  1. Through my research of frames I am starting to lean heavily towards the BT Raven 6.0. However, I have just seen Photos of a complete 2006 Zoo Pitbull. The design of the frame looks quite nice. It is very compact in hight and is sleek in appearance. Has anyone had a ride or owns a 2006 Zoo Pitbull? If so, how is it's performance? Tell me about it. On another note. What is going on with the Zoo bikes website? It has been down for quite some time. Keep rollin, deadly venom
  2. The low price is what attracted me to the frame. But if it is going to break in 9 months or less then I will avoid it. It is just not worth it to knowingly pay for something that is not sturdy. Ride on, deadly venom
  3. Does anyone know if the Planet X Alibongo will flex with a rider that weighs 195 pounds or more? The Planet X Alibongo was going to be my first choice but I read that Alibongo will flex with a rider over 185 pounds. If anyone can give me any information on this I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Deadly venom
  4. Raub, yes, I am doing research for my first trials bike. There isn't a trials scene were I live, so I have to do as much research as possible. I am originally a Flatland rider. I have been looking into getting a trials bike for quite some time. The only thing that kept me from getting one was a lack of information on them. I wish I could try out someones bike but as I said there is no trials scene here. I see that the Maxxis highroller is one of the most used tire. Is this tire that good? Keep her steady, deadly venom
  5. Lots of info Raub. Thanks! When I mentioned the bulge bars I was talking about the Echo type bulge bars. The upswept portion of the bars looks like they have a weird feel to them. What about the Roox Bomber bars? Are they strong and have a good fell to them? In a previous post I asked about the BT Raven 6.0. Someone mentioned that it was made of U6 alloy. Is this the alloy the Raven 6.0 is made of? I tried looking up the alloy grade on the BT website but it did not say. Ride on, deadly venom
  6. While researching trials bikes I have noticed that many riders do not use multiple gears. Is there an advantage to using single speed? Is this format more suited to street trials or is it just as good in natural trials? I would like to here some of your opinions on bulge bars and the Koxx Try All bars. Is one bar sturdier than the other? How does each bar feel? In another post I asked how difficult is it to bunny hop a long wheelbase bike. I just saw another TRA video and he was pulling some HUGE bunnyhops. I thought that I had a decent hop but this guy is unbelievable!!! He is riding the Marc Vinco bike with an 1115 wheelbase and he's hoping of the ground like it's nothing!! keep rolling, deadly venom
  7. The Odyssey cassette hub is a very good hub. I do not own the new version but I have had the older version and it was a nice sturdy hub. The price of the hub compared to others makes it even better. I can't say if it will be good for trials because I am new to trials, but like I said it was and is a good, nicely priced hub. keep riding, deadly venom
  8. There are a lot of different views on the subject of bunny hopping. I guess I am just going to have to wait until I get my bike together to find out if it is easy or difficult. I don't have a problem with bunny hoping at all. Matter of fact I can hop 4ft 9 inches at a medium roll on my Ares. How do the bulge bars feel? I have seen photos of riders using these bars but they have such a strange shape. Are the Try-All bars Comfortable and sturdy? As to what type of riding I plan to do, I plan to do natural trials. Ride on, deadly venom
  9. whiterabbit, I liked it. Although I am new to trials it looks to me like you have some skill. Is this your first video?
  10. Thank you all for the advice. I have been looking at the BT Raven 6.0 1100 the most. The design looks quite nice and is aesthetically very pleasing. I am 6ft tall and I weigh 195 pounds, would the Raven 1100 be to long for my height? I am coming from a 20inch freestyle background which means I am not used to aluminium frames. How long do these types of frames last in a natural trials setting? On the subject of handlebars. What are some of your opinions on the Try All handlebars and the Echo bars? The designs look so different. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both bars? stay up, deadly venom
  11. Waynio, Does the added wheelbase hinder a rider in performing bunny hops? It seems that the long length would make it a little more difficult to pull large bunny hops. By the way, with some of these frames having such high bottom brackets, what kind of stem would you put on a frame that had a 60mm+ bottom bracket?
  12. Is Vincent Hermance the owner of Koxx Bikes or is he just sponsored by Koxx? What are the advantages and disadvantages of Magura Hydraulic brakes? I have read mixed reviews about them. Are they better than V brakes? Are V brakes better than Magura's? Or is it just a matter of preference? Lastly, what is the advantage of the long wheelbase frames? Are they more stable than shorter wheelbase bikes? Does the added wheelbase aid in riding up steps? Please folks, give me the info Thank you, Deadly venom
  13. Snappel, Thanks for the info. I am willing to spend about $650 for a frame. The Toxin frame maybe a little difficult to get here in the United States. I can get a Czar Ivan for about $650(American) which is much less expensive than the Koxx XTP which retails for $1050 here in America. I think the BT Raven 6.0 1100 retails for around $550. There are not that many frames that are less the $500 here in America. The only one that I can think of is the Planet X Alibongo. But I have been told that the Alibongo is not a good frame for heavier riders. :)
  14. Hello everyone. I am a new member to this forum and new to trials. I hope to get good advice on trials. I have been trying to choose a first frame but I honestly don't know what to get. Their are so many frames available that choosing one has been very difficult. Lately I have been looking at the BT Raven 6.0 and a frame called the Czar Ivan. Does anyone here have any experience with either of these frames? If so, will anyone tell me their opinions on both frames? Another question about the Czar Ivan. This frame looks just like that high end Koxx frame the XTP. Is it made by Koxx or is it made by another manufacturer? Lastly, What is the Identiti judge frame for? Is it a street trials frame? Or is it for both street and natural trials? I have the same question for the DMR Sidekick as well. Is it for street or natural? If anyone can give me advice I will appreciate it greatly. ;)
