  1. One USB port can only do one powered thing in an ideal world. So you can't for example read a USB drive and charge your phone. Not even sure a powered one would help to be honest, we tried it at work and it still wouldn't charge through a powered one for some reason.
  2. Some of you people need to wake up and smell the cheese. Sometimes you have to live entirely out of your comfort zone and just say yes to shit that may end in death, but may also end in changing your life for the better. Take a little risk to enhance your life, the worst that can happen is you'll have a new challenge to overcome. When i got asked if i wanted to move to Perth when i was 25, i sure as hell didn't take long deciding. Yes, i left a SHIT load behind, but i'm not looking back. Best decision i've ever done, both personally and professionally. I arrived with just a 29kg case to my name and 1 or 2 contacts. I've met so many people and enjoyed almost every day. Dreams don't just rock up on your doorstep and you shake their hand and you living the dream. You have to work for them, i was at my company for 5 and a half years when they asked me. Some would argue that i should of left ages ago had i genuinely wanted to persue a better life, as staying at the same company never really pays off, except this time it did. Loved the company and the enviroment, now i love the company live in Perth. Just try it, someone comes up to you with a stupid idea, going somewhere stupid or doing something entirely out of your comfort zone (rocking up at a house party when you only know 1 person in the country is certainly a fresh experience) and see what happens. Regret what you did, not what you didn't.
  3. Wasn't it only 200k? Stop caring about so much and maybe you'll enjoy your own life that little bit more. I spent my new years there. No TV, just friends, drink and radio with good music. We counted down, went nuts, did stupid shit in pool and had a blast. None of us cared how much or how little was being spent on what, we just got on with our evening and celebrations. Try it sometime, you may surprise yourself.
  4. The only way to describe insurance is random, and bullshit. Best example i've had so far. My friend had a 200sx. Modified, modifications declared, running 250 odd bhp. Bought a shit Civic for 500 quid, insurers refused to insure to him. It's obvious that insurance is bull shit, as soon as you start moaning they'll slash 300-400 off the quote. Renewals are the best. They'll increase it, you'll ring up, get it for the same price or slightly less, makes it feel like you've actually gained something, when really, they've given you the price of a bottle of wine off. Not dealt with Australian insurance so far, hoping it's better ha.
  5. Same, i had NRG Quick release in my last two Civic's, it's awesome and zero play. Put it through some shit too, never felt concerned about it. My mate however has the cheap ones of ebay. So much play, doesn't feel safe at all.
  6. You literally have no idea. Check where i live again. http://www.transport...nsing/20500.asp Read the 'Modifications that don't need approval' bit. ANYTHING beyond that you should, in theory, ask permission to do. You also have no idea how hard it is to get anything licensed here. Nine times out of 10 they'll just refuse it for a road going car and you look like a Hoon, which because of the laws which actually punish you more for having an empty washer bottle then drink driving, 99% of people think you are. Not to mention how expensive it is to get that inspection. I never said i wanted more then 10.5, and when have i ever said pointless or dangerous? You realise that you and Prawns car would be illegal here right, and there would be NO chance of Prawns EVER being road worthy because of his interior, unless you really wanted to spend that much effort to put it back to OEM. So does that make your modifications pointless and dangerous? You don't always have to be a fanny to get your opinion across.
  7. f**king mental. Basically, you can't really do anything. Cage is illegal, bucket seat is illegal, neons are LEGAL, carbon bonnet is illegal, rose joint suspension are illegal, brake modifications are illegal beyond changing disc and pads (this includes hydro for drifts), even an intake filter is illegal, there is restraints on wheel width and tyre sizes depending on factory options, so you can't have more then a certain amount wider then factory, so for example, because the Silvia came with an OEM 7j wheel i think, the widest i can go is 10.5j or something. Any kind of braided line is illegal and EVERY car HAS to have an immobiliser by law. yada yada yada. You can make modifications legal, but you need an engineer to check it over. Cage can only be half cage, if you have a full cage you can't have door bars so services can get in, in case of accident, flat out not allowed harnesses, you can get a cert for a bucket seat, but again it's effort. There is some more stupid which i've forgotten too. Like, stuff that at the end of the day really has no basis in law as there is actually any proof or substance behind the law except to be annoying to young people and cars. You can even get a yellow sticker for not having washer fluid - yellow sticker is a defect notice where they basically go over the car with a fine tooth comb and check everything is by law, basically, you have to put your car back to standard or it wont pass. Basically, you have to mod's that aren't so obvious and try to get away with it, and if you do get a yellow, hope they don't notice some of the un-obvious and annoying stuff to change. Like, in theory, you can't do a 4-5 stud conversion as you fiddling with the brakes, but they usually don't notice if you stick with same model - ie, sticking Skyline/S14 brakes on my S13 will go un-noticed as they all Nissan branded etc. So yeah, me sticking 18x10 et18 on the rear probably isn't the best idea i've ever had, but f**k it.
  8. Only an NA Auto SR, but that will change.
  9. It's not quite that easy to get a 1 year working VISA here, but it's certainly a lot easier then Canada. The main difference, is the easier VISA for 1 year won't allow you to stay without lot's of money, a work sponsorship or a relative living here. I've been in Australia for 3 months now after my work sent me over. On a 457 VISA now which runs out November 2014, was easy to get as work sponsored me. Australia is vastly different to the UK. if you are into cars, you will find it hard, if you like beer, you will be skint, if you can any kind of job to do with mines and want to do FIFO for a few months, then expect to earn 100k+ and only need to spend 1 week at home out of 4, so your whole months wages need only last 1 week. Leaving the UK makes you appreciate just how f**ked the UK is. Only thing i miss from the UK is my friends, family, the NHS and the stupidly relaxed car laws compared to here. If you do try Australia, few heads up. There is a SHIT load of travellers and migrants here, so finding a place to live is hard. 20% year on year migrants, and ony %2 year on year housing increase. If you come to WA (Perth), everything is expensive. Only thing cheaper is public transport and some groceries. Lifestyle is excellent, people are mostly excellent and the place is awesome. Just be prepared to live outside your comfort zone to make new friends and connections. Can't recommend it enough, best thing i've ever done.
  10. Wahey, a subject i can comment on. "stance" has been dividing opinion for a long time, it's nothing new, and will never fade out. Let's just get that out there. The ONLY reason it's come into the lime light is because of people making money of it and seeing a market for products related to it. For example, i've had lowered cars pretty much all my life. Can tell you know, i enjoyed that car. Corners, speeding, the whole lot. Once you lower a car to the point that you smash 2 gearboxes from hitting the floor, you realise that you are genuinely low, and i for one didn't worry about any roads. Country roads with weekend bags for staying at my dads house, dragging my chassis rails along the lane for 10 miles, just suck it up. If you do it properly and actually enjoy it, you don't care where you can, or can't go. That's me on the way to a car meet 2 hours away. This is static, so that wheel really is that close to the arch. Yeah it did a little damage to the wheel paint, but what stone chip, sea air or car park ding doesn't. Honestly, i could talk about this for hours, but my point is, the cars are not un-drivable if you man enough, and we aren't some alien group of people, if you into "stance" then i can 100% guarantee we are also into pretty much everything else car related.
  11. Thankfully if i ever return to the UK, my speeding conviction will be gone and i won't be charged double what i should be. Point's mean shit, convictions are the worst, and they last longer on license then normal points.

