  1. Unfortunate as to say the remote possibilities of me going are entirely and associatively acceptable, the general likelihood of my persevering and enlightening soulfulness being present at this exemplary event is irrefutable.
  2. Err... no? Pedal kick is like a static up something, so like a sidehop to rear wheel but whilst pointing forwards. Your actually on about a tap.
  3. You think thats bad, you should have smelt it when i had to cut the freshly formed skin so i could get to the green pussed-up layer underneath so i could clean it out properly.
  4. I found some pictures of mine Notice the fat i had to push back under before i put a plaster on it And what happens when you go riding all day on it with dirty old shin pads and it gets slightly infected....
  5. My bunnyhop style doesn't compress forks Swing the bike forwards from underneath you rather than pushing down then suck up the back once the front is off the floor.
  6. I'm definately taller than bigman He's like 2 inches shorter than me Biggest feet? I've got uk 15's so quite possibly.
  7. According to the interweb, book a ticket 3 days in advance and you'll get it cheaper.
  8. Maybe, but bitch slaps are only from girls so you can't.... oh wait, yeah, you still can.
  9. So the computer doesn't display anything on the screen once its on? Why didn't you mention this in the first post? Unfortunately with pc repairs you can't just rule certain things out because others work. Unless you know exactly what's wrong with it its usually a case of trying new components until you find one that's causing the problem. The fact that the machine is switching on by itself is a sign that something is out of place with the initial power start up sequencing. This narrows it down to motherboard, front panel connections and power supply unit. I said try the PSU first as its the easiest to swap out and they're pretty cheap in comparison to a new motherboard etc. There's also the fact that something isn't right with the psu if the computer is switching on once you enable the mains power switch at the wall socket, this DOES point to it being a faulty PSU and like i said, you can't really know for sure unless you try a replacement one. Just because you see pretty lights doesn't mean its 100% A-O.K. If fitting a new PSU isn't doing it then undo and remove all the front panel connections and unplug them from the motherboard. Remove all non-essential devices (go down to just one stick of ram, remove disc/floppy drives, remove hard drives). Plug in just the I/O (power) connection from the front panel into the motherboard and try hitting the on switch. If all of the fails, replace your motherboard.
  10. If you get that stitched up you don't have to wait for it to heal You can go riding again the next day. As for technique... this might be useful
  11. It wasn't overlooked, he said the reset switch doesn't work either, which you usually just press and release, instead of holding down
  12. Flipps Shin on a leicester ride. And how it was at the end of the day... notice the second one on his left shin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdpmzlLy8zU...

    Alcohol Units

It takes a lot of drink to affect me really, so when i go out i often drink several beers and around a litre of vodka. I know its bad, i know its too much in one go, but i'm genuinely under the belief that my body can handle it. I often go to the pub in the evenings to play pool with my housemate, and i may have one or two there... but thats about it. Unless i'm with friends and we're drinking socially i don't bother, hardly causing me massive problems in my life. I also don't get the uni guys who go out for the evening, spend less than £10 on some little alcopoppy type things and come home off their trolleys. I've never been able to do that, i wish i could though so life would be cheaper.
  14. Sounds like your power supply is acting up, probably the power control section. Might even be the power controls on the motherboard thats acting up. If its not switching the computer off from within windows by going through the start menu and then the power off button then i'd say its your PSU that needs replacing. They can be pretty cheap or expensive depending on how much you want to spend. Might be worth picking up a cheap £10 one off ebay to see if it fixes it first though. @ Circus....
  15. I'm not joking when i say this... but there is a chance i might not be able to attend. I'm working the friday before and depending on how long its going to take i might be camping in surrey overnight and coming home on the saturday. Will have to find out some more info.
  16. See, i don't think i did. You said that you didn't know anything about it, then said that if he does regular exercise he shouldn't worry, which is bad advice. Given that a few people have mentioned it might be a spontaneous pneumothorax, and the symptoms fit... telling him not to worry about it if he does regular exercise (which is how a ruptured lung is often caused) is not going to be good advice.
  17. They do stop pins from cutting your flesh though. Which is the only reason i wear them. I don't mind getting hit on the shin really hard and getting a bruise/bump... i do mind having a gaping line on my leg though.
  18. The veggies i find are hardly restrictive at all. They're made of wetsuit material (neoprene) so are completely flexible except for a small insert in the middle of the front shin-bone section that stops the pedals hitting your leg so much.
  19. It does with me, not the pain, but i only ever seem to twat them hard enough to scratch my leg open to the bone and then its a few weeks of constant cleaning and making sure it doesn't get infected and having to wear shin pads over the top so i don't hit it again in the same place and cause even more damage. The shin pads also get hot an sweaty which introduces bacteria and makes it not so pleasant at all. If ever i did stop wearing shin pads during riding, i'd replace them with a hook needle and some thread so i can stitch my leg back together mid-ride. It is easier to just wear shin pads most of the time. So what if your leg gets hot and sweaty, its not like your t-shirt doesn't either.
  20. How is regular excercise going to help prevent a ruptured lung? If anything, its going to increase the risk, as you need to be doing something strenuous at the time in order to tear it Go to the doctors/hospital and tell them you what happened and say its been followed with regular feelings of light-headedness and shortness of breath. It might be a little white lie, but they'll treat it more seriously and get to the bottom of whats gone on. And they can't really diagnose a ruptured lung over the phone anyway
  21. Nah, just checked... my heart is still the right way round. My arms are sunburnt though, so you were nearly right.
  22. *Awaits bongo to come along and mention my views on heart pain from the last thread* Seriously though, i'd get it looked at, you might have done all manner of things, but for it to happen during excercise would suggest its not something minor.
  23. This all seems pretty petty to be honest. This forum is run well and the people who do the work behind the scenes actually have a sense of humour, which is a lot better than having it almost autonomous with no sense of personality to the forum. I can never say that a thread name change has made me angry or annoyed, and i can see its been done with the intention of humour... like the current photatowaffley thread or whatever its called. With this thread and some of the reactions i reckon some of the members are just too uptight, and actually can't broaden the way they look at things. This isn't the first time i've seen a thread like this one, and they always end up being a slagging match against the mods/admin by the people who have such a short sense of reality that they actually get annoyed by simple little things like this. At the end of the day, like has already been said. The mods are there to assess a situation and deal with it in an appropriate manner. If a threads been created purely for the sake of bitching and moaning, it'd probably be better having it closed as it'll stop people arguing with each other and will help keep this place more like the happy hippy family it should be, with bees butterflies and love. Ours is a competitive sport by nature, but we shouldn't be so competitive on the forum either, we should be able to kick back, relax and have friendly chatter with mates rather than bitch and snipe comments at people as if they are our rivals.
  24. I can static up to backwheel at just under bar/stem height, so say roughly 33-36inches.
