  1. Agreed, sort your spelling out its awful in every post ive read made by you.
  2. Take it from me dont bother! The rb lever body leaks and the blade bodged into a magura body just feels shit. Its too long so your brake feels mushy, plus the tpa always unwinds it's self you you have to keep doing it up after every pull of the lever. I cant tell the difference in feel to a 04 lever blade so just stick with your magura one mateys!
  3. Ill ask harpenden and luton massive if there up for it...
  4. Come out the train station turn right keep going up till you get a roundabout turn left then take a right at the next roundabout, go over the bridge and its on your left.
  5. Ive got the spec 2 t-rex ive modded it up now so its got different parts but the frame is great. a long wheelbase but still manageble i can still do some spins and streety stuff. It just loves the back wheel so much feels so nice easy to controll. It takes a hell of a beating too ive put 1 dent in mine and that was from landing full pelt onto a metal bench. I used to have the new saracen m.a.d which was also a quality bit of kit, altho the parts from the t-rex build are far better. I say get the t-rex.
  6. Sounds like a good set up. For somone who hasnt ridden in years you sure are taking advantage of all the newer parts not going for a old school set up. The only thing i would change is the mech i would go for a Shimano sora rear mech instead, or if you plan on locking it get the dmr tension seeker and run it single speed.
  7. Liteguys have 4 bolt mounts. there very light mine are ace!
  8. We had 4 piranas(sp?) 1 big one and 3 small ones, im about 3 months we only had 1 big one the greedy f**ker ate the others!
  9. I had to sand about 3mm from each. Dont get a hog mate there not half as good as ronnies! Plus the new silver one PIMP PIMP PIMP!
  10. I can get about 8 riders to go on sunday.
  11. My t-rex came with a hog rim on the rear it was ok with the kool stop pads but when i changed to Zoo! pads i had to sand them down Also like you said you dont have much room to buckle your rim. You should have been validated by now!
  12. Strongly recommed a grind, you dont have to go nuts just a nice light grind will improve your brake so much you wont ever look at tar again(infact you will probaly throw it away)
  13. Give it a go then its piss easy. Your question about the grinds... You put the rim on the floor making it flat right, then take your angle grinder and hold it upright(90 deg) then tilt it to 45 deg, your cut into the rim at 45 deg but the marks are in line with the spokes. You dont realy cut into the rim you just drag the cutting disk over it to rough it up hence the unlikleyness of you going though a rim, All the light and harsh stuff is just how hard you press on the grinder. Give the pads a try without a grind perhaps try some tar, but if i were you i would deffinatly be grinding that rim.
  14. Mate i was exactly the same as you when it came to grinding. There is nothing to it at all, theres no way you can grind though your rim, theres no kick back from the grinder, its so simple. 1. take your wheel out 2. Remove your tyre and tube 3. place it on the floor 4. put one foot on it to keep it steady 5. turn on your angle grinder 6. keep the grinder at a 45 degree angle and touch the rim surface then drag it back towards you about 8" 7. if you missed any spots go over them 8. turn the wheel and do the next 8" 9. take a bit of rag and rub the rim surface to remove any burrs 10. go ride!
  15. Well they wont work to there full ability without a grind. I sujest you give you rim a light grind you wont regret it.
  16. Yeah might take you up on that matey ill email you if i want some. £12 seems a bargain i was going to buy cousts but there expensive. My zoo! pads still have a few mm on them so we will see how it pans out.
  17. Its cool no one noticed. You can basicaly use anything in maguras for a sort time. a mate of mine used milk shake just to prove this! Pete how those homemade pads coming along? how much for a set? what they like on a light grind?
  18. Basicaly the following factors will affect your braking... 1. Your set up 2. Your pads 3. Rim treatment IE: grind, tar, hair spray ect 4. Frame flex 5. Your bleed 6. Rim condition 1. Your rim set up You need to set your brake up well to get a good brake(duh) This means you need to set your pads so they hit square to the rim, They both hit the rim at the same time, Have the pads between 2-3mm away from the rim... the best way to do this is to this is to put somthing inbetween the rim and the pad when your setting up. Try and get these points perfect, dont use the tpa for setting up! and dont do the bolts up too tight! 2. Your pads Your pads play a major part in your brakes performance. Your rims treatment will determine what pads you need... If your running a smooth rim(perhaps tar) you will need a soft pad. So far Zoo! pads are the fav. If your running a grind your going to need a slightly harder pad, fav's at the moment are plaz crm's, koxx bloxx browns, Coust pads, but theres loads more to choose from. 3. Rim treatment If your slipping or not getting the braking power you need try some of the following. Grinding- A great way to get your brakes working, its widely used(for a reason) i cant fault it. Tar- Does the job but dont put too much on or else your pads will stick to your rim, When the rain comes your brakes will not work at all so only for your dry weather riders. Hair spray/monty bike spray- Same sort of result as tar, personaly i think tar is better. 4. Frame flex Its important you have a good booster to combat frame flex. If you pull your lever and it feels spongey theres a chance your frame is flexing, Any good booster will fix this, they all do a good job so find one that fits your bike and one you like. 5. Your bleed If your lever can be pulled and your pads are not moving then you have air in your system you require a rebleed. What you bleed the brakes with has a affect aswell. People sware by water saying it gives a snappyer feeling, but personaly i dont rate it due to it freezing and needing bleeding a lot. magura blood and similar mineral oils are the best choice i think as they lube up the system at the same time as feeling good. Remember NEVER use Dot brake fluids in yuor brake it will wreck the seals. 6. Your rim condition Try cleaning your rim every week end or after a long ride with meths or brake cleaner you will be surprised at the shite that will come off. This is a must if your brake is poor. Dont forget to clean the pads aswell.
  19. Personaly i use milehams clutch mineral oil. good stuff
  20. Have you lubed it all up? Grease the lot mate.
  21. Silver 2004 front and rear magura's they seem to be brand new only £70
  22. Its realy not that great. If you read into it you will find that practicaly everyone on this forum is making theirs void by either using water instead of oil or using aftermarket pads.
