    Bmx Questions

Odyssey Slic Cable if you can be bothered. Longer, cheaper Clarks cable like me if you can't.
  2. So how come the old 221 frame cost £530, and now the full bike costs just over £100 more? Seems a little strange  There've been cuts in the frame somewhere? Or is this a new bike and Monty have given it an established name to help it sell well... Either way, thanks for the info (Y) We could really do with a 'pondering' smilie :( Mark.
  3. SuperCycles 0115 941 11 33. They are Onza, so if you want an Onza product, they'll have it.
  4. No, I think you just need to: a) Read the Section7 interview with the Coustellier's Dad, and b ) Realise that it was edited, and some of it may have been lost in translation. The BikeShow wasn't 'cos we're xenophobic, hence the riders from around the world. Seemed to be more a company politics sorta thing. Of course, putting the worlds best riders on your billing can't hurt attendance figures, even if they don't turn up in the end... Oh, and Raub - by ";)\" and quoting our posts, I meant it meant the same thing, and people seemed to be ignoring the fact that was contained within 'em.
  5. Nah, his Dad said that in fairness, and from what I've heard it was a bit...misquoted, I guess you could say... Maybe the natural's just not good enough here for him or summat. What's street like in Newcastle anyway? Hold up - why do I even care? ;) HOLD ON Where does it even say that Gilles has no-one to ride with 'cos there's no-one as good as him? It just says that he's moving to a different country and has no-one to ride with. That's probably because of the whole "new to the city, new to the country" thing he'll have going on?

    Backwheeling.

From the album: Onzaboymark's Folder o' Shite

Me, backwheeling, video, screen shots, sequence.
  7. Living in France, a shit's throw from amazing places to ride, with your family and friends - to Newcastle?
  8. Basically, this is going nowhere. Tom. You've ridden these pads for less than 3 or 4 hours. We don't care. Review them when you've had them for a decent length of time. Equally, review them in the RimJam thread. READ THE NEW STICKY IN THE TRIALS CHAT HOME-PAGE OR I'LL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND JAB YOU. Mark. PS. Oh, and if you type like a 'tard don't be surprised when people don't bother reading it.

    Pad Reviews

Right. Not that it's really annoying (well, yeah, it IS), but can you please try and keep pad reviews in ONE thread? There are threads specifically about RimJam pads, Heatsinks and...er..."Tart" pads, so please think about the children and post reviews in there. Please. Someone think of the children. Either way, it's getting out of hand. There are more reviews from people who've just opened envelopes with pads in than are really necessarily. Equally, if people are thinking of buying pads, if all the reviews for a company are in one thread, it's a lot easier. And, again, it's not half as annoying. One last thing - if you're writing a review: 1. If you've only just received the pads and have ridden for less than a day, DON'T click Post Reply. One day of riding means very, very little. 2. If you've only just received the pads, we don't care if there's "No noticeable wear". There won't be. 3. Keep it simple. Pad type. Mod/Stock. Rim type. Rim surface (ground, tar, etc.). 4. Simple review. Good/not so good. Give reasons. So yeah, just to stop people like my good self getting pissed off, follow these rules. M'kay? Mark. Heres the standard review format
  10. Diamond or DW or something maybe?
  11. Well, Cornford's site is Flash-based so no URL image links, but yeah, check out Cornford's site 'cos it's really swish. Our drummer's buying a new kit, can't remember what, but it's setting him back over a grand. Looks truly awesome, all black with non-cheesy flames. Way cool. However, he's only using it in his practise room or in the recording studio, so the world will never know ;) Mark. oooh oooh oooh, and here's my bass that's coming in December. Can't f**kin' wait.
  12. Shitty electronics? I guess it's just that if you're using a really dirty tone unless it's a good quality amp it'll probably have a bit of background noise which'll just get drowned out the louder you go? Speaking of guitar amps - Al's decided he wants another amp to go with his Mesa Boogie Nomad, so he's getting a Cornford Hellcat head. We went and checked one out, and it's the nicest amp I have ever seen. It just looks f**kin' awesome! http://www.cornfordamps.com or something like that. I'll try and get a pic. Mark.
  13. ...equally, if you wanna become a session musician you'll need to be able to sight-read. We're going through it in my bass lessons now, and it's not all that bad, it's just a matter of practising. It's still pretty freaking hard, but you get used to it. It's got to the stage now where I can read a sequence and not even have to think about fretting it 'cos I'll just do it, but I can't keep reading across bars at the right speed, for some reason :(
  14. Mainly 'cos if you've learnt an instrument like piano, etc., you'll have been taught the 'classical' way where you get taught not to learn parts but to read them. This means they're more comfortable with the sheet music in front of them. Also, it's super useful. When I went and joined this jazz workshop thing, we had two days to learn 8 songs. I didn't 'learn' them, I just had to sight read them (like grade 8 standard too. we're talking fackin' hard), and it's really useful. And it's also pretty amazing how good some people are at sight-reading :(\ Anyway, yeah, I guess it's just what they're used to... Mark.
  15. If someone adds me to MSN, I'll send 'em the pics and they can try and upload them somewhere. I've got no attachment/gallery space left :( Mark.
  16. Have you ever heard of Dennis Rollins? I did a jazz workshop run by him, he's a freakin' awesome 'freestyle' Trombonist. Check out his site (www.dennisrollins.com) for MP3s, etc.
  17. I didn't realise that was a link and was about to call you amazingly stupid.
  18. There, bastards :- The one I was trying to upload was 4.53Mb big. This is just over 1/3 of the size of the original, which was 1/3 size of the original photos (Y) Anyway, wank away.
  19. Oi, guitarists. This is Alan's new guitar to go with his Jem. This is one seriously f**kin' pimp guitar. Bone inlays around the neck (the creamy white bits you can see). The "Jackson" on the headstock is Mother of pearl. The top of the knobs are mother of pearl too. Gold hardware. through-neck solid mahogany body/neck with a flamed maple cap (the guy who chose the maple top had a choice of 40-45 maple to choose from to put on the top of the body). Custom radius-ed neck so it feels like a Jem. Retail price: £2,300 Alan's "jammy b*****d price": £800 (although he nearly died 'cos of a tard Welsh farmer) What a fanny. Anyway, here are the pics taken just now. Next post down (Y) Made a boob of myself.
  20. Yamaha is the main bass, acoustic needs restringing, I made the one on the right (has signatures from all my friends in my old year 11 class back in the day on the back). The one I made plays really nicely too (Y) The double bass The last pic is my amp, with 4x10 speaker cab. The pedal is the sub-harmonizer and SHAPE footswitch. I've also got a Line6 DL4 which I couldn't find a picture of... Mark. PS. Nice bass Haz!
  21. I've heard mixed stuff about the Woodman, but there we go... I'd forgotten about the Woodstock. The one I rode was beautiful, and that was like version 2 or 3 or about 1 billion from the ammount of testing they did. It's a f**kin' dialled frame. It's been in the pipeline for years, so yeah, it's only like £259 or something? Anyway, the T-Rex would most definitely shaft your wb<1050mm thing. Mark.
  22. Well, in answer to your last question: Turban Base TA26 LB1040 The Onza T-Pro The Monty 231 maybe? PX Zebdi Mk.6 PX Ghost or whatever the Hell they like to call it PX Pitbull (dunno why you'd bother though) Short versions of the Echo frames, maybe the Urban? So yeah, it's pretty varied. Just under £400 seems to the target for most manufacturers. Anyway, you're positive it's a crack and not an aesthetic mistake? It seems a little naive that there's no warranty info on their website, unless it's on the inaccessible pages relating to the frame and forks. Mark.
