  1. Me and Dave Gill are gonna be riding somewhere on Monday (Lancaster or Morecambe or Preston - not arsed really)
  2. Yup, especially HP (And other brands) auctions. They sell reconditioned laptops with a full HP official warrantee, I think. Sometime's they're not amazingly cheap, but you can get a bargain if you're lucky
  3. Just open the ISO file with Nero. I don't think you need any other files.
  4. Get a router. Don't bother with crossover cables and that crap. Routers are very cheap these days, and it'd save you messing around with another network card and connection bridging. I.e. Simpler, better. And when you've spent that much on a PC, you can't skimp on something as simple as a router...
  5. Thing is, no-one is obliged to come to your events. You gotta make people come by making it a good event. Fair enough you've put a lot of effort in, and you should definitely be applauded for doing that, but if you want to make a success of it, you'll have to make it more appealing to people. And as has already been said, North Wales is a bad place to have it. Realisticly, how many people are gonna travel 4 hours each way to get to it? Hardly any. Easter is a bad day to have it - People have other commitments with family, or maybe they're away on holiday etc. Although I do agree that it's shit when people say they're gonna come and don't - A bit like the DJ T-shirt thing. Either you have to give up now, which would be a shame after all the hard work, or you write this one off as a mistake and set about making a great event that people will want to come to. Er what?

    My Poor Bike :(

Surely he doesn't have a tax disc either though? Any policeman wandering down the street would notice that.

    Yaabaa Frame

Obviously more choice is better, but it's pretty obvious that these are very basic frames. In other words, Koxx have intentionally given them less-than-amazing geometry, in order that the higher end bikes (Levelboss/XTP etc) don't get usurped by something half the price. Which I don't like. I'm aware that you pay for geometry, but it's so frustrating knowing that good geometry is available, but they make cheap frames with outdated geo. If someone just came along and introduced cheap frames with good angles, then everyone would be happy. Bah, I guess it's just business.
  8. I'll be around on Monday, maybe Sunday night (unlikely). Have you decided on Preston or Morecambe yet?
  9. I can do about 3ft with that sort of technique, and I use the brake. If I don't pull the brake, I just ram the bash into the wall. I know it's a pretty shit way of doing it, but you can certainly get higher than 2ft with a bit of effort.
  10. The way that is described just makes sure that the image of "behind" is exactly the right size. If you don't do some editing, then the screen is gonna look out of place. Your way wouldn't really work...
  11. I would say at least 512mb of ram in this day and age. 256 feels really slow in WinXP, but 512 is fine, as long as you're not doing anything too intensive. Be aware that the Intel Centrino processors seem really slow, but they're a lot better than the MHz alone would suggest. I.e. A centrino 1.4Ghz is a lot better than a Pentium 1.4GHz. Centrinos are supposed to be good for battery life too - something which is certainly worth thinking about. Macs have good battery life...

    Yaabaa Frame

They look a bit boring though. I know it's hard to tell from just a pic, but they look to have low bb, long (ish) stays, high seat etc. I suppose they might be ok, but I don't think they really add anything to the market.

    Pc Not Booting

Um yeah. I know you're joking, but I'll explain anyway (Y) Microsoft basically won't realease the source code for NTFS (Why would they, frankly?), so no-one outside of MS really knows how it works. So basically, you can try writing stuff for NTFS by a sort of trial and error. They've got as far as read access. But most people using Linux won't need NTFS support anyway...
  14. That may well have tempted me to go to Leeds again this year. Iron Maiden

    Popups ...

Google toolbar is fine, as far as I know. And probably Yahoo. But a lot of them are just spyware shit. But there's nothing really in the Google toolbar that Firefox doesn't have as standard...

Ebony is a type of wood. It's a very dark brown/black. I think the black keys on a piano are traditionally ebony. I guess ebony porn is with people that have really dark skin.

    Pc Not Booting

There's nothing wrong with his partition table. The reason he can't write to disk using Knoppix is that Linux doesn't have NTFS write support (yet), only read. So he can copy to CD/flash disk or something. I might be wrong, but I think he's sorted it now anyway...
  18. Take a photo of what's behind your PC screen, and set that as the desktop background  Would be better without a flash. Ach, too slow!
  19. You'll need to amplify the output from the PC to get any real volume out of a big CD player speaker.

I think you're right. It'd be nicer still if we did care. But c'est la vie. Hehe
  21. http://unlock.nokiafree.org/ - The one I used for my 3220
  22. Not gonna work so well with a big fat CRT though (Y)
  23. Yes, it has network built into the motherboard. Not wireless though - for that you'd need an extra Wireless LAN PCI card, or a USB dongle thing.
  24. So you spent nearly a grand on making it look slightly different, when it is exactly the same car? (Y)
