well mesure your bike if you can, at least I'll be sure I got the non-silly one
-
Dan so you have the long model? Or do we both have short and the long is like 1080mm WB?

Hello I have just recieved a GU frame. It was deffinately sent as a short one (that's what's on the bill), I have just built the bike up and it is a bit longer than my 05 python frame, which is 1040mm. The length of the bottom tube is 680mm. I want to double check on this before I consult the shop so if somebody has a GU Long/Short frame, could you please mesure the wheelbase and the length of the bottom tube? Alex

We see lots from sponsored riders. All these Zoo Videos were popular arround the world because it was quite a well known brand, and they could be downloaded via a easy to find link. Echo Videos as well. Would we ever have heard about Lee Shi Ming or Yao Zhi if not for Deng? TRA's first videos where also Koxx/Echo promoting videos. But the Germans (from the Bra...blabla video) don't produce videos to promote the company whose bike they're using, but to show some good riding. And therefor they're easily forgotten about.

So basically it all revolves arround videos? Thats what I thought but it's difficult for an outsider to judge, because one doesn't get the chance to see the real stuff. Are many of you folks from towns or villages where you have to ride alone? It's a bit like the trials big brother, you give another person the chance to see your skills, and then whach what their is like. Hope this makes sense

Thats why I mentioned urban trials. Obviously most of the top UCI and BTIU riders are from spain and france. It's just that competition trials is so boring to watch, so is natural riding. Its great fun when your on the rocks though

http://www.tehacnet.wcentrum.info/photo/ Just a few pics from Scotland I took two years ago. Would do great for trials, there're more small rocks arround not only thos huge ones.

this wheel mount or whatever you call it has also been the choice of 20" toxsin frames. its fairly simple and works well, but is a pain in the arse if you want to put in a non-standard hub (my friend had to pull his hub apart to get the wheel into his toxsin). Also theres nothing to accidentaly hit and therefor relocate the wheel, and that can happen the bike looks great, and those V!Z forks... first time I've seen them on a bike although they've been arround for quite a while now. It's also the first time I've seen Hayes brakes to be mounted on the rear..

jealousy... i think the videos are great.... and i agree they have changed the trials scene. remember it well, the changes started with the Craig_zoo_python movie or sth similar. damn it was awesome... yep, but after you reach a certain stage you need somebody to ride with you, preferably of greater skill, but within reach. Need sb like that badly...

thats why i envy you have a few big guys in my city, but they dont go big any more
-
the higher you go, the more difficult it will be to go higher the difference between 5 and 6 is quite big, took me a few months to get to six, and over half a year to get to 7. just practice, take advantage of the front wheel. sure your getting close

this video made me feel very sad nevertheless, i like the movie very much try getting closer to the edge when gapping. it will make things easier for you and your drivetrain. keep it up

Hello As somebody from outside the UK I am a bit puzzled by what makes you guys such good urban trials riders. I can only judge by what I see on videos, and most of them are smashing. I have not yet seen a very poor trials video from the UK. So what contributes to the English style? Certainly large dropgaps, gaps, the newschool sidehop, front wheel onto rail (dunno how you call it), huge taps. It's surprising that we don't see much of this in countries like Spain, France. German riders are magnificent but they have a different style - calm, easy. When I watch CLS or Tunnis moves it's like will he kill himself or not, is the bike going to stand it or will it just fall apart. I can name various incredibly good riders from arround the world, who make many videos and have never published any of the - may I call them - typically English moves. I dont believe that you guys ride more than the average passionate about trials person. So what makes you sidehop 128cm on a stock, or even 140cm on a mod bike? Strength? The fantastic English food? Royal Tea perhaps? During the short time I've been here, I have already read posts of youngsters who claim to have been riding for a few years. That's a great future. Baxter... he's probably a few times better than I am, and still he's twelve (correct me if I'm wrong). Damon claimed to be riding a year and a bit when we he released a movie with massive sidehops. Some of the moves are becoming boring to watch, like CLS and Tunicliffe doing sidehops onto fences or jumps onto the front wheel. But only when one tries it oneself, does one see how much precision, courage and devotion it needs to learn a "trick" like that. just an observation, but isn't leeds or liverpool the capital city of english trials? There are probably more of you there, than trials riders in my country... Another thing: do you guys know your vertical jump? Do you do Air Alert or Kangaroohops? Or do you just naturally develop your strength on a bike? I'll be working at the Wimbledon champs this year, and hope to take my bike with me. It would be great to ride arround with you guys, and improve my skills a bit. Just a brief thought, what do you think? Cheers, Alex

id say the UK, theres also a city in germany which is full of trials riders
-
yep and he hardly bends his legs.... alike tra or benito who'd go right down to the ground if it wasnt for the wheel
-
currently importing trials parts from the uk, made a hell of a lot of money at all times - trade, and wouldnt mind being a tart for lesbians

a Sony MiniDV handycam, HC series. not too expensive and most of them give a high quality image. make sure you get the dv output (and preferably an input aswell as bound to come in handy in the future)

i havent got a king yet, but IMO its due to the low temperature. grease gets very thick when its cold, and is probably blocking the system. dunno if you should use the ringdrive without lube, but i'd remove it with petrol and put some WD40 or thin oil in. you can best see the effect of low temerature on a front shocker, in the winter they don't work at all
