Could that be just 'cos it's still a sketchy hypothesis at present?
  2. By law, you can sign yourself off work for up to 7 (in a row) days without having to provide a sick note from a doctor. After this, you need to bring a signed sick note from a doctor/nurse. If your company lays you off you could claim unfair dismissal.

I didn't know shit about it before, I still don't know shit about it now. Life's still going on I guess.
  4. And while you send your wheel to Mike, we'll gleefully ride on, and when you pay him £10 we'll gleefully take a money bath :S
  5. Woo! It thawed, and there seems to be no damage...
  6. Have you just got a standard keyboard? If so, there are little foam pad bits that you can buy that go in front of the keyboard on your table that you can rest your wrist on. There's the same thing for your mouse; a mousemat with a built in cushiony bit at one end that supports your wrist. They're really, really good, and might be a worthwhile investment if you've got RSI.
  7. Seriously, it's the Hope skewer. My friend had that trouble; changed to some cheap crappy one and it worked better. It's the same story for a load of people. Hope skewers are whack!

It's more just a case of if it can be prevented that'd be better?
  9. And it's also down to 11 years more of evolution of riding (Y) Think of gaps to front, etc.

Animals are survival machines, and it's not necessarily who is strongest who will win, unless you mean "strongest mentally". Either way, humans are shit, yet we're still around? We're not particularly strong, we're not particularly good at anything apart from communication. Yet we are now the dominate species on the world. EDIT: Either way, I was replying to the quote "It's survival of the strongest", which is wrong. The nearest you could get to an accurate statement would "Surival of the fittest", as long as you mean the most fit for their task or something...
  11. I'm not planning on bleeding it any time soon though, so hopefully I won't compound it's problems by tinkering with it at all.

That's not actually how it works in nature, but there we go...

    No School!

I guess what he was getting at was that there's pointing out people's mistakes, and then there's being a cunt?
  14. Ahoy hoy. Basically, last night I left my bike in the caravan in our back garden instead of our garage. It was well cold (-5C), and my front Magura froze solid. Does this put any more pressure on the seals, or not? Is it going to damage the brake in any way? Thanks for any help, Mark.
  15. If the bolt has sheared, you'll be able to move it away from the sheared section of bolt remaining inside the lever body itself, but when you try and tighten it up, it'll not be able to move it, thus stopping it moving.
  16. I wouldn't have thought it'd be have stopped the TPA moving though? It'd just make the brake feel ultra mushy, as opposed to shearing the TPA bolt, which is what sounds as if it's happened (Y)
  17. If you're running two Maguras, piss the other one off by changing it when you changed your raped one. It's going to happen, so you might as well pre-empt it. Plus, I've got more movement now with mine due to the longer bolt, so I can be nicely lazy setting up, even though I still spend a while every Saturday making sure it's all rockin' \m/
  18. I'd have thought it'd all have to be under water. I've never really had any trouble with the syringe; if you've got it I'd use the bleed kit. It takes no time at all. However, if you don't, it's a reasonable alternative.
  19. Bloody hell, that's probably the last time Wonkeysadle_Rich was actually online (Y) :)
  20. I proper bashed the crap out of my bashring on my Tensiles. I was riding it without a bashplate, so just the ring, and it took it all. So yeah, it must've been a sketchy batch or something to break like that (Y) Walls died before the bashring did. Div, how do you know the BB was OK? Spindle might've been a bit mashed or something? I thought you lost one of the plates from the pedal inserts anyway, the bit on the inside? Mark.
  21. You could, but only if you drank a *lot* of water and managed to piss it all out in one continous flow so there were no air bubbles. Plus God forbid you snap a hose.
  22. Yeah. I'm guessing it'd be beneficial if you keep one end above the other as well so there's somewhere for the air bubbles to leave through, too. Don't forget that if you've been using Magura blood/mineral oil previously to empty them fully prior to bathing them. Make sure you pump some air through the system with some kind of track pump/air compressor to blow out all the congealed crap in there too. Mark.
  23. 1.) What fluids had he previously used? 2.) Which "seal" went? 3.) What lever was he using? Plus, if it's a shit bleed, it'll feel shit anyway - just in case it was down to a crappy bleed...
