  1. I think that maybe with the reputation that base's have for cracking around there it might be a bit of a bad idea to try it... however i think that some people hav beeen riding with their base's like this with no problems... I havn't heard of any of them actually snapping though after they've had a crack in them.... It's completely up to you though. I like seats because i'm lazy :"> (and it matches the bike)
  2. Nice site.. Very arty looking.... It takes a misssion to open on a 56k modem though... More vids and pics... but you done well!! (Y)
  3. That uni is a cool place to ride.. we never get kicked out either.... I can't download the video at the minute though because my colleges computers have blocked all downloads.. (Y)
  4. okay... anybody who lives in/around leicester add me to msn... krisboats@hotmail.com :ermm:
  5. The carbon fibre patches feel more like flexible plastic not that far from like a milk bottle or summit.... I also remembered that you could get some of the new coust. forks that are in the prototype stage at the min.... They were in mbuk last month... They look kinda like white flastic at the top and then carbon fibre rods for the fork legs and then white plastic at the bottom for the wheel mounts. I reckon they'd cost a bit though... :ermm:"
  6. I gotta revolver hub but it's the one with gears.... but i can still tell you that the hub is really quite strong and i havn't managed to bend or snap the axle yet. It should come with the allen key bolts in the box. they work a treat and the wheel never slips when using these. The bearings work really well and the wheel seems to spin forever. However the bearings don't feel as smooth as the ones in my front onza hub, this said they are still much much smoother than looses bearings. The seals.... well... ermm.... don't really know much about the seal because i've only ever looked in it once when the grub screw on the drive side casing had worked loose and my bearing cap fell off when i took my wheel out..... i only briefly glanced inside but whilst they have got little rubber bits in there I don't reckon they're 100% sealed.... You can just pull the bearing caps off with your hands..... my onza ones don't come off with pliers... I'll take a look at it in a bit and take a picture depending on how well my camera is working... hope it helps kris
  7. bit of a mankey example but stems can be found...
  8. gettin a bit silly with them now.... :P
  9. If You have an old skool style seat setup....
  10. oh cool. I only really ever take my wheel out when i've got a flat tyre at the minute anyway so that sounds great. Where can u get them from and how much are they?
  11. Are you running them both at the same time on the same brake? how did you get a v-brake booster on past the maggies quickrelease lever or are you running it with two bolts? I think that may be a solution if I can do that, keep my customly hacked away booster and then remove my quick release lever and fit another v-brake booster on with a standard bolt... like i have on the left side of my maggie at the minute. Has anybody else done this and does it make things like removing the wheel a bit of a bitch?
  12. i got the pictures off the camera after a bit of a struggle and a bit more swearing but they're here. Brake booster: and the mech hanger which on second thoughts might be the same as a pic of an 04 hanger i've seen. Front: Rear: I wud cut the seattube down but my seat clamp is fairly chunky so i reckon there would be more space if i leave it at that size.
  13. right i've got a metallic red base ta26 and i dunno whether its an 04 or 05.... i think its an 05.... maybe... :"> (ordered about 2weeks before xmas) anyway the mech hanger is different to all the pics i've seen on here and mines bent quite severly, also i need to know what size or brake booster types i can fit into it without it touching on the seat tube, i cut a nice big curve out of my standard maggie booster. preferrably a nice carbon fibre booster. i wud put pics on here but me camera is a bit funky and won't let me import pics onto the computer at the minute.. :ermm: i'll get sum pics of the hanger and the bosster if any of u really wanna see it. anyway... cheers Kris EDIT: oh yeah looked at this booster... woodman booster
  14. xbox all te way.... sold my ps2 to get one and live is awesome. plus you can get loads of different shaped controllers now so its all good.
  15. Havn't seen you yet but I know bein the only rider around sucks so if you ever wanna go for a ride gimme a bell, here's my msn addy: krisboats@hotmail.com
  16. I also had that problem with acor spongy grips, only happens to some people though, my mate is fine with his. here's the basic theory though (IMO). If your using the foam grips you need to hold onto them tighter than rubber grips to stop your hands slipping, Therefore you get major huge blisters and sometimes cramp in your fingers. Try ODI longneck bmx grips and cut the flanges off them, nice and soft, really grippy and last over a year with little wear. and for £6.00 it wont hurt to try em but it might hurt you not to try em.
  17. does anybody in here live/ride in or around leicester, I go riding there quite a bit and am starting to get a bit bored and wondered what spots or nearby areas (like loughboro etc.) are any good to ride in? Spots I know of: Crown Court Leicester Uni Leicester College The roundabout bowls near sainsburys The square blocks near st georges retail park Any help would be great. Let me know if u wanna go for a ride as well.
  18. I saw a programme on bbc or channel 4 a while ago about some guy and his kid who both did natural trials on unicycles on huge rocks. They're unicycles had raceline maggies on them with the brake lever being just underneath the front of the seat. I suppose either the guys on t.v. did custom jobs to fit the brakes or the peeps in these videos are trying to be cool like bmx'ers who ride brakeless. Still amazin though.
