  1. The Classic mini. May well give some reasoning to that too tomorrow when im less tired and quite possibly have nothing better to do.
  2. Any one want a set of teledials, 15x6, good nick, no curbing, (one has scratching, could easily be fixed), tyres with 5mm left on them? I am in need of some banded 14" steelies, or at least some G60 steelies, banded or not. Some awsome ones on E38 atm, but a bit too wide at 9.5", and a tad expensive too at £500. Since f22-kgu is about to be dropped on some 80mm springs, put back to small bumpers, im looking for wheels more in keeping with the 80's look of small bumpers (porsche cookie cutters) or some nice steelies, to add to the slightly rat look the car will be getting compared to what it is now.
  3. Have to say, i was cringing everytime clarkson (or other) were crashing into things aorund the BBC offices. That paint looked imculate, and i knew there werent many of them around! Bet the owner was a bit pissed off.
  4. If your worried about your teeth, surely a gumguard would be the way to go?
  5. I can 5 star every song on guitar hero 2 on medium!!! does that count?
  6. Attention: Stance Immanent! just waiting for a reply to an offer on some wheels, should get them. 16x8, final offset after adaptors et-5 !!!! 80mm drop springs also on the cards, along with my 90 spec arch kit. maybe a GTi rear beam and a set of eibach antiroll bars for good measure
  7. Woo! just got back from a houseparty, and picked up BOGOF pizza on the way home, win win situation! good night, hopefully il feel ok in the morning and be good for a ride! Shame i didnt get any action though, talked to a few girls, but as normal, they didnt seem all that keen on me. meh, life goes on.
  8. not unless you buy a very expensive digidash. since my mini is classic styled, im sticking to old skool gauges. I will be building the bike computer into a 52mm smiths houseing.
  9. It wont be the only speedo! I just want something that i cap look at after raggind down a road/lap of a track to see average and max speed. plus it will be cool to have. its been done before.
  10. Right, I need a good cycle computer, but its not going on a bike. Required functions: WIRED, MUST NOT BE WIRELESS Max speed Current speed Average speed Must go down to an 18" wheel/ circumference of 1450mm Must be able to read/display speeds over 100mph Anoyingly, a lot of the good manufacturers seem to have either, lack of wired computers, error display over 99mph, or don't do wheel sizes small enough. I have a cheapy £5 to experiment with, which can do over 100mph and correct size wheel, although doesnt have a max speed function, and at £5, i am unsure of accuracy.
  11. anodising is a process which makes the natural oxide layer on the aluminium thicker. as has been pointed out, this is metal + oxygen to produce an oxide, therefore it is heavier. Also the oxide layer is then dyed to give the desired colour, the dye is also adding weight. Its worth it for the small increase however, as the incresed oxide layer protects the aluminium (unlike iron oxide, which spreads).
  12. Very sad loss to motorsport, one of the best drivers ever. Absolute legend.
  13. Do it biggy! you know you want to!
  14. I have to say, i LOVE my ceramic!!! Yes, i still run a 521! i'm old skool me! gives me trouble free braking, but isn't brilliant in the wet, although i think thats down to the pads. might have to find some browns and see if prawny is telling the truth! I'm running std plax pads (crm's i think) and they havent worn AT ALL!!! prawn can veryify this, when we rebuilt my bike onto my leeson frame, we measured the pads and they were dead on 6mm. that was after a year or use!
  15. ah, ok, bad pics with reflections don't help. i still think your ogign to have problems eventually, as the pads on a c2 are so much taller than the disk face!
  16. surely you still have that problem, because i mentioned previously the disk surface if too thin for the caliper anyway? Even the pictures show it to be rubbing an excessive length of the 'spokes'.
  17. That doesnt actually add up! shaving the mount means your caliper is closer to the hub than previously, meaning you need to shave more off the disc. also, 0.2mm off the disk is a total 0.4mm in diameter. Im confused by what you have done, and why you didnt get a rotor with a wider pad contact patch. the c2's are designed to run on a 20mm wide rotor surface, that looks like a mono4 rotor which has a much thinner surface, so some of your pad is going to be hanging off the edges- this can casue a problem once they start to wear down a bit.
  18. if you travel aroudn the world you will not end up upside down relative to the gorund no, you will end up upside down relative to your starting point half way round however.
  19. you muppet! have you never looked at the horizon! the fact there is one is proof, plus its curved! look at the horizon on a boat, and you will see the slight curve.
  20. Im so tiklish that i can actually tickle myself, apprently thats meant to be impossible. Im also epileptic, which is anoying.
  21. pods will give you much much better sound. if you still want to do 8.5cm, iv got a set of jbl's i could sell you.
  22. i don't think tic is very clarksonish though, even if that pic shows a resemblance. It was decided over the weekend that Prawn should take over from clarkson when he steps down from being what he is. Ive been likened to James May, but i dunno who could be hampster in a TF top gear.
