  1. Can't believe that shitty Cygnet is £20k... Koxx Acidrop frame is currently £110...
  2. Very much doubt that would work unfortunately, not without a 180mm long BB axle or something... Or just to grow a pair and sort it out We've asked if they can try with the current tool but they won't do it - I'm convinced there's enough meat in the standard tooling to make it work... If they don't take 2 or 3 threads off with that silly chamfer and cut a bit into the arm it should work...
  3. Yeah, bit of a bummer but the 'bodge' you've worked out is defo a good one! For the amount of times you need to use the top cap I guess it's alright.
  4. Ah - well with a King the chamfers on the races are very small, so I've found they need to be 'overtight' to be tight enough for a trials bike (which is why I went off them a few years back). Fine on an XC bike as you aren't ragging the hell out of the bars/forks all the time, but mine was a bit of a pest on my trials bike unfortunately. The top wedge also isn't split, so they don't compress and grip your steerer when you tighten them down, meaning you need to get a lot of torque in the top cap bolt to make them feel tight. I would probably go with the 'nip top cap down then turn stem to tighten some more' system you've been using in the past
  5. I know what you mean, if you go to town on the top cap then it does have quite a bit of friction, but grease has always 'solved' that for me in the past. Sounds like there is something wrong with the headset in that case, you really don't need a lot of torque on the top cap to remove play. Which headset is it? Edit: Just been to check a bike with Inspired forks on it (same top cap system), it's possible to tighten the top cap by hand (ie. no tools) enough to remove play in the headset.

Ferrari Internatinal Assistance to the rescue again. Disappointed Vettel was fastest in 2nd practice today... Lewis and Jenson were flying for a while! Backtracking - went to Spa the other weekend and was sat at the bus stop on Sunday, so got to see allll the action! Nearly pooed myself when Lewis was scrubbing the wall, but was funny seeing Vettel screw himself over twice Looking forward to Quali and the next race!
  7. If it's getting to the point where it sticks even with grease, then it's definitely too tight... (As in, you're putting too much preload on your headset and backing off a bit will help your headset and solve the top cap problem.)
  8. Erm, I'm not sure what all this talk of washers and tape and coke cans is all about - just tightening the bolts (more specifically the top one) will do the job!
  9. Pretty sure there is a pin through the steerer (at the back maybe?). If so, might be worth drilling that out, you can always put a bolt and nut back in afterwards Not sure you can get replacement steerers for those forks that easily though...
  10. +1 Heating the hose isn't a good idea in my experience, just makes it more brittle once it's cooled down.
  11. They were awesome in Manchester on Saturday Very cool playing by the way, always wanted to do my 'own' music for a video but never got round to it...
  12. Nah it's a 'Stiky Lite' in 20" size, rather than 'Shift'. I think its a few grams lighter but about £15 more and the old ones are discontinued
  13. If only, try almost doubling that! I think it was £799 and that was when the Euro exchange rate was around 1.45/£. Recently it was around 1.05/£ which instantly makes what used to be a £799 frame £1103!
  14. Well I can do ABC, 123, XYZ, BBC, HIV, HMRC, DohRayMe and BFG so ner
  15. The thing is, you don't hold onto your front axle. If the head angle was 85 degrees, even with a 1020 wheelbase the bike would feel very long. The wheelbase by itself doesn't dictate how long the bike feels. Two 24" frames will be released separately, one V-Brake only and one Disc & 4-Bolt. The 26" will be 4-Bolt only.
  16. Sorry, that will have been a copy and paste from Conti website, I have changed it now - both the DK and RK are steel bead.
  17. As far as I know, there aren't many (only the SKF really springs to mind) ISIS BBs that are as tough as the Truvativ DH, it is over 400g after all!
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acronym_and_initialism Looks like they are the same thing?
