laptops as "wifi ready" or something like that, without telling people that you can turn any laptop into a wifi laptop by adding a £10 PCMCIA card...
  17. If I'm around on Saturday, definitely, but I might be going home this weekend (Y)
  18. Er right. I didn't even post that link up...
  19. The problem is, there's more to laptops than simply the spec. Stuff like weight/size, how noisy it is (Some cheap laptops are really noisy, just ask JTM) and how reliable they are.
  20. They are a bit heavy I reckon. Tthere's some weird stuff going on on that website, read the pinning vs welding bit and the eyelets vs no eyelets. According to Atomlab, eyelets make the rim weaker, and pinned rims are better than welded rims (Y)

That's really not the answer to the question. That's just "what is red shift"... I would guess that the answer is something to do with the fact that because our galaxy is spinning, some stars are moving towards us, and some away from us. Or at least, some stars are moving away from us faster than others. Therefore some stars will be more red-shifted than others. Some might be blue-shifted if we are spinning fast enough, but I don't know if that ever happens. Or on a long enough timespan, you could observe one particular star, and see minute changes the amount of red-shift that star exhibits. But I think you'd have to watch that one star for millions of years for that method. Anyway, it's a possibility (Y)
  22. NSE are Koxx. I always wanted to say that (Y) NSE are basically the Koxx UK importers. They also deal Try-All, Megamo and probably a load of other stuff.
