Fit series 3. Very light but hard to find and expensive to buy. I imagen the whole bike weighs in at around 22 pounds.
-
Try landing at more of an angle. Also try to push your back foot downwards so the tensioner can't be hit. I know i only had one go and put my foot down when side hopping your bike but it seemed alright to me
-
Try to not ride at a wall top speed and hit your bash guard. If your freewheel does start clicking/ slipping it will be because it's wearing in or because its so cold.

As everyone knows the older bikes tend to break easier. When i came back to trials i didn't even know who Deng was and that Megamo weren't in business anymore. The Megamo site is still up however. It has all the bikes on there. They are still in demand (by small numbers), does that not tell you something about them?

Not Biking Really But what Music Helps You Ride Bands And Genre
eskimo replied to teeth's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I can only listen to music on the bmx. The trials bike takes to much concentration. Although i haven't tried it on the trials bike. Arch Enemy Slayer -
Has it ever worked or did it just stop working? Try it on another tv. Try another set of cables from a friend. Ring Microsoft's 0800 number. It's free. Look in the manual for troubleshooting. Kick the console. Sell it and buy some new forks. Have you plugged in too many cables? Perhaps the cables aren't in the correct places. The last 5 are just silly.

Not too tight! Otherwise you will regret it. That applies to stem, pedals, brakes etc. Read some bike faqs. Like chain tension etc. LINK You will find yourself wanting to upgrade or downgrade parts. You will find yourself getting bored of your current parts and want some more or you just love your bike that you will spend some money on her now and then.

That vid was rather cool. He's not really a high end rider though i believe. But that tail to nose was awesome nonetheless.

Bristol Ride, Next Wednesday (hopefully)
eskimo replied to Tim-Hill..Yeah Mate's topic in Member Organised Rides
Going by what it was like yesterday it should be fun. It was completely dry in Bristol yesterday which ruled. Fun ride yesterday, Alex (bristol_base). You better have those front to backs dialled by the next time we ride. -
I did say 'some people'. Me not included.

The thing being though it's NMC. Thats why new members are posting here and not in Trials Chat. So all sorts of posts that the 'older members' don't like to see end up somewhere where it doesn't bother them/ us/ you. I don't like the early onza's. The blue t-mag with square tubing. Arh gash. Oh yeah and all those 'other' bikes like da bomb etc. They haven't proven to be worthy of anything but being nasty bikes. I liked Dan-ko's stock proto. Only had a 5min go before Dan called me back. I think we was scared for his mech It actually had bunny hop potential even though it was 55+ bb rise. Sweet!

Don't blow all your money on one yet. Buy a second hand one off here or ebay. That way you will get a half decent spec bike which shouldn't need upgrading. But you are unsure on what parts you will need. Just get someone in the know how to tell you if that 'python 05' (for example) second hand is what you need and doesn't need upgrading or need any repairs. This way you won't waste loads of money, realize it's too hard, not fun and you then want a bmx. Or end up wanting a different bike. You shouldn't blow 1000 pound on a first bike really. Wait until you find what style fits you best and what spec you really need after riding for a few months or so. If your heart is set on getting a new one though, try these... Onza Monty [edit] Damn you posted another post before i posted. 150 won't get you very far. You say 'wreck'. Do you mean you don't want to break a new bike. Don't worry no matter how good you are bike always break. Just do what i said. But if you really can't afford 300/400 then do the ebay thing.

Depends which way you look at it.. Street isn't a a certain type of riding in a way. For example you get: street trials street bmx street skating ect etc So therefore they are trials riders even if they were to say 'no i'm a street rider'. You could do trials on a bmx but what would you be then? You would be a trials rider if you didn't ride skateparks on it, i guess? This is just what i think, no flaming/ salting/ abuse needed, thanks.

It also gets people using sentences correctly. And stops spam to a certain degree. Topic will be closed soon enough though. A little tip, don't post topics like this as it won't help your validation process.

The geo is rather different as well. There are a few topics around on them. I am very curious to how they ride. Some people are 'up in arms' to wether the hub flange would be strong enough for such a big wheel.
-
You say they disengage very easily. When going for a tail tap on a quarter you do tend to roll back slightly to get that balance. Would it disengage then? Also on 540 taps, if the hub were to disengage it could be rather dangerous. The ramp riders who do use freecoasters tend to use brakes. I haven't seen any freecoaster ramp riders going brakeless. This is why i am unsure on the fact of using a freecoaster as i ride ramp a fair bit now. Maybe it's just down to changing the way you actually perform these moves? Maybe if i were to buy a freecoaster and set it to engage on the highest setting (?) then when pulling doing a fakie down a big ramp i would just use a whole pedal stroke to disengage the hub. I guess that would be a good setup? As it would allow quick pedal kicks to a certain extent. OBM have you ever used one? I wonder do they slip as they're not running on normal cassette pawls, are they? I think the question being is; on the highest setting how much pedal movement would i need for it to engage, half/ quarter pedal stroke or less?

Bristol Ride, Next Wednesday (hopefully)

I'll be up for that no doubt. You say weather provided, looking at current weather it won't be sunny or raining just damp, foggy and cold. -
Less than what i spent on my bmx. Although i'm always changing parts around. All my money goes on bikes, no new clothes gadgets or crap like that to buy. 90% of the time that is. Had to buy a trial noir tee a while back. [edit] fogot about that best thing bit. The zebra rim for the bmx and the 'trial' magura for the mod.
-
Anybody want to come out for a few hours. Nothing serious just a foggy and damp ride.
-
No opening christmass presents before christmass day again, ok? I can see why you wanted to ride it asap though. Very nice. Best PR i've seen.
-
Was a cool vid. The tune was different as well but fitted with the riding so it worked out nicely. As for the pizzin thing, it's been done before, sorry.
-
Yes, yes he does. How come?
-
Not so sure about this idea. No one has mentioned the obvious fact that cnc cranks don't flex. 3 piece bmx cranks do flex. Therefore more power. You know where i'm going with this anyway.
-
I mean you can't tail tap with a freecoaster (brakeless) and also use pedal kicks and pedal locks for fakie stuff so thats where the chain stress would be eliminated. But as you said backpedalling will stress it out. I'm curious to why you said half links being stronger on a micro drive rather than a normal chain. Is it because the chain can twist further round, therefore raping itself round the smaller 9t better? But due to the fact that micro gears stress the chain out because the ratio of pull is the same just on less teeth so therefore the stress is divided onto less links, thus still causing chain snappage. I hope you understand what i tried to explain there. A show/ tell would be easier
-
ahhhh, still a micro drive hub? Although if running a freecoaster there isn't going to be much stress on the chain so i guess it would matter too much. I'm a 36/13 kinda guy.
