  1. Damn. It is indeed. Although, again coming from my good friend Collin: Figure n [1-16 removed] 17 Informal to be consistent with expectation: -- that figures And I've warped that definition enough in my head to decide I am, in fact, correct and you suck. Only messing EDIT: On topic anyone? I'm disappointed that this topic title is misleading and in fact we are in no danger today at the very least.
  2. For the same reason as the spelling bee... I figure that anyone who rights (sic) like that watches too much TV, which is mainly American crap and would understand 'periods' better than 'full stops'. Honest.
  3. Collins Dictionary > Spelling Bee it's listed without a hyphen in there...
  4. I have a habit of using too many periods, but that's just f**king ridiculous. Go back to school then people might take your input into probably the only serious, on topic thread on TF seriously.
  5. now THERE'S a name I'd completely forgotten about!
  6. I had the exact same problem, albeit with a Polo, for the past couple of days and can point you in the direction of a few things to try out first because ultimately they are both VWs! 1. Turn the ignition to the point just before engaging the starter motor and leave it there for a good 30 seconds before turning on the engine. This supposedly tells the ECU to check some boring things in some cases, although didn't work for me. 2. Try disconnecting the battery and leaving it disconnected for an hour or so. Write down any key codes you need for your radio first! This should reset the ECU and when you turn the car back on it should re-calibrate the throttle body to the right idle speed. 3. Clean the throttle body with some good carb cleaner, rather than me type it out you can look elsewhere on the net for how to do this on a golf. 4. Change the temp sender - again do a google search to find out how. If you do them in that order you should hopefully cure the problem before having to spend any money!
  7. Perhaps if a fly managed to wedge itself between the drivers contact lens and his eye he may be forced to put on the brakes and bring the train to a standstill... it's a long shot I know.
  8. Haha, the memories! I had that too, with many early teens wondering what the f**k it was all about..
  9. How come I can't find my posts from further back than my "comeback" last year... Would the board have deleted all my old posts when I was inactive for a fair while? I would be quite intrigued to see how much more of a c*nt I was back then! Member number 500 ish, how many of those first 500 are still active?
  10. If you're having trouble finding it online then feel free to PM me your postcode and I'll find one for you?
  11. if I was into that sort of thing, I'd sig that.

Don't have any of the scrolling issues due to laptop using page up/down buttons. So far I have zero complaints, everything's super quick, spell check works a charm and no crashes so far..

Looking very FF3 so far, but with a more intuitive UI. Will post more findings as they come
  16. Funnily enough I'm one of the 20+ males, 22 near enough. I totally understand where you're coming from and will shut up.
  17. because I like to get second, third etc opinions...
  18. Same reason as me, you posted in this topic. Rather than edit to make myself clear, I'll stick by my original and say everyone posting in here should go to a GUM clinic. Tell them I sent you, I'm a regular in all of them...
  19. Surely a post that is worth banning someone for should be memorable? Whatever - you continue with your "I'm a mod and I'm going to wave my God stick wherever possible", and I'll continue wondering how you got in the position. On topic: It's been said that everyone should be serious in this topic - which is fair enough - but I've got to say one bit of advice should really outweigh any other in this topic (and no, I'm not the first to say it. And no, I don't think I'm superior than anyone else for bringing it up again - i just think it's right): If you have any reason to post in this topic, you should be on your way to a GUM clinic. The opinions of a bunch of (mainly) teenage boys will not be better than that of a trained professional. This is your HEALTH we're talking about.
  20. Do it, senior members are well immune aren't they? resists. temptation.
