  1. Mike it's a Point Crusher, dunno if they still make them, I got it 4 years ago. I was thinking about Lesson, how much do you think he would charge for a fork like that?
  2. if all goes well, ill be building up a 24" street/trials frameset in the summer. i've got some wheels i use in my freeride bike but the front wheel has a 20mm axle. so as not to have to buy a new front wheel, im wondering if one can get a through-axle rigid fork, preferably from aluminium. funn and dmr make some out of 4130 steel, but judging by the looks they will weigh more than a monster fork any advice?

    My Kerb Vid!

you brake with two fingers? apart from that, great vid, loving the music
  4. incredible, what else can i say?
  5. sorry for the bump but does anybody have some clips ilustrating what happens with a rider when the freewheel skips on a gap? my friend is a dumbass and doesn't understand why a freewheel is important in trials
  6. just wondering, I'll be in London from the end of June to mid July, and will probably be wanting a ride badly (taking my bike with me). Is there anybody I can ride with over there without having to set up a ride in advance? And can one take a bike onto the underground or any city transport? Ill be at wimbledon and thats a hell of a long way from the spots i see you guys riding... not getting into the car either, I dont want to risk driving on the wrong side of the road by accident

  9. i had a similar problem recently, when bleeding a maggie without a proper syringe. so this is what you can do: mix your water+alcohol fuid in a glass. screw an open syringe (without this piston you push) into the caliper. then unscrew the bleeding screw at the handle. having everything at the correct angle, once you poor the fluid into the syringe you should (haha) put it into your mouth and blow strongly so as to pump the fluid into the system. if the system is still sucking up fluid, just poor some more into the syringe, but make sure you always have some fluid in there - this will keep the air out. this way worked with me, it took 5 minutes to do and there is no air in the system whatsoever edit: bath bleed is easy but its better to used demineralised water for this.
  10. Will be 30 by then, maybe have a wife and a kid. Hopefully finish univesity and have a go at a city planning or engineering course as well. Start up a business, someting to do with trade or go into banking, and in my free time travel arround the world (especially China, Japan, Hong-kong etc.) If I succeed I'd like to move back to London, but judging by the prices that is very unlikely And as far as bikes go, I think I'll ditch trials in about 3 years and start riding XC as a form of recreation

  12. theoretically the cat always lands on it's legs, so this unit would hover above the ground rotating
  13. Just translated this into english, sorry if something is difficult to understand, ive done my best 3 guys went to a restaurant and ordered a pizza for 30 pounds. They payed 10 pounds each. The waiter took the money and went to his boss. The boss said that the waiter had charged the customers too much and asked him to return them a total of 5 pounds. So the waiter thought he will devide the 5 pounds between the clients. He took 2 pounds for himself and gave the remaining 3 pounds back, each of the customers recieving 1 pound. This means that each of the clients payed 9 pounds for the pizza (spent 10 pounds and got 1 back) + 2 pounds which the waiter took for himself. This adds up to 29 pounds. Where is the remaining 1 pound?

  16. yeah probably sanding is the best method silly me i didnt think about sanding the parts, it would have saved me about 10 hours..
  17. yes if the centre of the sprocket is not "in the centre" of the crank you will either have a slightly stronger or weaker pedalkick/up but this is only theory and i dont think anybody would realise it - the offset is no more than 1mm if the chainrings are not straight one could use a file to shape the teeth to the right diameter this is bloody annoying - you pay 20 pounds to get a proper chainring and you cant use it
  18. got slightly lost and replied in your other topic about polishing try polishing anodised parts before you start taking orders
  19. well maybe you'd fancy an exotic toad ?
  20. ive been learning to tap on a mod for 2 years, and still can't get higher than about 105cm to back wheel. funny is i can do it much higher on a stock. going for bunnhops now because ive finally got myself a short jumpy frame. my piece of advice is not to bother with taps unless you want to learn it just for the sake of it. IMO its a great feeling when you tap objects of up to 80cm Mark what happens between the 4 and 5th pic?
  21. It's a great job but take into account that having done the frame you will probably want to polish the rest of your bike (it's addictive) and you will therefore be dealing with anodised components. To remove the coat you need either a specific acid or sand paper. And from past experience i dont reccomend using sand paper in any form. Just a remark I admire your determination on doing the frame, I've probably gone off polishing for the rest of my life after doing two rims, a stem, fork, cranks pedals and a headset. All apart from the fork were anodised and it was an awful job. Edit: also i find it is much quicker to use a polishing stone to do the preliminary polishing and then finish it of with Auto*... or Brasso (having tried both i find brasso is far better).
  22. Id like to set my chain to be fairly tight so it doesnt bash the frame, but I can't because something is not straight in the drivetrain and the chain loosens and tightens while pedaling. I'd understand it if the cranks, chainring, bb and hub weren't new. The chain has no tight links. The cranks are screwed in straight and hard. Had the same problem with my old drivetrain, only it wasnt so severe. Any advice on what could be wrong?

    GU Short

Short GU, kings, tensiles, zoo, viz, echo - and - 100% koxx/tryall free! Haven't ridden it properly yet because of an injury but the 10 minutes of riding convinced me that this is the f***ing best frame i have ever got hold of. Never again to long bikes! Second version of the disc mount - 3mm high grade cr-mo steel, slightly heavy but tough.
  24. there isnt much to comment, but here it goes: i like your style, but you could have kept the stock clip to yourself
