  1. I would test the 2.5 x 26 on the rear but stretching a xc tube in a 2.4 schwalbe.
  2. Hmmm stiffer wheels from the stretchy double butted spokes. Stronger or stiffer ? Stronger maybe. I have heard a lot of wheel builders say double butted is stronger, something about the elasticity of the spoke reducing broken bends and nipples. But double butted will make a more fexible wheel not stiffer.
  3. Anyone buying these. If your valve cones away from the tube. You can get another underline warranty. Just a heads up as they have had a few dicky valves I will be using one in the front soon as the eclipe rep gets me a freebie Because I don't wanna spend £40 on a tube
  4. Bloody hell and the ds bomb frame hasent snapped yet. The seat clamp your on about uses a single bolt I am not sure but think its a wedge type clamp
  5. Combats have rim brake surface though. The sas and t2 don't. If I were using halo I would cut holes in a combat for the rear and cut holes in an old tornado for the front
  6. The +100 works much better on 410 forks with a 180mm stem.
  7. Probolt.com measuring guide I found very useful
  8. I have a hope hub and now its just the cranks that are a letdown with stinky screw fit cog
  9. you can fix the copper washers. heat them with a blow torch and quench them in water. try taht 1st
  10. Halo still make loads of 24" rims. But a lit are disc only
  11. If you have got an old square taper tool or motorbike flywheel tool. Put two 5p coins in to adapt the tool to isis. Try a bike shop they won't charge more than 2-3 quid. Or a motorbike shop I know the hammer way works most times but if there that tight its gotta be a tool to do it
  12. What he just said. Failing that get the brake in the post ASAP to hope tech. Give there warranty dept a call
  13. Jaf carbon wrap a onza stem for this guy
  14. Dh riders use xc wheelsets for the wc finals. But one big hit wrong and the wheels colapse. They use them to gain a second or two. But would only ever use them once because they know the wheels can only take 5-10 mins of that abuse One of our kona team riders was given a set of easton haven wheels for heavy enduring riding, but after cracking the carbon rear rim loads he has to run an alloy rim on the rear. So it won't loose air from cracks. If you use that road stem it would be ok for possibly one days riding then any more and you will be on borrowed time. I hope for your sake you have nine lives
  15. Disc brake advice from a trials nun, priceless Disc brake advice from a trials nun, priceless
  16. What he said sounds likely to be the problem
  17. The primo axle is 2mm to small for the hope bb. I will measure the gxp bb adaptors today they may just make it work ? Primo do make a euro bb though why not just fit that http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/product/3955/Primo_Euro_Bottom_Bracket?gclid=CN7G1fPv07cCFYTItAodTCwASw
  18. Tba avid bb brakes have one moving brake pad. All juicys, elixirs have two moving pistons. Older hopes were terible for power. The old mono brakes were horrible. Only since the x2 brakes have hope even been worth considering. Back when hope were crap. I was using avid codes and juicy because those brakes had that same powerful bite the older Hayes hfx9 had Pretty much most new dh brakes have a more powerfull initial bite these days. I find the hope trialzone is the only sharp brake I found without the pads moving around in the caliper.
  19. Here are a few checks I do on my brakes. Take the pads out check the pad surface is a dull Matt finish if its polished give it the sand paper. If the pad surface looks dark and loose also give it the sand paper but also leave them on the side and wait ten mins to see if te light dusty surface gets any dark spots. If it does it has oil on the pad if the spots line up with the holes on the back of the pad the came from the brake piston you have a leak. If its random its of the disc.
  20. Make a bearing press out of a threaded bar and some huge thick washers. Then refit the bb bearings. For what's happening. The bearings are not fitted square in the frame, or you have damaged the races by hammering them into the frame
  21. any news on these ? i really want a set as my trialtech bb is getting toward a year and half old now and these onza cranks suck eggs
