  1. Just search for the 10 thousand other topics people have made on the same subject. I do recommend reading the PAD REVIEW topic PAD REVIEW TOPIC
  2. Aye, Tis nice. But personally, I'd want to burn out the detail in the black and white, just so the bike stood out more. Otherwise its only really the pink flesh that makes it stand out against the black figure on a silver/grey bike.
  3. LOL, you can't just make 1 change, and its legal. As you've openly admitted your going to copy someone else's design. Its not the legal side of it. Whoever it is, has spent time and money creating and testing and developing a design. Working with riders and teams, metal suppliers and machinists to produce something that works well.... and you just want to rip em off... who cares if its legal mate... you suck. You are virtually trying to screw over the likes of heatsink, by stealing thier ideas and trying to do them out of business.
  4. I was under the impression that the inner of a brake cable was the same the world over... I mean, what can you do to a wound core of steel? I've just got what ever my local shop had in. I Can't say i've ever noticed much difference on a branded cable.
  5. Fair enough, he only does 44", but is that cause he rides a stock? or is it just the highest he can go as a person? All I'm saying is that ryan leech manages to ride trials to a world class standard on his mountain bike frame... complete with seat
  6. Sounds an excellent way to move it forward Make a Trials Mod for an existing game. Cause all the coding is in there already. Like you say, the modding community for Unreal is massive. I suppose it wouldn't be a million miles away to edit the bmx properties in GTA: San Andreas... just an idea
  7. Hiya, Don't want to piss on your bomfire, but its one thing having a 3D model. Its another thing having a computer game. What rendering engine are you going to import into? Who is going to construct the 3D environment? I don't mean draw a map in a 3D program, but assign attributes to the whole thing for a rendering engine to process. Who will make the soundscape. Where will the physics engine come from? Who is going to code the all the game logic into the engine? Are you going to seek licensing from the manufacturers to use thier registered trademarks in a computer game? I'd imagine it would be considerably easier producing it as a Mod for an existing game.... I mean they make rally games for quake engines. They have produced RTS Mods for halflife. If it was that easy to make a game, why are there no cycling games?
  8. Look at Ryan Leech.... He manages perfectly with what kinda looks more like a dirt jumpers bike than a trials bike (complete with a seat ) He manages some massive sidehops, and all the gap, taps and tricks you want. You Don't NEED a magic new bike to do stuff, thats just an excuse. Its not evolution by any stretch of the imagination. Its just ease of use and weight saving. I appreciate not having a seat on my stock, cos I always smack my leg on them.
  9. I've seen it done on a rim before.... can't find the picture to hand... have you searched the forum. I thought it looked crap. But I think lots of things. HERE WE GO Knurling a rim It looks fine on his rim... guess he used a block of wood
  10. Slice? oh dear god. Ermm, all the text and hyperlinks should be coded in html, either with a wysiwyg like dreamweaver or frontpage. Or you code it by hand in notepad. Then set out you page layout and layout the graphics, I personally use tables, you have so much control over graphic placement. To be honest you've kinda worked it back to front. I strongly recommend reading a good book on the topic. You want to minimize the amount of actual graphic on the page
  11. I'll give this 5 mins before its removed
  12. LMAO.... Yer, you've really shown me up. Tell you what, go put some oil on your dads brake discs and tell him its to keep the rust off.
  13. Sorry... As usual i'm pretty crap at explaining what i'm trying to say. I'm saying that the moves we all do is the style: a particular manner or technique by which something is done Over say how cool it looks Flair: a uniquely attractive quality I'm saying that the way someone taps up a wall uses the same technique AKA Style.... Where as some riders do it with so much flair it is unbelievable. So unless someone has a unique technique for getting over something.... if they are performing a move no one else can, surely then we all have a similar style?? Or am I missing the point
  14. Jesus Wept.... are you all mental.... I hope none of you every have a leaking brake caliper on your car. I can see you all trying to squeeze the fooking whole front wishbone suspension and disc into a bowl of water in your kitchen, while screaming... "No, No, Its alright mum, it works, I read it on the internet" If you have WD40 on your rotor, just use a degreasing agent, maybe thinners, Christ, even vinegar would also work. You don't need to boil the thing.... its the stupidest idea I have ever heard, a pure exercise is wasting time Boiling it won't displace WD40.... WD... Water Displacer ... Water can't displace it... ring any bells. Washing up liquid has degreassing properties, but its also soapy, and leaves a fine film, unless thoroughly rinsed. Again boiling pads won't remove any WD40 from them if its penatrated the compound, your not going to coax it out with water. The pads will pretty much be a write off. Using regular unleaded petrol on a cloth would help to considerably clean the surface, but again.... if its penatrated.
  15. I honestly don't think there is much style in trials, because its all a bunch of preset moves. I believe its more that once you've mastered the move, once its effortless, you end up adding flair. Its just the way it is. I doubt you could identify a particular riding style, and be able to categorically box it off as riding style A. Maybe some pro's have a riding style, but I honestly doubt if they all dressed it black, and took turns riding, many people wouldn't be able to say who each rider was.
  16. I don't think bike companies give any guarantee to the performance of thier bikes, but I guess you could have the company you purchased it on for being "Suitable for the purpose for which it was sold" Bikes sold for leisure must meet the BS 6102 standards, so if it failed on that, you might have a case. But it could be reasonably argued that you are aware of the dangers of the sport you undetake, and failed to take suitable precautions to avoid injury..... I mean, how many people do you see on videos without helmets. I know pretty much every bike I've had for XC (Marin's / GT's) come with a maintenance manual, and you would have to prove the bike was well maintained and serviced by a compotent person, before the bike company was liable.
  17. BB7, It locks plenty hard, with some modulation and its easier to set up than hydraulics. Oh and its less than half the price
  18. But its Japanese web site. Its going to be utterly useless to 95% of the forum.
  19. Don't want to sound like I'm pushing this fella's website.... but when I got my HeatSink Booster. It came with all the bolts and spacers I needed for it. Otherwise you'll have to pop down B&Q and just get some plastic/metal tube and cut it down, so when the booster is on, it ain't touching the maggies.
  20. Love Avid BB7's... bit harder to come by now though. But like all brakes, its the pad that you should think about, not so much the name of the capiler.
  21. Yer all bolts are the same
  22. Hey Carl, welcome to the community
  23. Long or short.... depends on what kind of riding you do. Its completly irrelavant because with good technique you can do the same things on both...... So what kind of riding do you do?
  24. Jesus wept, Do you people seriously know so little about motorcars? Why don't you try to behave more like your swayed by peer pressure and let other people dress you There are plenty of other, better cars out there that are as cheap, safer and faster. Sure a mini is cheap, there are loads of aftermarket mods for it, but that doesn't make the car good.... does it. Oh and lets not forget the cost of repairing the damage to a mini. I've seen loads of lads have to scrap a mini they spent thousands on cos the toffee sub frame and chassis has bent. Oh and you'll look proper gay trying to beat any grown up car. Either get a proper classic mini, one that looks smart, and looks like you intended to buy it, rather than win it in a game of poker. Or not bother.
  25. 1 and 1 is possibly the worst internet provider ever. Unless you want a dead basic site, with no forums or anything. I use Catalyst2, who have excellent customer service and great value for money. Its run by a real person who is willing to talk to his users. Its a few quid for a Internet domain name. one that ends is .co.uk is cheaper and lasts 2 years between subscribing, a .com is a 1 year duration and costs more.
