  2. We make parts for aircraft... some parts are very tightly controlled (eg new recent design/manufacturign methods etc) but a lot of the older parts could probably be made better by Adam
  3. Stripped the powdercoat back - mount is brazed on Getting our resident brazer in work to do what needs to be done
  4. Thanks Matt. The disc mount has been fusion welded on - as are the other joints on the fork. It's already been extended in length a bit like the Identiti ones, but rather than tapering to a point, there's a large rad at the transition onto the fork leg meaning it joins at close to 90 degrees. Will strip powder coat back and see if the crack can be drilled/brazed over. Failing that, I'll go for some new forks.
  5. Funny guy! Any metallurgists know if I can stress relief anneal the forks after the mount is welded on as I have a vacuum furnace at my disposal!
  6. I've rebuild my ET and bolted a Hope Mono Trials onto my Pashley forks which Clive Leeson welded a disc mount onto... Sadly there's a crack propagating from the top of the disc mount around the fork leg. I've got another set of Pashleys (with the V bosses lowered) which I could get another mount welded on - would redesign the disc tab to come further up the fork leg to try and prevent the same happening again. Is it worth sticking the mount on the opposite side/leg so the braking force wont be concentrated on a stress riser? Alternatively, what 24" (or 26") forks are a similar geometry/weight. Not fussed on rim brake mounts, but wanting to keep the cost down. Ta Jon (Bear in mind I've not followed any of the new products in the past 4 years or so!)

  8. Read the guidelines and Mikes guide to validation and follow them...

  12. They (meaning their stupid computer system) do dish out NIP's for 60 - I had one for 61 in a 50 on the M6 roadworks. I disputed it as it was rush hour and I wasn't speeding. Never heard anything more. As long as you've not changed the registered keepers address with the DVLA (eg just bought it, or moved house) if you don't get a NIP in the post within 14 days, there shouldn't be any further action.

  15. Not ridden for quite a while now - Think I last rode properly at a DJ ride Have been working in Manufacturing for the past 5 years, and I've got lots of fancy toys at my disposal including a laser cutter Jon
  16. I can probably laser cut you one from 10mm steel - would just need figure out how to bolt on a standard 5 arm chainring (either tap threads in bash, or bolt all the way through. How do they locate on the cranks? Centre hole + one round key?

  19. Out of the box it was toss, but there was plenty of enthusiasm and ability from xda dev to supply and support tweaked romsets which included all the features which were missing/broken in the beginning. I always went to a vanilla install which removed the ghastly/slow touch flo interface and went back to the classic start menu etc... as I do on my desktop PC (it looks pretty much like Windows 98... I'm happy living in the past ) I went to the iphone not expecting to have to put up with stupid glitches and appears that I do (The youtube/wifi is the only big gripe so far, but it pisses me off that it appears to be an old issue which hasn't been resolved other than changing router settings from the defaults which I'm unable to do other wifi networks I use) Jon
  20. I've recently moved from a WM 6.5 device to a iphone 4. Initially I was impressed with the iphone, but the cracks are showing through now and I'm of the opinion that they're all as bad as each other for bugs/fixes. Speed/feature wise there doesn't seem to be much in it. Most recent gripe with the iphone is that youtube doesn't work properly on wifi. Googling around, this is an old problem which Apple just haven't bothered to fix. I'll probably go back to WM on the grounds that the XDA developers site has fixes for most of the bugs MS couldn't be arsed to fix. The same isn't true for the iphone, even if you jailbreak etc... My recommendation would be Android or Windows 7.
