Get inspiration from better riders videos, make lil mental targets to yourself that are just possible for you to achieve each day you go out. Try actually making a "line" out of things instead of just doing that gap, that sidehop, that tap etc thats always entertaining because it'l most likely take you a lil time to complete the line, making your day out funnier  and it looks a hell of alot better on film. Making / linking moves more technical is interesting eg; basic wheelswap (aka front to back) made technical by including a 180 up to it or down from it. Theres loads of drops in trials most of the time whatever the size, there will always be several drops in a day of riding, so by varying how you drop off will improve your "overall skills/tricks/moves" when this devolpment happens its normally seen as improving.
