Another update: Does anyone know what the rake is of echo urban forks?? Also I want to put a little tube between the chainstays to support them but theres not much room, dont really want to lengthen the chainstays either. Could weld a plate on? Thanks, Dave

Hey, is it possible for someone to measure the outside diameter of a 360 dropout for me please? Also the length if possible. Thanks, Dave

This may sound really random/strange but did you get the bike from somewhere in west brom? (Its not stolen or anything so dont worry! just curious if its an old mates)

Ive got information on materials but im more looking for information on actual frame designs. As in specific details on why certain structures are stronger then others (not just because they use stronger materials or lots of triangles etc)

Hey, as some of you may be aware I am building a frame for my A2 project. The biggest problem I am having is that to gain the marks I need to prove/show why my design is better then others. As in, for example, why joining the seatstays 20mm further away might make a stronger structure than say different angles/measurements. The only way I can see to test this is to model it in CAD and do some stress analysis. Unfortunetly my CAD skills arent the best and im not sure how accurate it would be. Is there anything else I could do? Thanks, Dave

Well today was very interesting. I was out riding alone in town when a Chinese man approaches me and says your very good at what you do and started to talk to me about how riding required skill, concentration, calm and focus. We got talking and he told me about how he does tai chi and self defence. I found it all very intresting and he showed me quite a few moves and explained the basic priniciples. Does anyone here do tai chi? Dave

I know this might sound lazy or something but no. I want to stick to ideas which I know work and have been tried and tested. I have a few ideas but its a big risk to take and as ive never built a frame before Im following the 'keep it simple, stupid' rule

Regular Disk Brake Compared To Hope Mono Trial 180mm
David replied to NirZionTrials's topic in Trials Chat
A lot of it is down to how well you set-up and maintain your brake. I have seen so many bikes which are very poorly looked after and not set-up properly at all. Hope mono trials have amazing power and are very reliable if you look after them. BB7's have very good braking power too. Again, I wouldnt go entirely by what you hear. Dave -
Anyone Use These Pedals...flat 50/50 Crankbrothers?
David replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Trials Chat
Gusset Slim Jim pedals - £30 - Sealed Bearings, better then V8's, about 10g lighter then V8's so not heavy, fully replaceable pins. Sweet -
Hey aaron, Im a bit unsure about the headtube length. What do you recommend using? I will be turning it myself on the lathe so I was also wondering what thickness it should be? Im assuming it should be the same guage as my top/down tubes so it is easier to braze? Thanks, Dave

To be honest I wouldnt bother with Vista when it first comes out, like all things its probably best to wait. From what Ive seen it just looks like its got a very fancy GUI which needs a pretty sweet spec just to run it (Fancy 3D windows etc..) Dave

Hey, Im making a frame for my A2 DT project. It will be 26" and im looking to make it a street bike (as in short and flicky) Im about 5ft 10", this is what ive come up with so far: Ive just realised the wheelbase is very short, it should be 1040. This is just a quick design by the way to show the dimensions.

Hey, I have a problem with my JVC GR-DF460 camcorder. It says the lens cap is still on and I am pretty sure this is not a CCD problem but a problem with the Iris not opening properly. My question is If I take the optical block apart to get to the Iris will I have to have the lens computer Re-aligned? Thanks, Dave

Ok so i've decided its time to stop eating crap food, chocolate, chips, sweets etc...I'm not fat or trying to loose weight I just think its time for a healthier lifestyle. I know I don't drink enough water in the day so I was wondering what else would be good to drink? I dent really want anything with sugar in, I quite like the volvic water with a touch of fruit but I'm not sure how much sugar/crap stuff its got in it? Any ideas? Also thinking about eating healthy sandwhiches every day, need to be simple and quick to make and tasty! Thanks, Dave

WTF Did I see him hook a massive gate!!!!!

Its very rare that a stolen trial bike will ever end up on ebay. It will just be sold between people for very little money and end up dumped somewhere.Thieves dont have time/skills for ebay unless someone bought it off them and decided to put it up. Looks genuine to me.

Im deciding wether to start again, seems a bit stupid though as Ive checked every spoke and it all seems to be laced perfectly. When I built it at first I just did 2 turns on each spoke, do you think I shud do all the trailing spokes so you just cant see any thread then put the leading spokes in like normal and tension them the same as the trailing ones? Thanks, Dave
-
Hey, Ive been building my new rear wheel (521 on hope bulb) and its really starting to annoy me now. I have laced the wheel perfectly (3 cross) and started tensioning the spokes, first of all doing 2 turns on each. Once ive gone round the wheel a few times putting the same amount of tension on each spoke the wheel goes all over the place Like really badly swaying side to side. Im using 260mm spokes for both sides as I used the dt swiss spoke calculator which said 259.2 and 259.7. Ive never had this problem before
