i seen someone selling one of these silent slutch hubs for fairly cheap and i was wondering whats the deal with them? 62 engagement points seemed like a bargain for £15... whats the catch people, obviously its not chris king, but for £15 (second hand) can it be all that bad? cheers, lemee know what the story is with these... i know this doesnt really deserve its own topic, but i was watching extreme sports today and something trialsy came up about the something elvis festival. at first it was interviewing martin hawes but then it went onto some trials and there was this dude with long black hair riding an echo (team?) mod... i think it was sam wheeler (if thats his sir name, but if not im sorry because i dont actually know you lol) so just letting you know if your reading this topic... and you didnt know it, you where on tv so well done... nice one! anyways... bye Jonny

to be honest mate your spec sounds absolutely mint, no need to go spending money when you dont need to. firstly i would try to make ur back brake as sound and as good as you can, so make sure your rims are ground and you have a water bleed and maybe some plaz/heatsink blue/coust pads. so thats the most important thing atm, also the front v brake is pimped so dont diss keep it but just set it up so its as sharp as you want it? youl want some modulation if you want to be able to front gap etc. the truvative cranks are mint absolutely solid cranks so i wouldnt really change them? but if you do i would go for some sort of front freewheel cranks or even middleburns, something with a round bash as they suit bases nicest dont just go searching for the most expensive parts because sometimes cheaper parts can feel just as good on the bike, take it from me, i went from an echo stem to a mad stem and it made my bike feel mint, depending on how ur base feels with your stem, i would change it to something fairly short with little rise because my mates base has a fairly short viz stem and it makes it handle so nice and it gives the bike such a mean look... well i have mumbled on for long enough so im gonna leave the final decision to you because its your bike and your money cheers Jonny edit: didnt realise i had written so much... and theres so much more i could have said... eg tyres etc... il leave it to these guys to help you now, any pics dude?

just thinking about having a leicester ride on sat/sun this week as its bin a while since anyone has come down to ride here and it seems like the only interest is in places like nottingham when there are actually some nice spots to ride here in leicester. ok well i was thinking it should be just a casual fun ride... meaning not too late but not too early... maybe about 12 on saturday at the leicester trainstation? should be a good ride and maybe a chance for you to ride somewhere new. if not then hows loughborough trainstation sound? let me know if u fancy riding there on sat, theres a few of us going now. let me know anyways cheers Jonny

i would go for the eno front freewheel to be honest... no point in spending that extra uneeded money on something that has pretty much the same performance (engagements) or if u can wait why not go for the new tensile freewheel when that comes out? 60 eps for £30... bargain Jonny

yeah its quite shocking really when you find out how much your bike is actually worth... yet u still throw it off walls etc... just the love of the sport i guess, my bike is worth around a grand... yet i still find myself wanting to spend alot more on it... still have to buy an eno Jonny...

hmmm... i can do crown court gap in leicester easy... and thats 81" which is what 6ft 9"? furthest i have done rolling was 7 and a half ft. did an 8ft 6" drop gap off my garden wall to a pallet... my garden wall being about bar hieght.
