  1. Great little venue! Can't make it for this, but if you haven't played there before you'll enjoy it if you can get enough people along. We've played there a few times and it can either be nutty as f**k or the biggest anti climax in the world. Sure it'll be a good one this time of year, good luck!

    Alpine Bikes

I know the shop well, Alpine Bikes was one of my clients for MBR for quite a while! Working boxing day would be shit, so glad I'm not back in till the 5th Jan.

Sounds like a great deal, do you work there? If you do this might be taken as advertising... Don't know for sure though! I know that if I was living up that way I'd be grabbing a pair.
  4. Really wish I realised when I changed the name on that account that it would change in everything I had already posted. Oops. But yes... well noticed...
  5. I'm not completely savvy, but I'd expect you can right click on the card in My Computer, and check the permissions in there. Make sure it's checked for write permissions...
  6. Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah The single most beautiful cover song in the world. And 2nd in the chart race at the moment.... Get it to beat that xfactor wank.
  7. I read about this on damninteresting.com at some point and thought it was just as awesome then as I do now that I've been reminded of it. Cheers

I give up. No, wait. I will after this: You're being a complete f'in numpty at the moment. Boswell didn't make any of those pointsBoswell never said whether he agreed with the sentiments of what he quotedBoswell does post a lot of shit topics, but this one would have been valid if you and "Gok Wan" hadn't jumped all over it within 3 seconds. If you READ what I've already said, you will see I f**kING AGREE WITH YOU about the text that Boswell quoted. Now I give up.

unfortunately you've just completely missed my point. I was saying I dont think it's a completely shit topic, because it's something that some people will have different views on and that's the whole point of a forum, surely? Like I said in my first post, I don't think it's discrimination and I'm agreeing with you on that. All Boswell wanted to do was find out peoples opinions on it, and you gave him one - which is the point. All I'm saying is that that fact alone means that it's not a shit topic, because if it was that shit you wouldn't have had anything to say about it. Geddit?

To be fair this is the best of them so far, surely that should be encouraged rather than just having us old lot decide whether something is topic worthy. We could get really pedantic and say that generally things will only make you happy or angry/sad so just post everything in those threads. f**k it, lets get rid of all of them and have a "things that make you feel something, that everyone must agree with" thread.

I don't think so. Although I dont agree with the original reason for the topic (i think the insurance companies do a pretty good job at getting the premiums about right), what gives you the right to decide what is a good topic or not? Would you tell you mates to shut up if they decided to chat about it in the pub with you because it was an interesting point? Plus, if it's that shit why are you replying with a solid, well thought out point? Come on, at least simps had the decency to not be such a pr*ck about it. edit: f'in swear filter
  12. muse - origin of symmetry, citizen erased at the mo...
  13. Those would sit in a MK4 quite nicely as well I imagine... Don't know about the back seat though... hmn. Out of interest, how much are those going for? EDIT: remove pics

His original, fairly innocent, blindingly obvious (to everyone but you, evidently) comment. YOU starting the name calling. YOU being patronising. Harsh, but fair given what he was replying to, followed but a great point explaining what he meant. i.e. it makes more numerical sense to count from the smallest unit up. "Are you American?" was probably just a question asked because you were jumping on a small dig at Americanisms. I didn't PM it, but you clearly needed it explaining step by step. Clear?

To be fair, Fletch called him an idiot first. I think it was a fair retort being as it was blindingly obvious that "Anal" knew they have a different date system and was just saying it was stupid.

This is my feeling too. To go with your bullet points: It could have been: a jokey swipe at americanismsa way of pointing out that they actually took their date system from europe and then changed it needlessly.

Glad to hear it's all going well so far Andy, keeping positive is at least half the battle in my eyes!

but what if they use the 7th anniversary to tie it in with the 7/7 bombings in london? If they haven't thought of that then they've missed a trick...
  20. This definitely used to be true with Linux, but now that we have distro's like Ubuntu some people find that just burning the disk right is the hardest bit! As has already been mentioned Dave, you need to get hold of some good burning software and get it to burn the ISO to disk. As far as I'm aware, all the newest Ubuntu disks are 'live' CDs, which means you can try it out before you commit to installing it - this is definately worth doing if you don't have a clue what to do...
  21. Fair enough, sorry about that then
  22. Do you know what (sic) means? And did you not notice that I specified that we weren't in danger yet? It's not even running at full capacity - as has been mentioned already - till 2010. Fair enough people picking holes when I'm wrong, but you're just being a knob.
