  1. Some really nice points, Ben. Not really a rant at all - just some good old observation. I do feel that people are lumping their opinion of the riding and the opinion of the video together as one. I saw them pull off much more interesting stuff than the video itself shows. I feel they have been poorly represented by the video.
  2. I quite enjoyed watching them in person on the day. That was 7 minutes of my life I want back.
  3. Ours was too - everything after the 1:30 was just filler
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX7wGDkD4w8&feature=youtu.be I don't think Euan has posted this yet, so...
  5. Without a beard, you're just like the rest of the women and children.
  6. I'm more interested to see what the moves are going to be. Lots of different riders from different styles and backgrounds... Are they going to be generic moves and open to interpretation, such as "must rotate 360 degrees over the course of the move" or very specific, like "a 360 bunny hop". I'd like to be paired with someone with a beard.
  7. I hope this is considered appropriate moderators, but ThinkBikes is running a simple share to win competition over Christmas to promote out latest video "The Twelve Stunts of Christmas". I thought this would be particularly suitable for the new riders here, as the prizes are right up their alley! http://thinkbikes.com/competition Share the video, and some one on one training with our team at the Radical Bikes venue, a £50 TartyBikes voucher and a host of other things are yours. Merry Christmas! Spode @ ThinkBikes
  8. Hey Guys, I had my garage broken into and I've had two bikes taken. One is a stock BigBMX in white (see bigbmx.com). Only thing that is different is the rear tyre and the front chain ring. 26" bike for those that haven't seen them. The second one is a silver BigBMX frame, which I Frankensteined with bits I had spare. It's got black Onza Zoot forks, a purple headset, bright green jump handlebars, and a set of Onza Zoot Pro wheels. It's setup as a fixie. This one I've got a picture of... I live in Gravesend, Kent - but I imagine anywhere in the south area it could come up. Let me know if you see anything!
  9. Nice Sam - drop me a line next time you're riding in town
  10. Christ - you do a G-Turn and everyone thinks you're trying to be Danny Mac Plenty of people doing those kinds of moves way before he was... It's always a risk for any rider to seem like someone else, but he's young and hasn't had as many influences as the rest of us. Euan's progressing really well and I have every confidence in him If anyone is interested - filmed on a Kodak ZX3. Not bad for an £80 point and shoot.
  11. Of all the bikes Voodoo did, it was the one we were most comfortable on. The videos are aimed at anyone on any bike - so we didn't/couldn't want to use a trials bike. I think I also wanted to highlight how people rely on their bike setup way too much. We had rock hard tyres and this thing weight a TONNE - but Andy still managed a side hop that was about 36" IIRC. The frame is the Voodoo Shanga. It's actually a really nice setup - for jumping, not trials. It's just under £400 too - but the spec is surprisingly good...
  12. Hi Guys! We've been filming a series of tutorial videos in conjunction with Voodoo Bikes and I thought I'd just share them with you. http://www.thinkbikes.com/videos/tutorials/any/date/newest/1 The first three have been launched now, and Voodoo will be letting them out 3 at a time over the next few weeks to a total of 12. It's done on the heaviest jump bike you can imagine with no free wheel engagements - proving that you can learn the basics on anything If you've only been riding a few years - it's worth checking them out, even if you think you're doing it right - as it might make you look at it slightly differently...
  13. Hey Ruse - yeah, I know Plumstead. I've probably still got your number - unless you've changed it. Kent isn't the issue really - I'm more London than Kent now. Plumstead is 3 miles from me, Dover is 65
  14. Yeah, Gravesend isn't too far - I've been wanting to ride there before. Not much in my area really. Popped to Erith tonight and found a few things - but not much.
  15. Just moved to Belvedere in Kent/Greater London. Near Erith, Thamesmead, Bexleyheath etc. Just wondering if there are any locals I don't know about?
  16. You know I'll try! It's a pity though, because all the places I want to visit are in the run up to the show and my knee gets progressively worse the more I ride, so I have to make sure I'm rested before a show
  17. We've got a demo booked in 28th-29th - so I'm not sure which dates I can make so I'm fully rested up. I'll try my best for the Sat/Sun of the previous weekend
  18. Nah - you'll only look like a d*ck if you don't come!
  19. 2009 - yes - but Luke is talking about arranging a 2010 (pronounced Twenty Ten - for impact...)
  20. Count me in! I'll try and get to some of the non-London ones too. And if anyone is selling a 24 - drop me a line
  21. Andy and I will be there - albeit a little late - more like 12.