Same! I loved my old Nexus S, so sad the power button failed. Might get it repaired, phones are getting so damn big and i hate it, even the Nexus 4 i think might be too wide for my liking, not to mention the reportedly awful battery life. Same, going to buy one regardless, and if it does end up being too wide, sell it on. If i like it, sell the S3 for 320$ to Mazuma and have a 16gb nexus 4 for 80$
  13. That's pretty damn epic to be fair.
  14. Holy shit this brings back memories. Remember when these was released and thinking, what the f**k. Otherside and Toxicity were amazing. What ever happened to the Danny and Adam duo? Just watched Otherside - it pretty much tought me how to most of the stuff i learnt back then by hitting repeat constantly ha. Hell, some of the lines in both the videos even by todays standards are pretty damn awesome! Now everyone cares about is how light you can get the bike and how many competitions you can enter.
  15. This was more fun when Jardo wasn't here.

I think the retina goes beyond pure PPI, i think? Something about the combination of glass and the way it delivers them?

Holy crap, the Nexus 10 look's amazing. Not seen the spec until then. Not retina, but holy shit who cares with that resolution.

Comparing a 400 pound iPad to a 150/200 pound Nexus? Of course the iPad will win. iPad mini however, non-retina display - which defunct that 'pixel' comment, as the quality will be visibly different when watching movies and reading, not to mention the other things i mentioned. If you can afford an iPad, then go for it, if you can only afford an iPad Mini, get a Nexus or equivalent instead, that's my advice.

You get just as many tablet applications on Nexus 7 as you do up-scaled phone applications. The idea isn't to see more, but to be able to comfortably hold the tablet in one hand, the whole point of the 7" tablets, and even on smaller screen be able to see what you are doing, which is where the much better resolution on the Nexus 7 comes into it's own. Not to mention the processor is insanely powerful and so is the graphics. I also think the 16gb release is missing a trick. The Nexus 7 get's a 32gb option next week, and i can quite often fill up the 16gb when i put TV show's and films on there, which will be even quicker when you use the apple store to download high resolution films and tv shows when i pick smaller shows to fit more on. Unless your life is in apple products, there really is no logical reason to get an iPad mini over a Nexus 7 or equivalent, the iPad mini brings absolutely nothing new to the table, and it's more expensive.
  21. Haha, no. I ran 165/50/15 on a 8.25j and didn't exactly drive it softly. Keep PSI in there and it will be fine. Only time i've ever heard of blowouts, is through excessive wear 'caused by bad alignment and not enough air in tyre allowing sidewall to flex enough to let air out. People drift 100mph corners with stretch, it's fine.

Nexus 7 over everything. Although wait a few weeks, the 32gb will be announced next week. Had mine since a few days after launch and it's been amazing. Not had a need for a laptop at home since having it to be honest. Only annoying things so far, is some websites aren't ready for touch screen, especially ones with google maps on. And it has no video out, which is a bit of a shame, but for a 200 quid tablet, it punches way above it's weight.
  23. You know Pas too? Shit, small world haha! He's got like 5 of them now or something? 2 or 3 GT's and some other less spec's, bloody nut case ha.
  24. Anyone watching Last Resort or Revolution? Revolution showed great promise, the story line is an awesome one, but it's kind of flat, and acting is noticeably bad? Last Resort though, wow! What an awesome show so far, looking forward to seeing how things pan out and how the crew take to taking sides.
