  4. I was on holiday in new york and during one of the evenings saw the advert come on for this insanity work out about 10 times in a hour. It is the first "advert" for fitness that genuinly got me intruiged as to whether it would work or not. I have been going to the gym for around 5 years now just to keep myself healthy. I lift weights and rarely do any form of cardio but I manage to keep the gut off by eating very clean compared to your average day to day male. Its good to see someone who has tried the insanity workout I am once again now very tempted to give it a go. I think when I last considered the over cheesy adverts put me off but you really can not argue with the results that people were getting. It definitely looks great for conditioning and I expect when its coming up to summer I will give this a blast for 4 weeks and see where I get. How much did you pay for the lot? No doubt I will feel guilty for not lifting heavy stuff but I like to break away from the gym for a couple of weeks between programs so this might be ideal.
  5. phone water board to come and check pressures etc they will tell you if there is a leak.
  6. I think this is why we end up with inbreds It also has its perks.. believe or not ...f**king not so often is good because you can "talk" a lot about what your going to do when you see eachother and in turn you make them f**king filth. My now fiance is pure filth its awesome I had plenty of time to mould her in to what i wanted with a bit of distance involved. p.s. if she is reading this love you as you are! (now)
  7. did it for 2 years isle of wight to newcastle upon tyne approx 380 miles now engaged and living together(ish) 3 years on not to say we didnt have some rough patches.. but it can always work out if you want it tp
  8. She probably genuinely made a mistake and was supposed to be sending it to the new black dude she is seeing with the 12" sausage that porks her once a fortnight because her small frame couldn't handle it any more frequent. Knowing she could possibly crush you again she had to make up some lame excuse about it being an accident just to give you a bit of a pick me up.
  9. Seriously?! I rode with Andy a couple of years whilst we were at the same uni.. great guy and even cooked me a nice meal one night when I had nothing left to eat in halls. Really sad to see this RIP
  10. BurlyBox that is a united nations movement. We would be involved in that to some extent regardless and it is in our own interests to be involved as you never know when we may need the UN for our own country in the near future. I don't condone libya involvement at all I think it seems a bit strange how our involvement has changed over the weeks to technically just funding a rebel army to overthrow a dictator who has over 3/4 of a populations support..but that is for another topic =p
  11. Privatisation is something that will end up spreading in to most areas. The public sector isn't driven to make money like the private sector is. It may claim it is driven to "save" money and offer a "good" and "quality" service for everyone but realistically when you are paying the equivalent of a monthly/yearly subscription that everyone has access to, the level of all of the aforementioned things various incredibly. In the private world people with money tend to lean to buying the more expensive things. With expense we often see an increase in quality and a reduction in time to get a service. As I said the public sector does not have this driver so everyone is stuck in the same boat and what do we get? Long waiting times, very erratic and varied quality of service all for the same expense? Well.. no because those with more money end up paying more for the services via tax which to them is an even shitter deal. Whilst on the other hand those who are taxed less may look at the service and say "yea actually that is pretty decent". Those with lower incomes see the public sector as value for money. Those with the money tend not to. I for one have rarely ever used the NHS but the times I have the service has been terrible. My dad now suffers from cancer and I have to say his treatment so far has been shockingly varied between different hospitals, doctors, nurses etc. As I stated before without the push and drive for making money none of these areas will want to truly standardise and give a quality of service that can be expected to be the same no matter where you go. Making money or atleast finding an equal driver will lead to this standardisation and a baseline of healthcare that no matter who you are you can walk in to a hospital anywhere in the country pay your money and get the same service. Take a look at the likes of mcdonalds, wallmart, subway, nissan, honda etc etc.. private companies even when franchised can work well. I am open minded to the change because as much as we all love getting something for "free" we really aren't always getting a service we would desire. I expect we have all said it at some point "dont complain about blah blah its a free service what do you expect".. but this isnt facebook/msn/hotmail.. its healthcare and peoples lives that are potentially being messed around with.
  12. I graduated in 2008 with a masters in civil engineering.. not used it since. Spent nearly a year looking but ofcourse it was just as the recession hit and everyone was sacking people. Now work doing performance management/business analysis etc. Love it and glad I didnt end up in engineering. My mate got a BEng and got a job luckily just before recession hit in 2007. He now runs a team at some civil engineering place and is earning about 28k. He's been doing it now for over 3 years...

