I disagree (And agree with Brisa). If the front mount failed, then the whole bash would pivot about the rear mounts. The elastomers could easily have been bent by that, and the shape of the bashplate could easily change, because there is no arch in it to support the force. Think of it like that bridge-building game. You take away one bit of the arch and the whole bridge collapses and looks really mangled. Same deal here (ish). To be honest, I agree with what a lot of people have already said: If you design a frame with a bashguard, you can expect it to be used for bashing. For it to break after 5 weeks of bashing is rediculous. I think Jay has a right to be pretty annoyed at the moment...

I've said it before. They're good. They worked well yesterday in the wet on a pretty much non-existent grind. But they feel very soft, so I'll be very surprised (and very pleased) if they last more than a few weeks.

Mine is like that, even when it's built up. Pretty much all the ones I've seen have some degree of gap. But meh, they still work.

No, it's not a load-bearing piece of alu flavour cheese. Take it off if you like. But as Daahnhillaaaa said, you might have to use a spacer or something to allow it to fit properly :o

You have drives missing? As in what? Two CD-ROM drives gone? If there's two drives both gone at the same time, it's pretty unlikely that they would have both worn out at the same time. Like Danny said, try changing the IDE channel, if you reckon you're up to it. In these cases, Knoppix is an invaluable tool. Basically if you run Knoppix (Linux-based OS that boots directly from a CD), and can access your drives, it's a problem with windows (I.e. software), whereas if that still has the same problem, then it's a hardware problem most likely. However, if your CD-ROM drives are fooked, then you might have trouble booting Knoppix :o Linky - About a 700mb download - OK if you're on broadband. But again, you might have difficulty burning it to CD if your drives are broken. Maybe you should download it on another PC :o

I bought some white slaves on their own from CRC, so they can't have been that rare. But they don't have them any more, which is nice. Shame I tried to paint mine blue and didn't do a very good job. They do have blue ones. So no, they aren't rare at all. I remember the green ones coming out ages ago, I nearly bought some. Wish I had now. I think they came with a free mousemat or something? :o

Will everyone please chillax? Adam paid £5 and then the server went down. Si said he could have it back, so he asked for it? I don't really see who's done what wrong. If I had just paid £5 to TS and then it went down, I'd be a bit annoyed. You pay money you expect to get something. Fair enough Si has coughed up a lot of money for TS, but he wouldn't have done that unless he wanted to.

I think you can get Ti spokes in blue. But don't bother. I have gone right off bikes that are all one colour. I used to buy anything blue I could get my hands on, but now I'd rather have an all silver and black machine. Looks nicer.
