  1. If only two or even three broke that is still an excellent record. If the frames that cracked were only the defective ones and if not many defective ones were produced then I don't think anyone could hold anything against Zoo bikes. I think I am just being paranoid about the strength of both the BT and Zoo frames. Crazy Gap girl, You said you heard that two 05 Pitbulls and one Python cracked at the brake mounts. Can you confirm that this is true or is this just hear say? And what about the 06 models? Ride on, Deadly Venom
  2. "Built like a brick shit house", Thats quite a testament. I have read trials riders posts saying that the Pitbull is a bit heavy. At 4.4 pounds I can't see calling the Pitbull heavy. I would like my flatland bike to be that light. It is very difficult to choose a frame. In BMX a great deal of the frames are pretty much the same. Sometimes the only difference is the color or quality. A good example would be the Proper dolomite and the Fly simple. Both of these frames are basically the same.
  3. Hobnobs, Thank you for the reply. At first I was apprehensive about buying a trials bike because they were made of aluminium. But If the Pitbull and the BT Raven can take that much abuse I don't think I have anything to worry about. Partz, The Python is the 20 inch mod version of the Pitbull. It appears to have the same basic design as the pitbull, just smaller. I hope this helps. Keep rolling, Deadly venom
  4. Bigman, Excellent video! That looks like a great place to ride. Do you live near that area or do you have to travel to get there? It must nice to ride on a beautiful shore line like that. Let me ask you about your Raven. I am a new rider and I am interested in getting a BT Raven 6.0. What are your impressions of the Raven? Is it a sturdy frame? Do you find that it performs well in all various maneuvers? I would like to here your opinion on the bike. ride on, Deadly Venom
  5. I just watched one of the older Zoo videos featuring Neil Tunnecliffe for the first time and I was blown away!! Talk about a hard rider. I was shocked that the bike he was riding held up after that much abuse!! In a previous thread I posted I questioned others about the strength of the Pitbull. Well I am asking again, can the Zoo Pitbull frame take that much abuse on a regular basis? I have seen steel BMX frames break under less stress. Can the BT Ravens take that much abuse to? Keep riding, Deadly Venom
  6. Urpedigreechumdog, mathuds0, I really don't won't a street frame. I don't plan to ride street anyway. I wanted to get into natural trials because of the variety of things to ride on. As much as I like flatland, want to get into trials to break up the monotony. I do not want to go back to street. I 've had enough street riding, that's why I switched to mostly flatland in the first place. I have looked into a complete bike. The Zoo Pitbull is looking nice. The price is around $1350 American. I have just been so use to building up my own bike I just naturally looked at a frame first. I don't know if the Onza, Curtis, Pashleys and Revells frames are widely available in the United States or not. Frame/bikes such as Echo, Zoo, Koxx and BT are easier to get a hold of. Rock on, Deadly Venom
  7. Dave85, Urpedigreechumdog, It is difficult to tell what frames are for street and what frames are for competition. For example, I read that the Koxx XTP is a competition frame but yet I have seen video footage of people riding the XTP on the street. LIke I said, it's hard to tell. Keep riding, Deadly venom
  8. Poopipe, Urpedigreechumdog, janson Would the Raven 6.0 1100 and the Pitbull 1080 be considered Competition only frames? I will get the Koxx bloxx or Plazmatic pads as they are highly recommended. The Avid Mechanical disk brake, the Magura louise or maybe the Avid juicy 5 will be my choice for front brake. The Hope disk is really expensive. As for tires, it is obvious that the Maxxis is the tire of choice. So I will get those. Thick tubes is really the way to go anyway. I do mostly flatland at this point and I run heavy duty tubes in my tires. Ride on, Deadly Venom
  9. Urpedigreechumdog, That really clears things up about the hub. The setup you recommending, it is for natural, urban or both? The reason why I am asking is because I am going to do natural trials only. Ride on, Deadly Venom
  10. When I read the information on the Hope XC hub it said, "Hope XC disk hub." I thought it was designed specifically for Cross country riders who are using disk brakes in the rear. I have no prior experience with mountain bike equipment. As I am coming from BMX a lot of the equipment is new to me. Keep riding, deadly venom
