  1. Well having had a bit of a look through the car thread, it seems I'm not the only one into my VW's, so lets have some pics of yours! The current WIP And a bit of a money making project, which never seems to get done :$
  2. For a start I base my opinion on what I see and experience around me, not on what I'm told by the media. You think Britain even has an identity worth worrying about anymore? Imigrants do annoy me to a degree yes, they can drive without a driving licence, in a car without tax, without risk of being caught speeding. And why do you think so many immigrants come to this country? It certainly aint for the weather! It's an easy ride and we're too soft to change that. Why? If a black man called me a honky whitebread bitch I wouldn't claim it's racial descrimination/hatred, take it on the chin like anyone else would! Sticks and stones and all that! How would other countries and cultures react if say for example a few thousand Britains went to Pakistan and demanded they celebrate Chritmas and erected several churches in our name, it just wouldn't happen! Celebrate whatever religious festivals you want, but you can't expect to move to a new country and have them accommodate for it! I don't consider myself racist, I take people for who they are, but I think we as a nation need to have a re-think what racism actually is. It's not, the whole country is going down the pan, because in the end there'll be more people taking out of the pot than putting in, taxes already take the p*ss and we're heading towards a total economy collapse. And yes you guessed it, back to the whole point of my argument, it's because WE'RE TOO DAMN SOFT!
  3. Ahh I miss working at Halfords, was pretty good fun to be honest The head of Bikehut was a complete dick though, he didn't like that I could do his job better than him, so he would pick faults with everything I ever did, and being the brown noser to the boss he was, eventually got me fired for leaving some bars loose on a display bike... So I could put it on the display, jackass
  4. Following that story, Sooty decided to cancel his tour of Jamaica... Seriously though, political correctness has gone too far in this country, call a white British person a c*nt, it's because they're a c*nt, call a person of any other ethnic origin a c*nt it's because of their religion/skin colour and you're liable to be hung, drawn and quatered It's about time we had a government that aren't a bunch of complete pussys, stop making laws to rectify stupid laws and bring back some proper punishment
  5. Then don't read a topic called 'Any Of You Smoke?' how's that for an idea? Thanks for the valuable input though
  6. Thing with quitting is you've got to WANT to quit, I found it easier than expected to quit for a while, but I miss doing something with my hands and mouth, and since I don't have a girlfriend I just snack too much, and to be honest I felt healthier as a smoker... I have however gone from 10 fags and endless bongs/spliffs a day, to about 10 a week though I don't believe nicotine patches and gum really help much either, there is no substitute for smoke!
  7. Oooyer! Don't think I could earlier? I can get my wanted ad up now, and some more pics of my car I didn't feel especially cool when I was walking through town, p*ssing with blood with my face hanging off, then having a lip like an inflatable dinghy for a fortnight a few years back Exactly! I was just curious if and how many of you smoked, not trying to start any moral arguments smoking can kill, but in the short term it reduces lung capacity, makes you smell, makes you cough etc. But on the other side of the coin, nothing goes better with a cold pint of larger than a fag, you meet people you might otherwise have never spoken to (even moreso with the smoking ban in force) and (although probably psychological) calms you down So to the majority of you who don't/havn't/won't smoke, good! Don't start!
  8. Aye eBay, not riden this particular one yet, but my old one was perfect for me (can't really go into detail, I havn't riden for years and have nothing to compare to...) The guy you know, I say good on him, I won't sell this one for the world even if I never even ride it, selling my old one was the biggest cycling mistake I ever made! I'll get some more pics when it's done
  9. Or are we all healthy, clean living, sensible folk? Just curious I kinda started when I stopped biking, so I can see my shrivelled, raisin-like lungs being a problem now I want to start again
  10. Cheers fellas! And Simo, if your avatar is anything to go by, you might just like my car too
  11. Ace! I though it was just me who obsessively paused video's and glared at magazines to have exactly the same bike as one of the Martin brothers :$ So good that now I can finally have everything I always wanted 'cos it's all so old so costs nothing!! Look forward to seeing it!
  12. Frame was £31, whole bike has cost less than £250 so far (excluding the rear hub and front wheel) ...Many, many hours have been spent scouring the net and sitting on eBay It's almost an exact Hawziee rep, just what I always wanted
  13. Oop, I apologise in advance then
  14. As per my intro thread, I'm building myself the bike I always dreamed of to get back into it all (not the best pic I know, sorry) Spec is as follows - Giant Team Trials frame (#411) Fatty forks X-Lite Phatso on Hope Bulb rear wheel built 3 cross/radial Mavic X517 cd on Hope Mono front - radial (though it's not what I want...) Hope skewers Raceface System stem Roox Torque bars Raceface turbine LP cranks Filthy 'ard guard in gold in the post XTR front v Red HS33 to go on the rear with the REALLY oldskool CNC booster (needs bleeding still) FSA Pig headset It's not far off being done now, but it won't be my dream spec.. Still need - Pair of red Hope Ti-glides with the screw on/off disc adapters Red X517 (rare as rocking horse sh*t, can't find one anywhere!!!) Club Roost 2D pedals Old old style red Hope ti skewers And some tyres, not sure what yet though What do we think?
  15. How long have you been riding again for? I can't imagine I'm going to be anywhere near as fit as I was again in a hurry!! Ha, My hands always used to be knackered, got that to look forward to
  16. They're all in the credits cheif, I was on a similar mission years ago when I first saw the vids Still to this day never found a few of them though!
  17. Well, I used to pull a concentrating face, where I sucked my top lip (if you'd all like to do that now ) so when I went over my bars and smacked my chin I bit through my top lip, bit one of my front teeth in half and knocked the other so far back it was touching the roof of my mouth!!! After they stitched my lip up, they had to just use brute force to pull the whole one back into place and held them all together with a temporary brace, then once they were straight-ish took the nerves out of them (they had turned grey/black by this time) and rebuilt the broken one Needless to say I've never had any confidence whatsoever since As for my Norco, that's still the height of technology as far as I'm concerned, but I never did like the frame, geometry is aaalllll wrong for trials, hence the Giant Most of the stuff I've been watching in recent (within the last 3 years recent haha) vids is amazing!
  18. My Norco which is currently in bits while I use most of them to put on the Giant I'm building (I'll get pics of it when it's done) probably going to turn this into a jump or street bike My old Giant #005 - best bike I ever had, which is why I had to have another! Sold it to someone on here, would love to know if it's still going!!!
  19. First bike was a 2000/01 Saracen X-Ile, loved it to bits til some scumbag robbed it
  20. Well just thought I'd say hello.. Again My name is Rich, I used to frequent this forum as GiAnT, then as NoRcO, If anyone can remember me (which I very much doubt) I was a real little arsey b*stard! For which I now sincerly apologise! This was many years ago (6) when I quit trials due to breaking my face on a wall trying to tap my front wheel to hop up and a general loss of interest when I passed my driving test.. I since took up smoking, drinking and eating copius quantities of cheese, so something has to be done! Sooo, over the last couple of months I've been building the bike I always dreamt of back in the day - a full 2001/02 Martin Hawyes Giant replica with a few subtle personal touches, it's just about done just need a few finishing touches which I'm hoping someone on here might be able to help with once/if I get validated and it'll be nice to get back in touch with modern day trials at the same time Anyway, enough babbling, I'll get some pics up of my bike soon as so you can all have a giggle at the sheer retro-ness of it So... Hello!
