Saying if you crash you'll restrict it again is bollocks, you can't just get up after wiping out and take it home at "restrict" it. The cops will have a look and most probably it will get towed away. A lot of Fiesta's probably get stolen or written off because there is a lot on the road compared to Polo GT's. There's loads of factors. My age for starters. Some people on the Polo forum i'm on get cheaper fully comp. insurance on 1.4's and stuff...

Yeah I agree with the power thing. I wanted something nippy, but not stupid. It's my first car after all, and i'm inexperienced. I looked at 1.8 GTi Golf MK2's, and I just don't need anything that powerful. I want to build up no claims until I can get something nice, like a Celica GT 4 or Skyline.

Yeah I got quotes on loads of 1.4's, all slower, all more on insurance. I think the factors involved are: Engine size (Regardless of whats faster) How many get stolen or crashed (Polo MK3s are rare so less thefts and boy racer deaths / damages) How much the car is worth ( I put £1000 but i'll change it to £550 and see what they quote me now!)

As far as modding goes, these are my plans: BBS 13 or 14's 60 f 40 r Lowering kit Euro style plates Clear front and side indicators And yeah, it's a due a good T-Cut polish and Back To Black bumper clean-up :P I'll post pics once it's all clean and modded :P BTW: Insurance is £859 TPFT

IMO that car was a bargain for £550, and I could have only got a crusty-rusty'n'musty fiesta for that cash otherwise!
