Someone Want To Help Two Beginners Out Please?
Simpson replied to Fredm's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Hey guys! I'm Simpson, first of all great posting! Looks like you put a lot of time and effort into it unlike many other people on the forum! I use this website a fair ammount, theres a great community of riders on here and its really good to use, bit of my background, I started off on a BMX at 12, started trials at 14 and have ridden on and off for the last 9 years, here my 2 cents worth, obiously other peoples oppions will differ. If your going out trying to learn "pure" trials, like all the hoppy stuff then a 24" is massivly over rated, I owned this pimp inspired foreplay, owned it for well over a year and loved it, but the problem with it was that it wasn't a "pure" trials bike and it wasn't a BMX. Basically if I wanted to ride "pure" trials then I wanted a trials bike, and if I wanted to do BMX, then I just wanted my BMX! The bike was good for trials and bmx, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't amazing at either. And especially if you just want to learn trials, I think you will progress much more easily on a trials bike but if you want a bike you can do everything on then a 24" its ideal but if you want to learn just trials, then just get a trials bike! (theres been a huge hype on here since the Inspired came out for everybody getting a 24") In my opionion seeing as your both over 6 foot and over 12 stone, then your more suited to a 26" (stock) over a 20" (mod), but its still totally personal preference, I'm in the same sort of weight and height as you but I ride mod, I guess its because I started out on a BMX and stocks just feel way too big for me! I cant stand em! Because I cant throw them about and put them where I want them. Where do you live? If you can, then try to meet some people on here on a ride, just so you can try out there bikes and have a lil play! see what you like, and what you dont! -
" Always look on the bright side of life cos' lifes a load of shit, when you look at it" - Drunk man outside a pub "If someone hits you, then sure you can hit them back, but make sure you only have to hit them once" - my father The bible story about how in hardtimes god will carry you, one set of footprints - blah blah blah if you don't know it its really cheesy and gay but kinda cool story. "Treat people how you want to be treated" - My mother (again and again and again......) lol

Jog on, same can be said about any other profession, or sport. The fact of that matter is+ anyone who has no health problems can be a solider, simples. 1 in a 5 million serious footballers will make a 6 figure wage, and it ruins so many lives. i.e. my mate was in the West Ham academy, got signed for Ipswitch, the training took him out of school, lost him mates, and he didn't make it, hes now playing for some shit team for a token salary and the same can be said about thousands of other people. So if they dedicate their lives to it, and are good enough and lucky enough to make it big then fair play. Don't be sour about it.

f**k that! I stand out in my office I didnt wear a tie, and stuck to pumps =p Although one day I did have to go to this important interveiw, and didnt know i was before I got to work! I was un-shaven for a week, in tatty trainers, some jeans and an inappropriate tee shirt. Moral of the story be prepared to go and meet someone important everyday at work! haha

For adventure island, trackies and a tight vest, with a fag behind your ear, and air max trainers.... Jeans and a smart polo will be fine for something like that, went to a business meeting today in jeans, nike prestos, and a fred perry. lol
-
Exactly... thats all trials is.... Got boring for me.

Zantee's so swag, so so over priced. Bulgaria this year 30p a pint? yea ok - one more then!

I passed with 7 hours worth of professional lessons. Main thing is get out with the girlfriend when ever you can! I was going to my parents to the gardening shop just so i could drive there and back! The 2nd thing is, is to find a good private instructer (not that important but they have to be private so they dont force you to do 35 hours or w.e. like BSM do) blag youv'e had loads of exp, but just not got round to your test, and if your a confident driver you can learn all manouvres in 6 lessons, and then a couple of hours to drive round where your taking your test / mock test routes. Then you need a 2 hour slot for your test, getting there and back and a 45min practical exam. So if you aim for 10 hours its easily possible (I had to do it that was because my parents brought me a block of 10 lessons for my 17th burthday and i couldn't afford to have anymore! haha) but the key is learning to drive with family and friends, and learn to pass your test with an instructer.

All the top riders don't spend hours and hours and hours training to go to a comp and have fun. They do it to go there and win.... Stop trying to make out competitions are light hearted banter and the winner doesn't matter. Because we all know that thats total bullshit

300 if you hit the jackpot

Ben Slinger Danny Butler http://www.trialsdisplay.co.uk/ Ben Savage Sam Oliver You http://www.savageskills.co.uk/ So lets get this right, Ali is an "entertainer" because he does demo events, yet you do..... but your still a "real rider" your deluded. Demo's and events is the only way to get paid to ride without serious sponsorship, which you should know seeing as you do them.... So all the guys in the list above and all the riders who do demos (all world riders included) aren't real riders... because they don't compete when they perform. Your a doosh, so I've never been a trials rider because I didn't have a Mummy or Daddy who brought me mint bikes, and drove me across the UK to competitions, or could pay all my entrance and insurance fees?

Well then from a moral point of veiw, if the guy was nice, the place was clean, he payed full attention, he explained what was happening (which he must have for you to know that it broke off in your tooth) he tryed to get it out (which he did) then no you shouldn't sue from a moral point even if you have grounds to. Were not American and you don't seem to be in any "real" distress. Shit happens live with it, I could have sued the council but chose not to, when in life things go wrong which is someone elses fault, doesn't mean that morally any amount of money is going to help. i.e. I fell of work because my company gave me the wrong ladder! 1) you knew it was the wrong ladder 2) you didnt have to go up it 3) going up it you fell off you jackass, its your fault 4) Oh wait lets sue and get 50 grand which is supoposed to compensate the fact that I cant walk propperly now?!?! If the money was for surgeory to help fix his back then i think he kinda has a case. So basically go back to him and have a conversation about where things went wrong, if it can be removed, how common it is etc.

Don't cry about it. I'm forever leaving my fb logged on when I go out, and chances are when I come back the person who's asked me the question has gone off-line, so I'd just shut down the chat window and totally forget about it, I wouldn't go writing on their wall like "oh my god I'm so so sorry", same goes with texting, if the moment has gone by the time I read it I won't bother replying, for instance if someone asks me to go pub and I don't read it till 11 i wont reply. Generally I go for the whole "same as face to face thing" but if I genuinely don't get the message in time I won't reply. If you wanna speak to me and know I've heard the message then just call me! Don't get grumpy because I may / may not have read the message in time.

Go to a f**king school forum jeez You didnt listen to what anyone said in the algebra topic you made anyway, so whats the f**king point in giving you any advise?
-
Like I said in the survey, pretty light and well padded, someone should make these, apart from the older pred's and adi core boots no one really fills the hole well enough. Most Adidas boots are fine apart from the "light weight" and "carbon sports ones" All puma's are too narrow All Nike's give me horrendous blisters. And pretty much every other company is a joke? /rant

And you decided to take a picture of her rather than destroying her.... thats kinda gay

Yea Dave. You might just wanna go and speak to your teacher, you really don't seem to be understanding the method at all.
