All I can tell you Lee is that Sian's step-dad has the whole sky, phone, internet package and were running 2 pc's and 3 laptop's. I've never had a problem with connection speed, or during downloads. I'm not sure what size they've got. I think the 6.5 mb is the most for your area, as I think it's down to how far you live from your nearest telephone exchange. I maybe wrong though, I'm sure that how far you live fron the exchange effects your broadband somehow.

Whats Island White Like For Trials
Nick Manning replied to lukeeeee's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
There is a town called Ryde on the Isle of Wight which from what I remember is good to ride. Your best bet is to PM Smo, Tank or James Quiggley. -
Hut Hill is always fun, what with the mud and clay and puddles/lakes I got my bb sorted now, so now excuses

I spoke to Terry Wednesday night and he was telling me about having some diggers over, he seemed quite excited about it. The only problem he has said is that where they will be digging the ground might not have compacted enough by tomorrow for us to use, so fingers crossed it's all useable. See you all tomorrow.

Your really selling it there Ash

I find this thread quite funny. This isn't new. As Mike said they tried this awhile ago, and I remember a local bike shop having a single speed bike that was belt driven, this must of been when I was still at school, so probably some time between 1997 and 2001. More likely to be nearer 2001 though. But my point is, this isn't new.

Try cumberland road, that should be free, it's not far from town, check google maps. How long are people gonna be out for? I could come up, but would be later, like 1ish. -

I'm gonna sweet talk the gf when she gets home, anyone from Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury, Warminster want a lift? Also, as some have pulled out, who is still going? I've remebered I have a few things to do tomorrow, so I'm gonna give it a miss this time. -
My girlfriend owns a Monty 221 PR, I'm slowly teaching her. She has a bike because she loves what I do and wants to learn the sport. I know Prawns girlfriend Tori also has a trials bike and is currently learning too.

Your tongue! I've never done any excercising or work out's and the only muscles that have grown majorly are my calves, thighs partially, triceps, biceps, shoulders and the chest slightly. I have have built muscles up more than I think and on other placves too, but there the only ones that I have noticed over the years of cycling and riding bike trials.
-
I'm not going to cut nobbles off my tyres. As for the gym, yes building your muscles up to improve your power to weight ratio is extremely helpful, but only if the right muscles are built up.

Cheers Stan, I like lock ons because they don't slip when they get wet. I would assume foam grips would slip, but I've not used them so I wouldn't know. I think I will cut the disc tab and un-used cables guides off, but I think that will be about it with the frame, don't feel to confident doing anything else. I'm also gonna change the front tyre to a nobby nic 26x2.25 which weighs 570g.

I see an arguement brewing. I would class a definition of bike trials ( bike trials is what I know the sport to be, and I believe is how most know it to be no matter what your style is), as getting your bike over various objects with out putting your feet down. Thats the basic of the sport. Doesn't matter if you ride street or natural, when you have an obstacle in front of you, your aim is to get up/over the obstacle cleanly without having to use your foot or bike to help you. There isn't much more to say about the sport other than the main purpose. You can then split bike trials in to types/styles of bike trials, ie: Natural - comps - street. Before someone say's anything, TGS is done mostly on street, so therefore is still street riding, simple as. You could explain the difference between a trials bike and regular mountain bike, ie: no saddle, small chainset's, wide tyres, hydraulic brakes. Hope some of this has helped.

Looking good there Adam, looks like you've been riding lot's. Loving your flicks, from your front to rear wheel, looks so smooth and flowing.

weather isn't looking great, light rain. Who's actually coming? I'm undecided.
-
I'm out as most are going to Oxford, plus it's ment to be raining, so I'm gonna save my wet weather riding for Hut Hill week after.

Anyone know when the entry forms have to be in by?
-
Phat pads on CNC backings, they are amazing on street. I guess it depends on what your riding.

Where is Moggles?
-
I've not had tyre roll, I'm only running 20psi, may start to run 12/15.
-
I'm running a Big Betty on the rear, think it's great. This is the info on the Schwalbe: Mine is the third one down. I've yet to actually get a puncture with the tyre yet, and I have really put it through it's pace.
