  1. A very nice vid, only one thing to say, and I know this might sound kind of patronising (and hypocritical) but with the kind of stuff your doing, you really ought to wear a melmet a bit more, some of those stacks looked pretty lucky. And before anyone says it, I know I don't wear a helmet all that often, but I'm not attacking the kind of massive stuff thats in this video. Sweet vid man, keep 'em coming. (N) Rich
  2. I only went for the day, honestly I didn't think it was as good as the last couple of years, mainly down to some of the shit happening in the trials arena. Watching Sam trying to struggle thgouh a stupidly hard section on someone elses bike was just plain horrible, I even heard Matt saying it wasn't fair, but meh Sam didn't seem phased. Other than that, Giles Wolf could do with resitting GCSE maths, maybe then he could adequately guage what twelve foot really is, but yeah, a good day out. Quote of the day, Porter: "TWELVE f**kING FEET MY GINGER ASS!" See you there next year. Rich
  3. Ditto, but then for someone who does english literature at a-levels, I really should have spotted that myself... (Y) Rich
  4. Ryan Leech is bar none the coolest guy in trials. (Y) I don't know if the vid would help my riding (Bi-King didn't really do much for me) but I'll probably buy it anyway just because its got Ryan Leech in it. Rich
  5. The two tree ride pics, the first pic of the gap between the rocks (with pretty in pink in the background) and the gap from the rail to bench all looked amazing. Nice pics Rich
  6. You not coming to NASS dave, even for the just the day? :S I'm doing a comp in devon on the sunday, sorry terry. Rich
  7. Nice pics rob, as usual. You'll have to get in touch for a ride sometime, I havn't ridden barnstaple in years! Rich
  8. Will definately be having one of those, nice job nick. (Y) Rich
  9. Thanks for the replies fellas, you given me a lot more to think about. We're in negotiations with one of the town councillors whose sympatetic to our dilema, and these are definately points I'll put in front of him which he can then put in front of the body he works with. Thanks again Rich
  10. UPDATE: I got a reply back from the council saying that the kind of risks involved (health and safety) would be too high for the council to take, and they also said that they doubted that any other council would take such risks. Essentially it was a politely worded rejection. We did however meet a twon councillor the other day whilst out riding who was very sympathetuc and has promised to help us in any way he can. Other that that, if anyone knows of any trials parks in the UK that have been successfully (and legally) built with council backing, I'd really appreciate hearing from you. They did however say that a new skatepark was going to be built so we could ride there. Despite the fact that there are three already. Rich
  11. LEVER: XTR CALIPERS: XTR CABLES: Avid (with flak jackets) PADS: Aztec (Echo Pads on the way from selectbikes) BOOSTER: Tektro RIM:D521, with a light grind This is only a stand in brake until I get my new frame with discs. Works OK though. Rich
  12. GHAA  AAABLAHGAf**kINGEENG :'( OEDIDEE (Y) AAAGAAAA :- :P  ...eengoedidee won't let me download it... Rich EDIT: Computers just decided to start working again, will edit in a minute.
  13. See you at NASS hopefully if I can find a ticket jockey who's not genuinely trying to f**k me over. Rich
  14. Will be there but only for the saturday. But a couple of Taunton guys who aren't on the forum are going up for the duration, I'll see if I can get them to get in touch. Rich
  15. Not even kidding, there was some stuff in that video I can't do now, on my leeson. And I ride Expert at competitions. :'( Damn cool riding dude, you should definately get yourself something newer than the Zaskar, there are so many frames better suited to trials, and some which still have that old skoolness about them. Leeson's are pretty good :-" Glad to see someone getting back into it, have fun. (Y) Rich
  16. Looks pretty interesting, though the twin top tube design does look like something Leeson coughed up a few years back as a one off, meh. The thing I find with rear discs in comparison to maguras, is that to make the maggie work well, you have to get really special pads, or grind your rims which after a while starts to severely rape them, or really carefully apply tar to the rim surface, which more often than not sticks to the inside of your pocket and is bastardly annoying. If you pour a pint of water over an avid mechanical, front or rear, it locks up as hard as a magura. Go to a comp when its raining, the discs will just work better and better. I used to run the avid mechanicals front and rear and I'm going back to them soon (3 weeks, roughly...), and as far as I could see the only problem was if you back wheel something, and then come back off it (I think BMXers call this a blunt), the force you put on the disc tabs is obscene, and leads to snappage. Nice frame though, should be interesting to see how it rides. Rich
  17. Am downloading now. Just been upgraded by BT to a 2.2Mbps. Current download time; 6mins.... :D" :P Rich
  18. As far as I remember they were both free last time, but I havn't competed for a few years. Rich
  19. NASS is just a damn fun weekend. I usually only go up for the day (I live about half an hour from shepton mallet) theres the MAD course to piss about on and of course the comp to take part in, if you get bored you can go watch the motorcross the BMX, or any of the other dozens of sports that are showcased by some of the based riders in world at NASS. If you stay for the night theres live music (I think INME headlined last year and were pretty good), lost of alcohol, pikey warfare to endulge in, and just general fun in the form of all out mayhem. Rich
  20. Sounds interesting, just wondering what categories you'd have for this comp (beginner, inter, expert and elite?). It's a hell of a long way from me but I may have to give it a try. Rich
  21. I think I'm leaving taunton at about 8 so I'll be there at about 9 (only going up for the day, the joys of living so damn close... ) Rich
