  1. Congrats! The Nishikubo model is very beautiful. The aesthetic is amazing and scratching it would hurt! The strength of the frame (Yohan) is proven. You will probably change the rear hub, maybe the rotors or not (personal opinion). Being the first edition they have done a very good job that is very competitive. Canyon has sold a lot of them and we don't see people complaining. One would have to wonder why they have chosen some parts when they have all to do the best possible: financial resources, pro rider, etc. Mystery!
  2. well, after doing what Hope recommended to see if the issue was resolved, I rechecked the hub and found that the internal ratchet on the body hub was off-center, which explains the marks and burrs on the freehub body... no problem at first but when the marks got deeper every month it started to block up so far it's impossible to ride. I don't know if anyone has seen these marks on his freehub body as well. In my case it happened twice on consecutive Pro 4 hubs. 🤦🏻🥹
  3. I'll keep that in mind for the future! I could combine some shimano zee levers with the hope TZ calipers. By now I'm using mt7 and I love them, but it's always nice to try something exotic! As for the name, I give Shimope a vote. 😀
  4. To add more doubts, at the moment there is no rider for Arcade. Clearer impossible. (Answering to myself)
  5. Congrats to me 😀 on the decision to build a second wheel, after seeing the performance of the first Pro 4 I had... If not, I'd be out of the game until it solve it. And living in Argentina it means weeks. I have a love hate relationship with them because I like how these hubs feel, but they don't last a reasonable amount of time (personal experience). . or maybe 1 year is a reasonable time for trials. I'd like to try the Spank Hex Drive Hub... who knows…
  6. hi dude, I got this hub under warranty from another one that broke before. What I don't know is why the body has these marks or if it is normal (it is generated by touching the ratchet) and the reason why it gets locks when freewheeling...
  7. Hello everyone! Here Javi, one more time with a new Hope Pro 4 rear hub situation (hub: 1 year old)... It really sucks when the rear hub starts to fail… The hub seems fine but when I ride without pedaling I hear a sound like there is a piece of metal inside. Even after clean it and put new lube. On top of that, there are some marks on the body, which means the body touched the ratchet at some point... Also, it doesn't turn properly, it locks as visualized in the video. Finally, when I checked the hub, I noticed bits of metal as you can see in the pics, probably from the body. Is it coming to the last days? I hope not! If this hub lasts more or less 1 year (in my case this is the 2nd), which alternative would be better (in the similar price range) ? Please, could you give your opinion? Thanks in advance!! 🙂 IMG_0249.mov

    New Hope Pro 5

Hi guys, the new hub looks good and would be great if it could solve the long term reliability issues that amateurs riders have reported. What Mark says makes sense to me, one did not understand, for example, why for years it was recommended to put a double spring to avoid skips, and we did not see a new version of the spring as we see now. However, the Pro4 hub in combination with the warranty response seems to be good value for money considering my case where the Pro4 installed on my Fourplay failed and the company sent me another one for free. This last hub is still running, double spring and serviced every 6 months (replace pawls and springs with fresh light grease). Although it still skips once or twice per ride. The previous hub lasted 1 year and a half, this one is 1 year and 2 months old. 😬 🤞