  14. Very confusing but OK! hope you like the windows 7ness
  15. Its been way too long since my departure from the trials world and I have the itch again to be riding a bike. I've decided to get back in to cross country / general riding around fast and enjoying life. So I figure a hardtail will fit the bill nicely. Sadly I have no clue where to start with this plus, every bike I see looks completely queer compared to a trials bike (seat tubes? huge chain slack .. ..seat?!!!!! WTF). Anyway I need some suggestions put forward.. looking to spend anywhere from 500-800 on this one would prefer some decent stopping power and some none queer drivetrain would be lovely. edit: balls didnt realise we had a non trials chat related area.. this can be moved
  16. What swayed away from android?
  17. Not too sure how using a wooden bike rack makes you more greener or environmentally friendly than a metal one. Tree huggers would be up in arms
  18. If you google the "samsung galaxy mini" that is the newer version of the galaxy s that is coming out. Slightly smaller and 100% rip off looks for the iphone 4. The actual "upgrade" to the galaxy s is the nexus s. However bar a flash on the camera and a led light for notifications there is 0 difference. You can port all of the updates for the nexus s over to the galaxy s. I wouldnt bother getting it over the galaxy at present. There is a good development following for the galaxy s at the moment fixing and improving and it is definitely a phone you wont want to be upgrading any time soon.
  19. samsung galaxy s without a doubt pwns at the minute. 4 of my mates have iphones and are all switching to android os + samsung... its the future! you've seen it said right here!
  20. Ben I have to say I relate to most of this but I would never put it under a name as Buddhism etc. I rarely get attached to anything, bar family and my gf. Everything else is just a material that is used to get on with my life. I guess what I am saying is I expect a lot of people out there can relate to a lot of the views of Buddhism and other religious streams but don't actually care or wish to know what this is. I would call myself a realist. I take everything with a bucket of salt and I know within my life what matters to keep me happy and that truly is only the two things I stated in my first sentence. Money, motivation etc etc is all a "nice to have" or "wish to have" but f**k it.. If I had neither I'm still breathing and I still have what I hold closest.
  21. Ben I believe you think too indepth about things. There is always a need to do this in a discussion which is fine but I think getting worked up on the way some people tick compared to yourself would send you insane.

    Android Apps

I recommend anyone with a galaxy s to visit the xda developers site. Basically 3million members hacking and creating phone apps/firmware/roms/kernels/themes/apps etc. The beauty of android is that it is open source so anyone can create and develop. http://forum.xda-dev...splay.php?f=656 Also you might want to take a look at the followings apps: LauncherPro - Changes the built in galaxy s launcher so you can get a 3d app draw and custom icons for your task bar etc etc BeautifulWidgets (best weather app ever) - displays weather + some other widgets but really well JeFit - best gym/workout app out there imo Instant Heart Rate - measures your pulse using the camera (has been scary accurate for me) Kies Air - Allows you to use kies over wireless instead of using usb cable Live Holdem Pro - poker.. really well done My Days (for tracking your gf's period.. very handy! ) Sky News - obvious Also there is 100% no need to install shit like Advanced Task Killer and all these other task killing apps. Androids handles this itself built in.. it makes 0 difference other than draining your batter to have these apps installed. If you want more agressive app killing (which isnt really even recommended) some of the custom roms allow you to change this setting. Edit: Forgot to say make sure you use SWYPE! its the best way ever to type on a touchscreen phone and its always fun to watch how shit it must be to type on an iphone in comparison
  24. trials forum mobile doesnt show up pictures either in my experience
