moving to a lite, or something, would make your riding loads better my riding improved quite abit when i went from t-bird to a python, the geo on the lites is prety damn awesome to . you might wanna change your gearing to 18-12 instead of 22-18 that your probably running now, gives you miles more power...

yes, but make sure you invest in a good lever (sd7 will be perfect) i've used crap levers and i've needed to use 2 sometimes but with a good lever and cable and setup one finger is fine

get the lite toby, they look way cleaner

get some dot brake fluid [go into a car mechanic place, they'll sort you out] and open the cap on the top of the lever. make sure the lever is flat, and pour in some fluid, pump the lever repeat as the fluid level lowers in the reservior. then buy new pads if that doesn't work. any riders who live nearby who can help? if that sounds a bit heavy, take it to a local bike shop.

make sure the nipples arent to tight, i tend to make them saggy-as untill all the spokes are in, then one at a time completely undo them, then tighten them all X turns. my last two builds have beem scratch free. you can touch up the scratches prety easily with nail paint [crafty lbs tip there...]

you do hooks alot? riding probably affects the geo abit