  11. Dave, Alright, now that's what I call info!!!! I thought ENO freewheels were good freewheels. The price of the Chris King hubs is what made me search for an alternative. I thought the hope hub was a disk only hub, but I guess not. I will have to keep all three hubs in mind when I go to buy the hubs. I was hoping to get away with not grinding the rims but it looks like I have to. I plan to do natural trials only. There are some great places to ride around here and there is water some were in every riding spot. I have noticed that the most used tire is the Maxxis High roller tire. However, I have discovered over the years that it is best find out if there are other choices. I had to ask about the forks. I am coming from BMX and I am not use to aluminium forks. I keep thinking they will break the first day out. :) I still don't know which stem to get. I have been looking at the BT Raven 6.0 1100 or the new Zoo Pitbull 1080. I will probably go with the Raven 6.0. It just looks so attractive. Roll on, Deadly Venom
  12. TomN, I appreciate the info. I it is sometimes hard to find trials information in the U.S. Ride that bike, Deadly Venom
  13. TomN, I have read that White Industries ENO freewheel was very good. If I go with a front freewheel(which I probably will) I will go with the ENO. On the subject of cranks. You mentioned the Middleburn and Tensile cranks. What about the Echo, BT, Zoo and Try All cranks? Are these quality cranks? By the way, to make things clearer I am researching parts for a 26'' bike. Ride on, Deadly Venom
  14. I didn't know that there was a 20" inch version of the Czar Ivan. Where can I see pictures of this bike? Don't stop riding, Deadly Venom
  15. Thanks for the info! On the subject of hubs, what about the Try-all fixed hub and the Echo fixed hub? Are these quality hubs as well? Stay on to wheels, Deadly venom
  16. I have read favorable comments about the hope mono-trial but it is a bit expensive. I am willing to spend but I have to keep the price down in some places. The lower cost of the juicy 5 is what attracted me. I have never used a hydraulic disk brake before. Which means I am unaware of the quality and performance of each brake system. Since this will be my first trials bike should I go with an HS 33's on the front and rear? Or should I just go ahead and put a disk up front and a HS 33 on the rear? Ride that bike, Deadly Venom
  17. Could someone give me some information on the Avid juicy 5? Is this one of the better hydraulic disk brakes on the market? How is it's performance when compared to other hydraulic disk brakes such as the ones from Magura? Would the Avid mechanical disk brake be a good brake for trials? Any information is welcome. Stay on, deadly venom
  18. In a previous thread I posted, someone mentioned that there had been research to see if flat style bulge bars produced ill effects on the hands and wrists. Did anything come of those experiments? I am looking into this type of bar or the Try All riser bar. If I go with the Flat bulge bar I don't want to end up with some kind of wrist damage. How strong are aluminium forks such as Echo, Zoo or BT? Do these types of forks have a decent life span? I am compiling a list of parts for my first trials bike. I am doing as much research as possible so I don't make the mistake of buying the wrong equipment. If any of you can give some suggestions on parts such as wheels, tires, hubs, brake pads and anything else I will appreciate it. Keep her steady, Deadly venom
  19. Folks, I have just emailed onzaboymark the photos. They are similar to the one siders77 posted but they larger and better quality. I hope onza can post them. Keep rolling, deadly venom
  20. Fellows, I have tried to post pictures but this forum won't let me. It says that the pics I am trying to posting is not a valid image. I do not know why it saying this but it is preventing me from posting the photos. I will email one of the moderators, maybe they can help. Sorry. Stay on two wheels, deadly venom
  21. How do I post pictures on this site? Rock on, Deadly venom
  22. Mooresy, I have some pictures of a fully built Pitbull but I don't know if I should post them. I do not know who the bike belongs to. If you really want to see them I will post them with a disclaimer Keep riding, deadly venom
  23. Joe Maher, Sorry about that. I forgot for the moment that the majority of the members here are British. The new Pitbull as Urpedigreechumdog and wally so graciously pointed out is available in the U.K. I have to say, I have seen the new frame before about a month and a half ago. It seems a bit odd to me that Zoo would be coming out with the new frame this early.
  24. Endofreak, Thanks for the info. All this time I thought that the website was down. Unfortunately they do not have the specifications on the new 2006 PitBull. Ride that bike, Deadly venom
  25. Joe Maher, The 2006 PitBulls are available. I have seen them advertised on the online store Webcyclery(nice store). I just have not heard anything about the frames yet. Roll on, deadly venom