    Arcade

Thanks dude, I was already suffering too much. This could be a reason why we don't see Arcade 2022 on the streets... The owners polish the frames lol. And to Matt, congrats on this austere but amazing whip with a controversial seat.
  10. Hi Mark, how's it going? I'm agree with generic accounts and hashtags, it could be. However, I also say that while the Inspired Arcade appears (up to the 2021 model) you will not find the latest model. I wrote this thread after a couple of months (at least) searching for the "fluo orange matte 2022". As I told Adam before, here (perhaps the most popular trials forum) you can't find a few photos or a dozen owners. In fact it seems that nothing about it. All this seems to indicate that this model in particular is not on the streets. We'll see if it changes, thanks for answering, mate.
  11. Hi Adam, that was to refer the fluo orange matte colorway, released in May 2022 (sort of!). It's rare that you can't find that latest model running out there. I asked it out of curiosity and to know about the experience of the owners (amateurs). Also here no one raises their hand and we can say that this Forum is popular. Thanks for your comment, man.
  12. Hello again, Is the 2022 Arcade Edition on the streets? I haven't seen an unboxing out there or new owners posting photos or videos. I only saw Aaron (super rider tv) and Jack H. (pro) on IG. When I was wondering about it, Ali C uploaded a new YouTube video of his old steel frame... well, just to see if anyone noticed the same thing.
  13. Good prose! At the level of that frame's paint job. Thanks for your offer I wouldn't like bother you. I've ordered and the package is on the way. But If I go to LA I will let u know for a street ride!
  14. Hi! How is this project going? Do you have more photos? I would like to see it finished!
  15. And to conclude... How is this project going? Now it's not a joke. I'm going to that thread to ask for more photos. I always liked that bike.
  16. Hey! let that detail slide.. lol. In order to cut the hose I would like to see u finding a Magura olive/insert in Argentina! Impossibile. Now, is on the way because I bleed my eyes when I see the tangled stem.
  17. haha don't be bad bro... or no more comments about the outlawed correction hops in your pretty posts.
  18. I thought the same. That was my first impression (nice). I need more rides to get a conclusion. The Arcade bar is hard to beat but I wanted to try an alternative before to order another brand new arcade b. Thanks, mate.
  19. Hi everyone. I wanted to share my feelings and details about the Sqlab 30X Trial handlebar. Fabio's signature. Main emotion: I feel it stiffer than the Arcade riser bar and was a nice impression (personal opinion)... It comes with "Montagepaste" (friction increasing assembly paste) to not exceed the tightening torque of 8 Nm. Technical details: It's 84 mm total rise (Arcade Bar, 102 mm), 5* upsweep (Arcade bar 4*) y 9 backsweep. Length 730 mm. Weight: 330 g (Arcade 368g). Made in Taiwan. Clamp diameter 31.8 mm and 22.2 mm diameter grips. This is a theme for the bar ends but if we put some duck tape inside goes ok. I recommend Odissey BMX Par Ends (5€), they are the best I've founded. For the "stem marriage" Sqlab recommends a clamping width of 46 to 58 mm. My Trialtech Sport is 45 mm but I will install it anyway. The Sqlab 30X stem has a clamp of 55 mm... According with Sqlab User Manual is ASTM F2043 Category 5 – The functional range of bicycles and parts of this category, in addition to those specified in categories 1, 2, 3 and 4, can also be used for extreme jumps and downhills in rough terrain at speeds above 40 km/h. The functional ranges are also colloquially called gravity, freeride, North shore, slopestyle and downhill. Also with a maximum system weight (rider + bike + luggage) of 120 kg. Finally the finished and the aesthetic is awesome.
  20. Good finding!! May I add a little more confusion... In the same shipment from Tartybikes I received under warranty the brand new pro 4 SS/t with the similar "pro 2 pawls" and a pawl/spring service kit that I had ordered for the next maintenance, and the pawls from the kit are the plain finless model and the packaging says Pro 4, 2 Evo and 2. What a salad! Now is Hope walking back the way? It seems that in this universe it is not convenient to suppose...
  21. It's always healthy to face a little competition. I hope there are more options in the segment where the Hope Pro 4 SS/T is. The hub recently had an update (pawls), so we'll see if that improves its "longevity" or just reduces the number of cases we're talking about.
  22. Yohan is running the Spank hub at the moment. And I keep an eye on his bike.
  23. When the pawls skip, it kills me. I think the update to the pawls is to improve the action of the springs...
  24. First hand information, Mark W! I really love this bike (one of five I have). In this topic I feel that we delve into the subject. Grateful because I learned a lot. I'll update this story when I have the replacement. Thank you all, especially Mark W.
