I don't want to ruin your hopes, but in most cases homemade adapters will be the only choice if you want to use Vees on a mod. Heatsink, Zhi or Bonz adapters move the brake mount closer to the axle and thus decreases the vertical clearance. This causes big mod rear tires to run on the cable. Ideally the mount should be located at the bottom hole of the 4-bolt mounts.

You can't cut 10mm off the driveside. It will rub on the freehub body. A normal Pro II hub shell + the shorter trials freehub might be a solution?!
