I noticed that when the new members get upgraded to a real member then their spelling, gramma and everything else drops below standard as they don't have to try to be a member any more. Which isn't a very good thing really. I think the rules are there to stop spam and pointless posts so when you open a thread it's actually worth reading. I find that when seeing some of the poor sentences which are put together, it just makes the posts harder to read. Also some of the 'txt talk' isn't actually 'txt' talk. Just an abbreviation which is in the English dictionary. So it is allowed i guess. But it's not very common here. I think seeing more 'mod or stock' topics is more annoying than reading misspelled words. But is OT and IMO condidered 'txt talk' or an abbreviation? Slightly off topic here. But ah well.

Don't ask that question. Our hopes of a semi-local trials park will disappear.

But if you enjoy it, why quit? You would only regret it. [edit] Hang on a sec, you said 'there aren't many girl riders around here'. Meaning you do have other females to ride with. Is that not enough? Many of us on here ride by ourselves so you are lucky to have the seen you do.

Look on some of the previous pages of NMC. This topic comes up everyweek or so. You should be able to find the answers there.

I know Aorta and Adamant A3's are popular at the moment. Look into them as well. Ko-bike's are nice to ride. Built in booster but looks like a Gu in a way. Also Monty are cheap and bunny hop better than other mods.
-
The t-pro is better equipped but the spec is tbc. Which makes it an uncertain decision over which bike. The Monty looks the part though especially in Scothbrite. With vee mounts some may say it 'makes it worse' but vee brakes still rule. As you have Hs33's already then you could fit them to the t-pro i guess or with some evo mounts to the Monty. But why waste those loverly mounts on such a brake? As you have guessed i like the Monty. Yes it needs some upgrades but it still wins for me.

I'll give you a tenner if you can bend that sort of alloy. I ain't sure what series it is. Most likely 7 which is impossible to bend. All Zoo! bars will flex time to time and also creak but don't let it worry you.

Ever tried a chrome rim with a vee-brake? A deore vee-brake. Plaz Fly pads. Sweet (in the dry)

Yeah it's pretty sweet. Although my left thigh hurts so bad. I had cramp all the way home and couldn't get ride of it. Rode Bristol today in the rain. Was more of a fun day really, no serious riding happened.
-
Man that is sick. Can't wait to ride it. Only 15 mins up the road from so i'll be riding there a bit if its good. Well if it's designed by trials riders then it should be. Your riding Bristol day yar? Where will you be at 11.00

What you say is true but Seventies said that they made up for it. I do mean shorter on the back end however.

The weather is suppost to be rather nice tommoro. Chilly but dry and possibly sunny. As for meeting there is the 3 big steps round the corner of temple meads. That is the normal meeting spot. If we were to meet at Lloyds we would miss loads of the spots on the way there. Either way see you tommoro. I'll be bringing my coust pads just in case.

For people who wanted to ride on Sunday who can't on Saturday 'cause of the indoor comp etc. Here is the link if you haven't already seen it. LINK I guess this thread is allowed.

Bristol ! 10th December Sunday !
eskimo replied to Danny Swindlehurst's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Nor do i. But i always end up going. I'll put a topic in Rides/Locations for you as no one has already. I'll be there both days. I hope none of you will bottle it because of Sunday's weather if it does turn bad. -
That is very true. In saying ' a normal 6lb frame' it would be better to say a good 6lb frame as some of them were not very strong. For example the Fly Estamida. But my Macneil Ruben frame went through so much and has a crack next to the headtube which never got any bigger for the duration i was riding it. I do believe that his new frame couldn't withstand as much as the old Macneil Ruben. So my argument is a bit un-valid as there are weak 6lb frames. But if i were to say my Ruben wouldn't of broke like his Hawk frame i think i could be right. I find that my L.A.F feels brittle and not as rigid as my Ruben which makes me believe that 5lb frames aren't as strong as the heavier ones in most cases. But in saying that, like you said 'We've got no idea what forces the frame was subjected to before that', would put a downer on my argument. It also could of been a proto-type. But knowing what my Ruben went through over the years and how weak my L.A.F feels i think that they aren't as strong as there made out to be. Frames like houses aren't made to last anymore. But i can only be sure if my L.A.F breaks. So i guess you win.

You can also get your variations out Full cab slider Over cab Full cab to rubber wrist Opp cab Full cab pivot etc etc, you know what i mean

There are some freecoasters about known as SYM hubs. They have a lifetime guarantee and are supposed to be different to normal freecoasters in the way they lock up correctly. However if you were to consider buying on you probably wouldn't want to after seeing the price. Anyhow why would you want a freecoster on a trials bike? Heres a thread about freecoasters.
-
I was never told about the crash so it makes sense that it fell apart. Although a normal 6lb frame wouldn't. But i know that droping a bike onto its front end doesn't happen everyday.
-
I bought the L.A.F as it had a 75dg head angle was light but not too short. I have now found it is pretty damn short. The sizes they give don't make much sense really. Anyhow S&M i doubt will warranty my frame if it snaps even though it says on their website loads of stuff about bending and breaking. Odyssey on the other hand i hear are rather good with warranty though. But i wouldn't want my bike to be all Odyssey like everyone elses. If i could change my frame and parts, i would.

A Saracen. Can't remmember the name of it but it cost £200 and i thought it was amazing. Upgraded to D521's front and back with Avid Arch Rival vee brakes. I then bought a Monty x-alp. Then finally a DDG shooter. And a Monty X-Hydra. Then i quit. And took up bmx. Now i'm back 3 years later.

Pijin are free postage and are realiable. Good shop. I'm still undecided on the taiwan and american made products. If my S&M frame lasts i will be happy but as for their forks i'm more than unhappy about them. But they have updated them so the problems i got won't happen again with the new ones. The new taiwan made Hawk Fit frame, snapped at the backyard jam i believe. I think it was backyard, my friend was saying. The headtube just snapped off. I guess i will find out soon enough.

I would go for the S&M stem over the Odyssey one. I know OBM and Poopipe will disagree. There are some nice stems coming out now as well. What about the Coalition one or the WTP Supreme stem, that is a nice stem. I've been running my Macneil Ruben stem for 3 years or so now. It out lived the frame. Only 'cause i don't run it anymore though. It weighs loads and i've never had any problems yet *touch wood*. I also bought a backup one, if that isn't asking for trouble i don't know what is. Perhaps the clamping problem your having is because the bar/ stem ridges have worm away or it needs tightening correctly. I mean tighten all bolts the same, like you would on a magura 4 mount. Or maybe its because your running a Hidden Destination stem Which i do doubt anyway. Forget i mentioned those. Anyhow my choice for you is S&M or WTP
