  1. Hey guys just posting up to say what a cracker of a ride I had in bristol with you lot yesterday. Was nice to meet some new riders and have a really good day out! will hopefully catch up with you guys in the near future.
  2. tarty bikes are the sh*t!!!! simple as one of the best companies i have ever dealt with, the stuff is always on time and always unbeaten on price and quality! thoroughly recomend to anyone.
  3. hey guys i have rounded 2 threads on the crank. Has anyone rethreaded a crank? do you just thread to the depth of the bashgaurd or go all the way through? 6mm thread over the original 5mm. whats the best method to insure strength! cheers guys!
  4. its possible matey i always re tap the thread to with abigger diameter to ensure the bolt with hold in! for e.g. normal brake bolts are 5mm diameter i would re tap it with a 6 or even a 7mm diameter to get rid of the old lose thread leaving you with a strong fresh thread.
  5. its all about ur imagination and balance with them both im sure you can do anyting. When you start looking at things as a challenge and not as scary you will progress. I used to not try things as they were scary or dangerous, but you have to see them as challenges just waiting to be conquered.
  6. i mangled a race face bottome bracket a few years back matey they said it was covered for life! but not on certain parts of it so in the end i baught a shimano budget one and have used them ever since they are like battle tanks! i would recomend them to anyone.
  7. hey everyone i just bought a rear try all rear tyre as the hot s weren't working as good with the wider rims as they were with the thinner ones and by god these news ones are awesome. Very thick sidewalls and wicked grip i would definately reccomend buying them and especially from tarty bikes god i love buying from them, the stuff is always next day and always when they say it will be! i have ordered quite a lot with them the past 6 months and not one thing has been less than perfect! i would like to thank them all!
  8. you gotta love the useless waste of space! i had a bike and motorbike stolen from my shed a few years back i saw it a few weeks later stripped down to metal and i knew the guy was a drug dealer so i didnt bother going any closer! as usual the police dont want the paper work,so they are left to run the world!
  9. dude i had the same probelm a few years back when i snapped my first frame. I welded it and 3 days later it went again! i would definately reccomend just getting a new frame dude!
  10. im loving the black gu mate, but the only thing i would say to you is think of how it will look in 6 months time after a smashing! silver frames hide the scratches as best they can.
  11. I have had the same problems mate and to be totally honest i would just scrap the magura's on the front full stop. I would reccomend a hundred times round a good v brake. Nothing will match a xtr front v brake! get some nice plazmatic pads for them off tarty baikes and your onto a winner! as for the front magura my crm plazmatic pads worked ok! but nothing compared to my v brake which is only a little avid with cool pads, so im sorry dude but i wouldnt carry on with magura's especially seeing how easy it is to set up v brakes.
  12. For his age, size and build he is very good im sure we will be watching his talent grow through the years!
  13. im currently riding a Gu Typhoon 26" mate. Main components are chris king, hope, mitchellin, magura, fatty forks etc etc.
  14. its easy enough mate go to www.photobucket.com and register for a free account. Then press upload file. You then click on the picture you want to upload and click upload. Once uploaded there will be three different codes beneath. Copy and paste the url code beneath and paste it into the post on here. Then press post and the image will appear. Good luck mate.
  15. what a quality picture there mate! bet it really hurt and burned!!
  16. hey guys i have snapped the axle on my chris king classic rear hub. Its the titanium model, but it has severed on the left side of the hub! The hub is 4 years old now so its still under warranty, so im just wondering if its worth sending it back or are chris king not very good on the warranty's e.g. take forever to send you a new one out, question you etc etc! or is it just as well to buy a new axle from tarty bikes! any help will be much appreciated thanks James.
  17. hes always been a unique style of rider always enjoyed watching his vid with the lads at bristol! keep them coming rowan!
  18. sounds like a good idea matey. Hmm a high bb is generally good just watch out for the rear brake as when you sidehop you tend to catch your ankle on the rear brake if the bb is high enough. The rear should have a wide enough gap to fit a 50mm rim in there with plenty of room for the brake to sit flush on a new set of pads and work well. The front should be high enough for riders not to hit there legs whilst gapping or sidehoping, but not to a stupid height. Obviously if you make the rear wide your gonna have to make a wide bb setup bare in mind the longer the bb is the weaker it will be as there is more force working on a more strectched out area leading to more parts failing. I think a great idea would be to weld a plate on The left hand side of the rear of the frame to stop the dents and scrappes that come with failing a sidehop as this will increase durability. Just remember the certain clearance issues you have to go around and have a blast giving it a go mate i will be trying this idea out as soon as i got some time in the engineering shop keep us updated matey.
  19. some days i like to go quite large and have some easier lines to do so street is a good option, but then i do get the urge to go and do some technical lines and more high pace riding therefore natural is always a good tester!
  20. that is no reason why you should quit. You either quit when you dont feel happy riding anymore, loss of interest or you physically cannot ride anymore. I cant imagine not riding!
  21. i dont know if there are but everytime i ride bristol there is always a group of riders roaming around mate so you wont be alone! its a great place to ride and live to be honest mate.
  22. o i bet that rides like a dream! i loved my ashton till i snapped them both! then i ended up going gu!
  23. The weather forecast is meant to be dreadfull for today matey dont think there will be many people brave enough to get out in it!
