Its always going to be an interesting topic; Ot Pi, Ben Savage, Kurt Brain and many others all went from strength to strength after changing what they rode but that doesn't mean it'll make all of us better. It affects different people different ways. Alex Pavlou (one of the Taunton riders) recently purchased a Zoo Pitbull (now replaced with a Kot MS2) after riding mod for about a year and has taken to it like a duck to water. The bugger can almost tap as high as I can now! But then someone like Sam Wheeler, unbelieveable on Mod, rides at the worlds and everything, looks rather spasticated on a stock (no offence Sam :P ). Some people can, some can't, but if you've got the money and fancy giving it ago, go for it, in most cases peoples riding generally changes for the better. You'll just get rather a lot of slagging from those old school riders for no longer riding a 'proper bike'. Like me. :'( Hope that helps. Rich

My koxx bars have lasted well over two years of use, showing no signs of damage yet. And they're uber wide so you can cut them down if needs be. Tried and tested by a whole lot of very good riders (not including myself in the list of course... :D ). Rich

Thanks for the feed back Jonny, glad you liked it. I remembered seeing a film where at the start they had load of flashing images with news reports and subliminal clips of actual filmed footage and thought, I'd really like to make a video like that, so I did. :) I don't quite follow what you mean by interfearing with Nicky G's footage? You can expect the same quality of riding from Doneys in both my vid and Nicks, just his will look about x1000 more professional because, well, he is. Thats cool, I've just been banging on about making this video for about the last year and I've finally got about 90% of it done, and just wanted to give people something to look forward to and perhaps let people know it wasn't somthing I'd scrapped. Apart from the lack of point to it, did you like the video otherwise? Cheers for the comments. Rich

It's almost finished and I was going to make an individual teaser for it but I really havn't got the time, so... Yeah I couldn't breathe too good because I took in a big gulp of water as I went under, the immediate shock nearly knocked me out! Sorry to point out stuff like this, but Seb being punched was not assault. The guy saying "You need to be f**king knocked out," thats assault. Assault is defined as making any person feel fear of immediate violence; assault has nothing to do with physical contact. Battery is any unlawful touching: groping a girl in a club, shoving someone in the street, etc. Battery can be anything where one person touches another person who does not want to be touched. Then there are the degrees of damage, which are ABH (Actual Bodily Harm) GBH (Greivous Bodily Harm) and then it goes into manslaughter and murder territory as the legislation leaves the area of non-fatal offences against the person. What happened to Seb was ABH, because there is actual, visable, dibiltating damage caused. I can't remember the exact sentencing rules, but it is not totally unheard of for people to be imprisoned for up to fifteen years for something like this. It's a very fine line between ABH and GBH, but essentially, GBH charges indicate to the courts that the defendant was carrying an excessive amount of malice which was vented on a person in a way which would put most people off their breakfasts. This guy just punched Seb so if it went to court, it would be ABH (unless he had a really, really good lawyer...) People like this don't deserve to get away with it, but they so often do. Its your call with what you want to do Seb, I'm just giving you the facts. Bad luck, and I hope it gets better soon. (Y) Rich

For all those who don't get the CRC newsletter e-mails or check in on the site all that often, the guys at chain reaction have anounced massive discounts over the summer, ranging from anything up to 80% of selected products. For example, a pair of Azonic Moto DH gloves have been reduced from 30pounds down to just 6quid! The RockShox Ruby SL 700C forks, usually RRP300pounds, are down to just 70 pounds! I've competed against James Porter and beaten him and seen Gavin Bedford ride many times; They aren't worrying me. It's the idea of competeing against the people who not only inspired me to get into trials, but the peopole who inspire me to push it further. THAT WORRIES ME. They should have an emoticon on here for shear dread. Rich
