  1. I think I could count the amount of times I've ridden in the last 4/5 years on one hand! Anyway, here's a few clips riding an Onza Genesis for the second time after owning it for a year!
  2. Inb4 topic gets closed due to petty argument over power vs technique or TGS being crap. I'm sure I posted a topic about gym and nutrition and the benefits it would have on riding not so long ago... I think Damon is a great example of how someone can gain more height and distance on moves by using weights and diet to improve the power they can put into moves. In relation to the clips - he is a monster, I could watch clips of him ride over and over again. In my opinion technique and power are both equally important. If anyone wants to argue that squats, deadlifts and other explosive exercise have no affect on the power one is able to put into sidehops and gaps go for it.
  3. Big riding man, always liked Garys style! Sides and gaps are looking very big now - need meet up for a ride soon man!
  4. Looks like a tidy job, how are you tensioning the chain? Any plans on making this set up work with snail cams?
  5. Looks like a tidy job! Just thinking the hub looks as though it is slightly shorter on the driveside than none driveside, would there be any problems with the hub being off center/out of dish?
  6. I will be game if I can sort out a bike, my frames a pile
  7. Great riding from both of you! Lookin forward to riding with you both soon
  8. Been having some real trouble with brake alignment and chain tension on my speedrace solo 2010 26" frame. I thought I would have fixed the problem by using a half link in the chain but now the wheel is pulled so far back that it the hs33 brake clamps be pulled all the way down and the slaves have to be positioned at a silly angle in order for the pads not to hit the tyre. Without the half link the chain is really tight and the snail cams cannot be used to tension the wheel. Another issue I found with this frame is that the brake mounts are do not have enough depth - the bolt bottoms out before it holds the brake clamps. Stripped one of the mounts as a result of this. Feel like i'm having a nightmare -has anyone had any similar problems? I don't particularly fancy using a sprung or spoke tensioner as then it would be pointless to be using a frame with horizontal drop outs.
  9. Last minute group ride, if your available you should come down. I have found loads of new spots! Meeting at Limestreet station at around 10 till half past.
  10. Bike looks awesome! Looks like you have the bar angle just right too for street - the stance of the bike looks mean! Believe me guys this rides really really nice, this build is light weight aswell considering the spec is solid. Don't knock it just because it isn't an inspired like pretty much every other 24" brakeless build!
  11. Frame looks really nice! Some trialtech high risers would really finish off this build nicely
  12. Alrite mate, you could either use 2 10mm spacers underneath the stem or a 10mm and a 5mm below the stem and then a 5mm between the stem and topcap. Both should work, however it would look neater with the spacers below the stem.
  13. I'm made up to see GT putting their brand on a trials frame, this could be very positive for the sport! The frame itself looks really interesting, the rear end looks stiff with the rear triangle being similar in design to the t-rex, 04 pitbull and coustellier whilst competing with the weight of modern trials frames. I like the internal headset too, gives the frame a really neat look. We need to keep in mind that this is only a proto frame and the finished product could be much lighter with headtube cut outs etc. Looking forward to hearing any updates!
  14. I might be game, Ideally I need a set of cranks with a freewheel on though because mine are loose on the splines Can anyone help out? Will pay top dollar
  15. You could try wrapping an elastic band between the lever blade and bars to take away some of the spring from the lever.
  16. f**k that was cool, some really creative and interesting moves in there. I enjoyed it
  17. Looked like a good ride wish I hadn't missed it! Good to see Danny back out on the bike aswell
  18. Make sure that the bolts are gripping the frame when tightened, I had to put spacers on the axle so that the they wheel actually tightened and didn't 'bottom out' when the bolts were tightened. Also are you using notched or smooth snail cams? I prefer notched as they are easier to set up and there is less chance of the wheel sliding.
  19. There is definitely big selection of proteins supplements on the market, which one you go for all depends on what you are looking to achieve. One of my favourite proteins is Gold standard whey protein - I rate it highly. I have used it both successfully when I am cutting and also when trying to gain lean muscle mass. Some little tips I have picked up are that adding oats to your morning shake is a great way to get slow releasing energy from your first meal. You can also add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter to boost your post-workout protein shake. Another protein I have used which I rate highly as a post-workout supplement is After Glow by Biorythm ADS. It tastes great, mixes well and is fact acting.
  20. Wow what a great location! That was very cool, great feel to the video - almost asif you were exploring the building on your bike which was different. Would love to see another video in this building as your riding progresses.
  21. Couple of rides ago, don't think I will use it in my new vid so thought I would share
  22. I wouldn't focus on how many back hops you can do, as a backhop just becomes a correction hop when you are more comfortable on the backwheel. Instead, I would focus on learning to pedal hop. You can learn this by lifting the front wheel by pedalling instead of rolling back from an endo. Once you can lift your front wheel by pedalling, lock the back brake, then pedal stroke, brake, pedal stroke, brake. Once you can do that you will be able to lift the bike after the pedal stroke to learn pedal hops. Learning this technique will help over moves that require pedal and brake control such as taps, gaps and sidehops.
  23. Make sure that the pads are hitting the rim straight and ensure both pads hit the rim at the same time. You can also use the barrel adjuster on the lever to take up any slack in the cable to improve the lever feel reduce the pull of the lever.
  24. No problem man, it's good to remain fit and agile while gaining muscle mass. I can see the benefits of both weight training and cardio, There is no problem with training at home or using whatever is available to you. You can train with anything! A combination of self bodyweight exercises and freeweight exercises can build a great physique and strong core. My cardio/running when i'm cutting up is a combination of circuit training for conditioning, hill sprints and high intensity interval training. I prefer not to run on machines so I set out 2 cones on a field around 100m apart and then use distance intervals rather than time intervals - this is just down to preference. I don't know much about running or cardio, however I would say that its good to combine different sports such as climbing, swimming, cycling and running to keep it interesting. I'm sure cycling long distances will help as it will slowly burn fat, low intensity will prevent muscle atrophy and you will build up endurance which should help with other cycling disciplines. As I said though I don't know too much about cardio! If you are trying to increase your protein intake but can't buy off the internet and would prefer not to use protein supplements you should try your best to get the right protein intake through your diet. For example, for breakfast you could have 4 scrambled eggs with 3 of the yokes removed, another meal might be a tuna or chicken sandwich with half a cup of cashew or almond nuts, your pre workout meal could be chicken or tuna pasta and then postworkout try to have a another high protein meal. Furthermore you could have cottage cheese before bed to increase your protein intake. I know its difficult but it is achievable - I don't have protein at the minute so I think about each meal to fuel my training! Even if its sausage and beans on toast I know that they are good because they are full of fibre, protein and complex carbs. The only downside is the bean sauce that's tomato based is often high in salt (like really high) and is made up of some sugars. I just drain off half the excess sauce its in 100% agree, these supplements are very useful when used alongside a good diet. Sounds like your a good size there mate.
